Given the fact that this song was one of the VERY few things the mangaka liked about the original anime, I still fully believe that it's going to be used at some point. Seems like something sentimental enough to be saved for the last season.

Wait did the creator dislike the original anime so much? I know that there were plot points left out bc it was only gonna be 26 episodes but besides that idk what she could have disliked about it :o
@@EllaMila1 the fact that they turned Shihure into comic relief, the color of Kyo's bracelet, the fact that they made Akito like that at the end when that's not at all what Akito woild react like, and most importantly the fact that they put too much comedy in and left out parts that even tho seem trivial at the beginning are important for later in the story
@@coconut1173 @EllaMila Also the fact that the mangaka was shut out from the production and the director did not heed her advice as it wasn’t his _style_ . On top of that the studio also refused to change the director.
@@EllaMila1 I'm sorry but after reading the manga almost 20 years ago, seeing the manga being made into an anime it was heavily disappointing. It made me personally kinda sad, because I loved that story so much. The first version wasn't good. They really didn't do it justice. So I would understand that the mangaka didn't like it either.
I love beverly and the new opening is really great but the old opening just hits me so fucking hard so I hope they can use this in the 2nd season huhu
That’s one thing I don’t like about the remake, the music is pretty but it doesn’t have that same soft lullaby like sound that’s almost sad. It’s has a more soulish sad sound and I don’t think it fits the show as well as the original

@@hardivora1468 The original wasn't supposed to last more than one season so they skipped the seriousness the manga had. The remake is returning to the darker and much sadder roots that the manga has.

I do like that the opening animation still fits the original opening though. It makes me think of a sort of homage to the original atleast, while still respecting Natsuki Takaya's wishes for a brand new adaption.

Fr!! aside from the improved animation, and better-detailed storyline, it couldn't be complete without this song. I personally love this opening more because it felt like a constant reminder that everything's gonna be okay. I don't fully know the lyrics, but the tune itself is just truly amazing.
maybe they're saving this song until the very end of the show, where we can cry even more.

Not that the new one isn't good, but this one hits hard. It really really speaks for what kind of story the manga is and what kind of anime its supposed to be. This actually seems like more of an ending to me, but I wholeheartedly agree that the music in the original fit the show better. The original Fruits Basket music was unforgettable and instantly gave you an emotional reaction of some kind. The new music? Meh...

I know lots of people are hating on again cause they think this is better and that again is trying too hard, but today I was listening to again after a few weeks and I teared up. I agree that for fruits basket is better but it’s too good, I don’t think a lot of stuff can surpass it. If you ask me again is a really good opening too, I wouldn’t change that, but what I would love it if they played for fruits basket in the final episode. (Since I watched furuba remake and didn’t watch the original, if they played for fruits basket as the first it wouldn’t have much effect on me since I don’t hold the nostalgia, but now that I’ve heard it a bunch of times and love it I think it will have a heavy impact if they played it in the last episode)
I agree. This song is the most beautiful song to come from Fruits Basket. With her death, it's even more special. It should have remained the same.
The 2001 opening sounds like it’s a death ceremony or something, “Again” sounds more lively and happy

You know…considering how well this song goes to these images…I get the impression that maybe they might have originally intended to use this song. It’s quite possible they didn’t get the rights to use it before the anime was finalized though and just had to find a different song that also fit the animation they might have already done, possibly even customized it so it would. Ah well. It’s still a lovely song and I’m glad we all still adore it. I want to dance at my wedding to this song.

The entire story races through my mind when I listen to this song. The manga sure was dark... just thinking about what happened to Rin makes me cry so much
Ikr I often see people who haven't read the manga or never finished reading it complain about how it's just a slice of life anime and that they find it bland because of that it just makes me sad because there is so much more even in the first season whether show directly to you or left for the viewer to find on there own, this is and will likely always be one of my favourites if not my favorite anime and this opening is a part of that feeling.
Can we learn to appreciate both songs are great tho

@@xcept1281 I know they wouldn't be able to Natsuki Takaya the creator of Fruits Basket did not like the 2001 anime and for this new anime wanted new cast and crew and new animation studio for some reason Funimation was able to bring back the dub cast from 2001 which i am glad they were able to

Probably the best thing about the 2001 Anime was this song they should have at least updated the song by a different artist, while I absolutely love Again by Beverly it doesn't come any where near the original song, the original is soft, beautiful and warming ❤️❤️❤️

I still think the intro (both song and opening of the drama) of Fruits Basket 2001 the best. The new version is good as well but I barely can enjoy it as I did during the old version because of their 'lack' in soundtracks.
Honestly the ost for the 2001 is better than the 2019 and up ost, the 2001 ost just hits different and gets the feels off better. I honestly can’t remember any of the ost for the remake but i can for the 2001
