You can also rebind the keys all of these commands and that 100% removes the possibility of error without having to do tricks. Just figure out a layout of what you need, make unique key binds fo reach and voila.
Am a few days into a Dwarf Campaign and using gyro copters for the first time I think. The Battles are a bit of a mess, there are long range units, short ranged units, close combat units and flying stuff. It is a fecking nightmare coordinating it even when pausing. It can be done as long as you get a half decent map. It would be very easy if you could exploit your ranged assets but the AIs main tactic is to run at you like toddlers who have sighted an Ice Cream Van. A further complication is I've nothing expendable. Every unit has value and everything takes time/money to recruit. Oh and that fecking Zepplin. Jesus there's no fecking need for it. Its more button tapping in the vague hope it'll do something useful and spunking away resources trying to make it less useful.

Thanks for the tips! I've been holding space whilst trying to cast spells but the overlays menu blocks the top spell slot lol
