- My dispatcher tried to throw me under the bus and got all bent out of shape over a tame Qualcomm message, I had to flex a little knowledge on him and show him what was up! Trucking can be frustrating at times, but knowing the tricks to get out of bad situations can really help! =)

Freight broker here. I never gauge transit time at 65 unless it’s a really short trip. I deal with coast to coast loads and use single and team trucks. Any single driver worth his salt can do 600 miles a day before DOT break in a 24 hr period. What kills us is shippers that drag their feet in loading. I take care of my drivers because there’s nothing worse than a pissed off driver.
I smell a supertrucker here! Let me call you a waaaaaaaambulance for your emergency!
Abe, I pushed a truck down the road for over 40 years coast to coast, back and forth, up and down. Owned a truck and lost it. Drove for companies and was screwed over by dispatchers more than you can possibly imagine. I retired a year or so ago and now I watch trucker videos to fill the emptiness in my heart because I am no longer able to drive. I guess what I am saying is the worse day I had in a truck is better than the best day most people have. Trucking is something you love doing or don't. Maybe you should do something else because you sure don't seem happy. I would give anything to go back 40 years and trade places. I wish you good luck and inner peace.
Mocpehus Rainey we are on every day too.
We are new and still learning, but would like to help fill th void for you. Take a look.
Mocpehus Rainey I've got 10.yrs myself but my dad had 20 and I worked in the shop yrs ago for sunflower carriers.so when I came into it I wasn't blind like a lot of people lol.I agree 100% with you.cousin has 3 trucks and trailers for different thingsi love his motto compared to this.he's been an o/o for over 20 yrs and also a farmer here in iowam.his motto is work smarter not harder.his money maker is anhydrous.but trucking sure gets in the blood and I miss it.been laid up for 2 yrs.hope to get back out this summer
Trucking for a long time makes it hard to be "normal" guy. I`m having a break because I was stupid and got caught speeding on my motorbike. Can`t wait to get my job back. I hope you find peace in your retirement buddy.
Hell son we all do stupid things. The trick is to make it right and don't let it get in your way. If you love a job do it, if you don't try something else. Thanks for the shout out and hang in there. We all make mistakes.
It's not just a job, It's an Adventure.
I always let dispatchers know if It is a tight run, so that they know That "I will do the run, but no promises that I will deliver puntual".
Never let them stress you out.
Good planning and good communication is essential in the trucking bussiness.

Wtf? This isn’t trucking, I always call customers and check there hrs let me know what I’m hauling and my eta, the few times I’ve been refused a delivery because of after hrs or if broker said I could deliver durning a certain time and I was refused ,I call the broker and let them know ,they call customer and customer unloads me, if not I get paid detention after 2 hrs of waiting at $50-$75 a hr! These new truckers are steering wheel holders fucking the game up
Then, Teach Us The Game Old Tima
@@tre_4 the ol timer is right.
Are you not suppose to hold the wheel when you drive?
Owning my own truck FEELS GOOOOD!
I thought this was gonna be about a dispatcher trying to seduce you
Love the videos man keep em coming, I am in training to become a trucker
Best advice.. truck drivers should not let the dispatch or anyone one else give em $hit and take it Because they will continue to do so and they will try it on other drivers as well.
Your vocal tone and road footage relaxes me for some reason while I'm laying around. They make me wanna go on a ride along with someone that drives a rig for the experience alone. Keep the videos coming, big guy, and be safe out there.
I wanted to drive for a year to see the country and call it quits, but here I am 3 years later still drivin lol
atvkid0805 the money kept you around
atvkid0805 same here
The DSP of trucking
It's time for another abandoned truck on your DAC!
When can a dispatcher get in heaven.....when there's no more room in HELL
Dispatchers need to do time actually doing the job of the guys they oversee, otherwise they are just corporate yes men and use the drivers as a scapegoat for their poor performance.
MerlinxPV Sometimes the dispatcher is the middle man being told what to say and do so sometimes it is not the dispacher's fault but the director
@@richardbarker6615yep and none of them have ever touched diesel.
Looks like trucking hasn't worked out for WingsofRedemption
Jdude154 mods ban the dispatcher for motivating me.
Look listen here
And you didn't think to ask any questions?
Cx in the chat boys..
Ban people with trucks!
So glad i run across your channel. Was considering trucking, not now.
Weak
I remember watching this years ago when you posted this video. Now I’m a truck driver and I understand why they came up with hours of service and 24 hour dispatch lol
1:23 "I was not told what time the delivery was...", so if you're a pro driver, wouldn't you ask?
Glenn Williams no! Sometimes u assume the dispatcher knows what he or she is doing.
This is exactly why I love being an owner op. I can tell a dispatcher or planner to get bent and they can't say shit about it. I love calling the shots.
lol, we kind of do that at my job as a company driver hauling fuel.
Warren Michigan checking in soon to be trucker I’m in my 3rd week of school I truly enjoyed your video it gives me a little insight into how things work
Johnathen Stommel go flatbedding you will get with a trainer and they will teach you one on one. You will learn the ropes better.
Drop/hook = 1.75 hrs.
Trips based on 50MPH. with one hour added. Otherwise I don't take it.
You did better than I would have.My Grandfather told me long ago Respect is something a Dollar can't buy.
When you got the load assignment, did you let your company know that you couldn't make appointment time? Because if you didn't, it's all on you.
I usually call my wife and vent hahaha. With my company everything is through personal email, personal phone, or walk in our only terminal and talk to them face to face inside their office room
the company I'm with pushes me up against my 14 all the time. I'm at the point where I just do the best I can safely and if I don't make it on time then that's there problem. I will be in the dirt lot next to the waffle house reading a book. I used to get angry like that but it's just pointless.
This one reminds me of the Manager at the market, who sent his Labor Home at Midnight.
Logged, written attacks, over Your Unability to Understand Your Dispatcher,
Glory Days Ahead, Bro
I work in a diesel shop. The dispatchers are next door. There is one in particular that i wouldn't mind trying to do just that to me. ;-)
You say "Tame" I say "UNPROFESSIONAL " ⛟🤔
Trucking just isn't worth it. I can't wait to leave this life.
Me too
Lol look at all the hypocrite dispatchers in the comments sections. Abe’s words sting because there is some form of fundamental truth in it.
They didn’t even watch the whole video. Abe thoroughly explained what happened. If he can’t deliver an impossible load, then he can’t deliver it. His dispatcher’s insecurity and disrespectful behavior was a result of his boss breathing down his neck. Abe should just be a doormat for that? Bullshit.
I’ve been in the industry for almost 15 years now. I’ve done dry van, Reefer, flatbed, hazmat and household goods. That dac report is a bottom barrel company scare tactic. As long as you have a CDL, any company will hire you. Look at Western Express, they’re a 2nd chance company for drivers with felonies.
Can't deliver don't take
And if your dispatcher won't listen call your safety department and tell them that your dispatcher tries to give you an illegal dispatch (legal dispatch should be 50-55mph that usually accounts for normal traffic and the 30min break)
Its simple. Make them sign that they received the truck. If they refuse to sign. Take the truck and go to a boat ramp. Drive it in the river. Walk away.
There is allot I want to say about this jack wagon who wants to be a truck driver but nah not worth it. He should have been fired a long time ago. All I gots to say about that.
Holy shit he finally posts a video, after 30 fucking years.
haha, this is like my 3rd video in a week - my bad =)
This Guy Makes So Much Money he Even makes Custom Beanies for Sale!?.
thanks for the tips on your videos ..I'm a new driver and the help very much
THE DOUKS M-M-K be respectful and professional when talking to your dm. They can tell the load planner to make you starve.
This is why a lot of successful drivers have Military background; cause we understand the concepts of Respect & Logistics. First question on a load: when does it deliver. If you don’t ask, than its on you if your late. No real harm generally, but gotta accept your side of the responsibility. Trip Planning is Always key.
But, I have learned, a few kind words to a dispatcher on a tough load will turn you into a valued driver who gets great runs & good miles. If you Bite the hands that feed you, you starve yourself. If they make a mistake, ok... try to work around it, & then move forward troubleshooting. But calling someone out & getting in their business with hostility will only get you sitting at a truck stop not getting any miles. Dispatchers are just part of the team... we all win when we respect each other. I drive, have driven for a year... & my DM’s always enjoy dealing with me. Guess what, I get really good miles... go figure. Come on man, let’s fix your attitude & stop thinking the world is flat & your at it’s center.
Ty Banks fuck trucking, a lot of ex military are drivers because they can't do shit else do it's either flipping burgers or driving truck..... best decision I made was to get out from behind the wheel of a truck and start fixing them. #FuckTrucking
RunHard GetPaid watch yourself. 1: don’t call us Ex Military, were Veterans; we have earned a basic level of Respect, I am sure you would agree to that. 2: I am happy you have found a place where your happier. I would inform you that a lot of Vets have capability to do a lot of different things career wise, we just choose the industry because it’s similar to how we served.
Just saying you would find more success if you found a better tone & did not try to be so abrasive. But, #DoYouBooBoo
1: Doubt bullshit anybody about your service, thanks for the service, but if you're not active, you're ex military.
2: The vast majority of our military initially went into the service because they couldn't do shit else to make anything above minimum wage, let's state facts and not jazz anything up.
3: being abrasive in the trucking industry is a must, I've clearly demonstrated through several videos on CZcams that truckers don't matter, weather you're a ray of fucking sunshine or a complete dick, you'll never be anything more than trucker trash to these companies.
RunHard GetPaid For a second there, I was with ya...but now you start insulting vets. Fuck you, you fat lazy shit.
@@RunHardGetPaid Dont talk shit about veterans, you are a privileged fat fuck and will never amount to anything. Your attitude is probably the ugliest thing about you other than your face and greasy rolls.
Unfortunately crap like that buddy happens more often that it should, but like you said most drivers just bite the bullet and keep taking it from dispatchers like the one you had. I went through a similar situation about 3 years ago when drove for falcon transport. Also I was glad that was over the phone instead that face2face. I did not last very long with them. And now I am so glad I didn't last.
Jumping back in after not driving for a little while. Missed it, with all the ups and downs. Kinda is what it is and not likely to change any time soon.
I have to receive trucks at a warehouse and I get the frustration with dispatchers. We used a great company and the Drivers were excellent. Impressive to say the least driving through nasty snow storms in the winter & always on time. Then a new company got the new bid and the nightmare began. Drivers being lied to, and we were being lied to as well. They told my boss that we were refusing loads that in reality had never even left yet. I have no clue why we didnt move on. Its new drivers everyday now and half of them are pissed at us because they were told I would take them when I had no idea they were coming.
The real reason why there's troubled people in trucking: Everyone in trucking did'nt know where they were headed and landed into trucking against their will.
they even forget the 30 min sometimes they think ur robots lol
Next time u ask them what’s the appointment time and date, that’s the first thing i do, then i figure out that I cannot make it, i let them know I cannot make it, and it’s on them from here on if i try to do it.. that’s all u gotta say so u avoid confrontation.. because nobody wins.. i go trough that twice a month where dispatcher tries to mess up my day..
You have to be professional. You can say what you need to and still be professional.
Honey gets more 🐝. Be the 🌎 you want to create
You made me not watcing your video 17 sec in.. nice job!
Jasper Millek 63k others felt differently.
My trainer said there was a lie detector test for dispatch. Make the person put everything over the qualcom. Records are kept for 6 years.
we don't even allow pizza companies to have guarantee delivery time. why do trucking companies get to pissed on laws and drivers.
Pure rookie move. I refuse any load without both appointment dates & times. Can't trip plan without it
Run hard get laid I mean paid!😂😂
And looks like it's K&B all over again. Good luck in your future endeavors.
Nah, Just a power hungry dispatcher..... I hope this doesn't end like K&B did lol
RunHard GetPaid I hope not either. You're a cool dude.
Thank you, I appreciate that!
You did right!
Did you get those hats made at the Kelen 95 truck stop in NC?
Run hard get paid super trucker cant even stay awake after midnight. Fucking classic.
another gem!!also love the hat!
most knowledgeable trucker on you tube lol. How many disagree with you on that
Who takes a load without knowing the delivery? Lol
Sounds like every other day with my company
Dispatchers teach their drivers like shit they act like their above them
Yeah my dispatchers they will give me a load even though I can't deliver it just like it's off the books
Do yourself a favor and load an app on your phone that will let you record your phone conversations. Then you always have a record of what was said.
Aussie's call them hat's.
Beanies.
Tupes? Lived up north all my life..never heard of that. RIP.
after 35 yrs in this industry few things change especially with load planners , driver managers ...unless your under forced dispatch , you should be able to turn that down , and they should not get mad ....so if I'm given a load I cant deliver on time , I'd advise them ,hen refuse the load ....when I first interview w/ manager Or whom ever I put that on the table place , and other conditions that are not good with me ...if too many differences then I walk ... but when I phone interview is when all the questions are asked....and have turned down a few jobs w big Corporations ,,,because how I run is this that ,,,I'm not intimidatable
I might have been able to make a case to refuse the load, but they didn't give me all the info about the load, especially the part about being refused if late, I thought they would take me when I showed up.
yeah ,I hear you I've never seen a receiver that didn't have a grace period of at least 3 hrs ....most of these co,'s wont even let you on the property more than 3 hrs early ,,,,then I havent driven OTR in 10 yrs , been regional & teaching ,,,but your video's are giving me a up to date education thanks ......
Don't you know you have to keep your dispatcher happy? All you are doing is hurting yourself.
I'D JUST TAKE THE LOAD BACK TO THE SHIPPER!
do you get paid even when the load is refused
Don't worry.
You quit soon!
3 videos on one week? How'd we get so lucky ??
i almost went in to trucking but do to my dads heath and what i found out decided it was bad idea
This seems like something that should have been taken up face to face, not over a closely monitored system. If them tell you to do something you do it. Now if you do everything right on your end. Than it becomes their fault. They will get their asses chewed. Don't waste your time getting angry over something so silly.
If truck drivers stopped driving for 4 days, everything would grind to a halt. Even the Amish depend on trucks, however indirectly.
That dispatcher should have been fired.
honestly i think your first response to your dispatcher was bad if he screwed up alot i can understand but if not you over reacted and this type of response will make him defencive and disgruntled with you and can cause a whole chain reaction that can be bad for you and dispatcher talk to him first and if hes being a hard ball and gives you shit then you react accordingly sometimes when you talk to him about the problem you had with what he did maybe he will realise he screwed up and apologize you never know
If you have a dispatcher you don’t like, your life will suck.
drivers are just $ signs to dispatchers but talking to them disrespectfully will definitely make life a little more complicated
Abandoning truck in parking lot in 3....2.....1.........
dont take load without all info and recievers number....period. Still a rookie.....
and appointment... could have told them he could not do the load on time if he had asked this from the get-go. Typical steering wheel holder...
jason allen well can not really argue with that. Unless it is force dispatch then he might have an argument.
That's what I was thinking,
yep share your attitude on u tube for future employers.
Yes... he wont be an underpaid slave to a corporation........... oh no.............
I know this video is a bit older, but is there still a store to get the hats from?
Tom Markert no sir, you can message me on Facebook of you'd like a hat.
Lmfao
I'm just trying get into doing that and I honestly had to put on hold due to I'm new dad to be but one thing I'm going to trying to get my cdl due to my unborn baby girl will need to have open heart surgery right after she been born it's hard to dealing with I honestly hope that she make it tru what the dot thing's if baby girl has open heart surgery can she still be getting a ride back home in a rigg?
Serious question. Why do you still work there?
All these guys making videos should've been driving in 70s and 80s they'd all be flipping burgers door a living.
Maybe you can turn this into another media event like the last one...
its so cold here in grand Rapids.
You're right!
Lol, I would have cleaned out the truck. I don't have time to deal with nonsense.
Can't blame you for being pissed.
Loving the video!!Nice to see other drivers from Illinois.
Total stupidity!!! One of the drivers that stop’s at truck stops every hour and complain that the dispatcher is at fault for not counting hours. Instead of solving problems that he created he is crying. The new truck drivers generation!!! Rolling 1k miles per week and crying that they don’t make money!
Just another hot head truck driver that can’t cope with what we all have to put up with.
I'm done with trucking ,have been for a while. worked or swift my first trucking job. put a bad taste in my mouth. worked a little longer at other various companies. now I got a job home every night and I'm happy no more DOT.. not that I had much trouble with them some were plain dicks
Don’t understand how it’s the dispatchers fault you were late?
Sounds like what happened after the phone called at some point that he got chewed out for fucking it up and the blaming other people. ...
Don't know if there's a point commenting on this since it is old but what the hell. First things first. Never ever send a message to someone pissed off. Wait until you have calmed down and then send your message. Second there's an old saying that goes along the lines of "You will catch more flies with honey than with vinegar" so in other words cussing someone out or calling them stupid may feel really nice when you are pissed but it won't win you friends and it WILL make you Enemies. Finally the fewer enemies you have in a work environment the happier you will be. You can be honest with someone and call them out for messing up in a nice way and still not make an enemy or you can call someone a stupid idiot who you wouldn't let plan a birthday party and make an enemy.
Fbombs not good bro, run over a prius bug not even know it
When you get rude calls,HANG UP! They are like dogs. You have to train them. When they act properly, you will talk to them.
Well.at least you got to take another double 10hour break off...
Ass washed... check lmao good shit
you hit the nail on the head with this video...I have this problem with dispatchers and been fired cuz send aggressive message to dispatcher on qualcomme and everyone read it and who the fuck thinks a dispatcher is going to take the drivers side.
Being respectful doesn't mean being weak! what happened happens to all of us. It's frustrating. still passed off messages do not good. If I have a really bad dispatcher like that, I start looking for a new company.
Anyone who sees this comment. This dude damn disrespected the military in a comment thread. Hope y'all have a good night.
He mention Cincinnati....hell yeah!!! We're great....sucks about your situation....but we're still cool
