The legend himself is back. Glad to know you're still doing your thing brother 🤙🏾
Who is him?
@@XmasTablet a legend
appreciate you
@@JoystickNY the man is right, keep it up! I am so glad to see you back making videos!
♥️
I like how this guy actually explains everything in detail
appreciate you, thank you
After about three years of wanting one and saving (college) I finally got an arcade stick and went with this one based off of some research and this review. I love your videos man and I’ve learnt so much more about all things arcade since discovering this channel! Hope you’re doing well
Other people when they talk about arcade sticks I get bored but I could listen to you talk about a single arcade stick and even if it’s a 30 minute video it somehow feels too short. I really enjoy watching and listening to your videos, glad I stumbled upon your channel. Thanks for the content and knowledge.
Appreciate you, you motivate me to keep going 🙏
Hey man, it's nice seeing you again. The first video I ever watched of yours was the "How to Use a Fight Stick and Arcade stick" video. That video helped me so much when I was starting my fighting game journey back in 2020. I've since transitioned to using a Hitbox for playing fighting games, but I still like to watch these kinds of videos from you. My main game has been KOF XV, but I've been dabbling in some Samurai Shodown due to the rollback update coming soon for that game. I'm happy to see you continue making content. I was worried a little bit when you didn't upload a new video for a full year. I thought you had quietly quit CZcams, so it's nice to see the man who helped me get into fighting games still make videos. Keep up the good work!
thank you so much, appreciate you, i was busy at work and i kinda got lost in life for a bit, i am definitely going to upload more
The most comprehensive and best look at this yet. Good Job 👍
appreciate you, thank you
Recently got into fighting games with SF6 and loving it so far. I checked out some of your videos and they're a pleasure to watch. Your communication is very greatand insightful. I bought the HORI alpha for fun and was looking into trying out different buttons and I found your comparison video of the hayabusa, sanwa and seimitsu and it helped me come to my decision. I've definitely became a fight stick enthusiast and look forward to future content of yours.
Appreciate you, give the hori alphas default buttons and lever a longer time b4 u switch, they r amazing
thank you for making this review. I saw the stick at the store earlier and i really cant decide. but now im pretty much convinced
As someone contemplating a stick or hitbox for the first time in 45 years, this is welcome. Also this stick looks amazing
Go with the one you do better on, both are great
You make some of the best fighting game content out there, always keeping that positive energy! I'm a relative newcomer to fighting games and your channel is second to none for information. I am curious though, why have you decided not to review SF6? Thanks for all your hard work!
i been working a lot, i havent had a chance to fully check out the game, thank you
Kid named spongebopb
Glad to see I'm not the only one waiting for new videos from this channel.
appreciate you
I really like how you took the time to photoshop your ideas about how it could be even better! Your videos are dope!
appreciate you
Never give up the dream, buddy. Glad you're still around. Take as much time as you need between videos.
will do, appreciate you, thank you
Finally a new generations of sticks for joystickNY to review
thank you
glad to see the channel that talks of real arcade sticks again, and not the atrocity of controllers and hitboxes we see nowadays
appreciate you, thank you
Ive been waiting for you. Its about damn time. LETS GO!😊
appreciate you❤
I like how the newer sticks allow you to access your parts easily, definitely something I wish I had on my gen 1 Mad Catz TE.
Same. I still use my TE (heavily modified) but I'm loving the QOL improvements in the new sticks.
I just retired a ps3 te. It had a ps3/ps4/ pc zero delay board but sf6 reads the joystick upside down and its just time to upgrade. Went with mayflash 500 for $90 cuz i have big hands.
@@Nostalgiaforinfi mayflash sucks lol get the one in this video
@@RealSkyeBlue he recommends mayflash, he reviewed the f300 in previous videos. the f500 is $90 and i can upgrade to sanwa later vs this is $200. you dont need fancy bells and whistles to kick somebodys ass in kof and sf6 :)
this one is great, i like it alot
Thanks for this awesome, honest review. I actually got myself an 8BitDo Arcade Stick last week thanks to your review video. After watching this, I may have to upgrade! Lol! Will wait for your Obsidian 2 review
thank you, 8bitdo is 1 of my favorite stick in the past 2 years
@@JoystickNY that's awesome to hear! Will be replacing my joystick lever and buttons to Sanwa real soon. Will be using your video as a guide. Thanks for the great content!
Welcome back, brother! I was waiting to see what you thought about this stick; I'd definitely recommend it myself. Noir layout 4 lyfe, lol.
i recommend this one
Happy New Year 🎆 Great video and I 💯% agree with you on having a detachable cable maybe a turbo button feature too 😝 I’m happy I got mines when it 1st released being the 1st official ps5 license stick at the time good job Hori and I still love playing on it for sf6. So cool how many options are out now. Hope all as well
I currently use a RAP4 (thanks to your recommendation btw!) but I've been looking into getting a Noir layout stick as well, and this is looking like a great contender. Thanks for the detailed review as always, you're the best!
Isn't the rap4 noir layout also? Unless my memory is wrong.
@@tommieboi707 the OG RAP 4 is vewlix, but there is the RAP N which is an "upgrade" to the RAP 4 and that one has the noir layout
@@fuh-zee got it. I have the Hayabusa. It is definitely noir.
thank you, this is 1 of the best noir layout stick for a long time
Woot! Thanks for the coverage ^_^ hoping to get this soon as my first arcade stick
appreciate you, thank you
After watching your videos and looking up different reviews I bought this arcade stick. I was set on the Mayflash F500 Elite but I felt this hori was better suited for $50 more. The F500 elite did come with Sanwa lever and buttons though which was good. Watching your videos I felt like I was going to upgrade stuff if I got a mayflash. To me the hori alpha was a happy medium for $200 for my pc.
Great stuff as usual. Liking the one video for the stick one for using it.
thank you
I'm glad you posted this. I've been wanting to get a stick with a noir layout, and I was stuck deciding between the Hori RAP N and this one, as I specifically like Hori and their Hayabusa parts. This was what I needed to be sure of my decision, as I really respect and trust your knowledge and reviews. Thanks for posting this video.
get the hori alpha cause if your on next gen then the rap n doesnt work at all
totally recommend this stick
Amazing video. I have the original Alpha blue, and I really like this Arcade Stick. To be honestly, even the Hayabusa parts are nice.
the parts are amazing, been using them alot
love love love your ideas of how you would improve it! top buttons need to be on the side/top i WANNA SEE THE ART WORK!
Thank you, I was waiting from this review from you :D. I wish someone had a proper mod guide to find a way to make the cable detachable. I know some modded it but not many guides :(
i hope they make one someday
I 3d printed an octagonal gate to replace the square gate it came with. Big improvement.
That printer came in clutch lol
@@JoystickNY no doubt. It instantly improved my gameplay putting that octagon gate in there. 👍
thank you for the detail!
What a coincidence that you release this video and I already ordered this stick 😂
hope u like it
Bro always goes the extra mile to photoshop improvements to the sticks. I'm just rocking with the mayflash 300 elite but still checking bros videos out for pure entertainment.
appreciate the love
Cool thing that there are also special artwork to download. They also have an Xbox version(standard edition). Just recently, they’ve also announced a tekken8 version which I think is the same thing with different decal
This is the best arcade stick for me since you can assign directional keys on the buttons. same like the hitboxIcrossup (not available in my country). i assign left on square, right on L1, then down on both x and L2. doing electrics and JFSR is soo easy with this in tekken.
Good to see you buddy! But I wish you had made a review video on the Qanba Obsidian 2 before I bought it...
will do, should be the next month or so
For that price and that lovable design it sure is a high probabilty for getting purchased!
I already have some positive experience with the RAP.N.Hayabusa in functionality but this one is not only prettier but the top screws the RAP.N has are gone and my wrists will highly appreciate that.
Thank you for that great review!
Thank you for watching
Thanks for this video and all your vids, always quality!
thank you ❤
Good to see you! This stick looks nice :)
appreciate you, thank you
Love your content, keep up the good work!
appreciate you, thank you
My dingers are burning i play with the ps5 controller and i think this arcade stick is the best solution ! Thanks for the video ! Youre a Legend 🤝🏻🦅
What a beautiful arcade stick, if i didn't have one already i would get this one
For sure, 1 is good for now; maybe wait for a big sale down the road
flawless review !
appreciate you, thank you
Great video! Nice to see you back bro!
appreciate you❤
I’ve put like 40 hours in this Stick already. It’s awesome!
love it, thank you
Thank you as always JoyStickNY for helping to open up my mind to explore more about the world of arcade sticks.
After several years of adventure I have been able to collect these treasures, 99% of all of them brand new:
Sega Astro City
- Virtua Stick Pro HSS-0130
- Sega Virtua Stick (PC version - mint condition)
Hori
- Hori Real Arcade Pro. 3 VLX Diamond
- Hori Real Arcade VLX Hayabusa
Qanba
- Qanba Drone
- Qanba Drone EVO
- Qanba Dragon
Madcatz
- Madcatz Tournament Edition 2+
The two modern sticks I'm more looking at are Victrix Pro. FS and the very Hori stick which has been reviewed right here, as I've always wanted to own the definitive Noir layout stick :)
Any suggestions would be much appreciated!
i totally recommend this one, and really nice collection my friend,
Awesome review!! Keep it up
appreciate you, thank you
just want to thank you, i finally bought my first arcade stick after watching your reviews and guides. i was initally going to buy qanba drone but i found a much better stick at practically the same price: the gamesir c2. it's the exact same arcade stick as the madcatz ego (just found out like 3 days after i got the stick lmao) and it's all sanwa. pretty happy with it.
now i wonder if i want something with noir layout instead of vewlix since i realized yesterday that my way of finger placing and movement is kinda awkward on vewlix even though many people said if ring finger is longer get vewlix instead... but wrist angle is awkward for me and i prefer to put my index finger on X (or A for xbox layout) instead of square (X for xbox layout)
you got a great stick, i think it should last you a while, you can get one if you have guest over alot, other wise,i think 1 is enough, unless u want to collect more
Glad ur having fun with sf6
appreciate you❤
Love when I see an upload in my sub box
appreciate you❤thank you
Excellent. Always enjoy your videos my friend.
Appreciate you ♥️
Looks incredibly light. The way you flip it around and easily grab it by the handles makes me think it's very lightweight. I guess that can be good or bad, depending on preference. For me, I like some weight on an arcade stick since it makes it feel sturdier on my lap or whatever surface it's resting on, and also it just doesn't "feel" cheap. Of course, light can be good for traveling and constant moving around from setup to setup.
its actually got a good weight to it, def dont slide around when using, its consider light for its size, but still on the heavy side
Very informative review!
thank you
Damn, I can't believe how Qanba has 7 arcade sticks that's more expensive than this, but this one still beats them all. Qanba has the dragon, but I think the price is too high. Maybe you can review it as soon.
Yeah I may get a Hori Fight stick. The way it’s designed is genius.
its a great value compare to the qanbas
I just received this fight stick today. It’s my very first fight stick ever I’m so excited to use it, it’s really gorgeous and feels fantastic.
Glad u like it, u will enjoy it for many diff games
I got this stick but i changed the buttons not a fan of the hayabusa buttons but was ok with a lever. Love your videos you are really good at explaining everything i will share your youtube with my fellow fighter friends.
Appreciate your support, these button are actually my favorite
Man I wish I could get this stick as a new go to stick for tournaments. Gonna stick with the RAP V for now since it's been said that it'll work with the PS5 version of SF6.
Also worth mentioning is the cable for the lever. It has a 6 pin plug in case you wanna install the Optical Hayabusa Lever.
great info, thank you for the reminder, rap V is amazing
I like the idea of a detachable cable as well, but not if it is USB-C. The cable sag damaging the actual port over time is too big of a risk. I was quite interested in the Victrix, and Nacon Daija for its detachable cable, but decided against it, because it is USB-C. I agree that Hori Alphas cable storage is pretty bad, but even with that, and the wiggle room in the back when it hangs its got a better chance at a long life span than any USB-C detachable solution.
I purchased this and a Victrix Pro FS in white. I'm test driving both before I make my choice.
both are amazing, but the V is double the price
this looks soooo good, wish they had three color options.
wish the purple sides were swappable too
You're a great joystick ambassador.
appreciate you, thank you
The best reviews in the game!!!!!
appreciate you❤
Hello, I was curious on what kind of a backpack would you recommend using for this stick? I have the xbox version... thanks ! great video as usual btw
I want to buy my first fight stick... I was trying to buy the RAP 4 back in 2019, but didn't pull the trigger and I feel so sorry now because I can't find it in Amazon anymore. I don't know what to do ): (great video btw, I love that you are back at making videos for the channel).
The alpha is excellent, i recommend it
@@JoystickNY I was going to use mostly in pc, I don't use console at all and I saw your 8bit do video and finally pulled the trigger for that one (: (and already bought Sanwa buttons and lever to do the mod too).
Thats pretty neat!
appreciate you❤
I got an HRAP4. I've been looking at this stick because my heavy kick is giving out and plus the arcade stick is just really old
I heard Fightcade eats inputs though
I got a couple of questions I've been meaning to ask you for a while now.
1. How should hand size and shape be considered when choosing or modding a fightstick and its various parts?
2. What do you think of fightsticks being used for other game types like 2D platformers, shmups, or racing games?
I think the sanwa or most of the japanese lever size are great, it feels very natural, cuz its not too short or too long, japan is very detail about their designs, and i would trust them
2. Its great for retro games like shmup, beat them up, metal slugs and most arcade games, racing is prob better in the wheel
Should I wait for Hori to make a more premium stick like a Fighting Edge 2 (technically 3) or is this good for a long time? I currently use a Qanba Q4RAF and its showing its age.
Nice work bro❤
Btw, any info about input delay 🤔
Great review! I am looking to buy my first fight stick. What's the difference between this and the non-SF6 edition? I will play on PC.
I've had this stick since it released for the Xbox Series X, My only complaint has been the cable management... It just feels like I am going to damage a connector on the buttons every time that I try t close it and hope the cable has stayed where I placed it. I have looked into options on Modding this to accept a detachable cable but don't know if I want to risk it due to the price.
this stick is new competitor to te since hori manage shrink the size of the fighting edge, for the alpha which is just right, you can't go wrong with it, not unless if you are fan of sanwa parts but you can customize with sanwa parts with this layout
I love hori and hayabusa parts my self 😊
Let’s go!
appreciate you❤
Thank you so much 😢
Thank you for the detailed review of the Hori Alpha. I've ordered the non-SF6 variant of the Hori Alpha for my PS5 to go alongside my Sanwa Lever/buttons modified HRAP4 Kai. I'm curious. Are you still using the Hayabusa level/buttons with the Alpha or have you modified the stick? Keep up the great work!
I m using mainly sanwa lever and hayabusa buttons
It looks very good, can a lever be adapted to it Crown CWL-309?
Wow my favorate content creator is back..
appreciate you❤
is there a way to map this to use the right stick? for fighting games like AEW Fight forever, you need to move the right stick to get the special
How's the weight compared to the Razer Panthera SFV version (which I feel is just a little bit too heavy)?
Hi there. Could you tell me if the lever of the hory alpha and the lever of the 8bitdo have got the same height? (no mod just factory models) I noticed you've got both controllers. Thanks
Not a fan of the art on it, it feels like it was slapped on instead of designed around the cutout of art area. That profile switching sounds fantastic. Those grips and easy access to opening are really great QoL features!
Edit: Just got to the end of your video. Love your redesign suggestion
you are right, the art coulda been better
Thinking about getting this as my first Fight stick. It’s reasonably priced unlike most sticks in Singapore kinda jealous of people in states being able to find sticks under 200. But with this it should keep me going forever really. I might consider a octagonal gate but will try out square first. Hyabusa is fine since I have never used them or senwa so no bias. Panel art switching is the main reason I want this as I’m feeling I’ll be able to put art from other games like mk1 but the sf6 will always be on the stick so that’s cool! When it comes to printing the art tho do you need to use photo print paper and quality or just an inkjet and regular paper is enough? Also I have seen other art for the panel, but not sure where they came from. There is one of zangief with different art that is included for one of the sellers.
I am sure any paper will work; but the artwork is bigger than a regular letter size paper, u might have to print it outside, it is a nice stick, but also check out the 8bitdo coming out this month
Is this any different from the regular hori stick alpha?
Overall i like this design for this stick. It has the same feel as my old HORI RAP V3 SA. How i wish that this came with sanwa. But the buttons currently seems to be ok still
Can you put a K stick into it? I love the looks of this style but I love K levers.
I might get one.. i was also looking into the razer kitsune but hitboxes are intimidating... idk I'll get one of the 2. But im leaning towards the Alpha
If u ask me; its always stick lol 🤣
I like the Qanbas but man they are very expensive; I almost went with the drone then i watched this video and went with the Hori alpha instead. For 50 dollars more I get parts that I know I like already and it's great for customizing
Hey, really loved this video and I'm actually thinking of buying this hori stick after watching this, but I have a question. Is it compatible to use on pc as well? Or is it just ps5?
Great video. I am a Tekken player, and I am unsure if Hori Alpha will have a Edition for Tekken 8 like SF6,I will wait for tekken 8 to be released before making a decision.
Good idea 👍
Maybe I'll get it next year. Still on my old mayflash with sanwa parts.
still a solid stick
@@JoystickNY definetly. Still going strong
Mr @JoyStickNY please do the Euro FIghtstick Nacon Naija :D I would be glad to get your insight.
i saw the stick, i might pick 1 up later on, it looks nice
@@JoystickNY That is nice, if ever you do find it, and if you are interested in doing in. Keep doing the good work Mr JoystickNY
Thank you very much, it is an informative video. I am interested to know if you have any comments on the comparison in terms of build quality and feel between this one and the discontinued Madcatz TE2 plus?
To me they both feel the same except 1 is sanwa and 1 is hori, the build quality is also very similar
@@JoystickNY Thank you for replying.
So this is the same as the alpha with just SF6 branding right?
Also do they come with octagonal gates?
@JoystickNY will you do a teardown/ modding. I am curious to know what the circuit board looks like. Is it easy to switch board for lets say using a Brook Universal Fightboard/ Pico. I wonder if the cable for the control pannel such as the touch pad is easy to access.
i will look in to it, in the meantime, i recommend check out others mod video for now, incase u find something useful ❤
Qanba crystal has nice weight too it
its quite heavy , when i held the box, it was like a dumbbell
I have a PS5, but i live in the middle of nowhere so i have to use starlink internet. Not good internet, but for some reason my laptop and my series X handles online play better than my PS5. So i got this stick for the series X. Xbox doesnt have many options, but this stick is nice. And i'm already customizing it. When i move back to the city, i'll get a hitbox for my PS5.
Hi JoyStickNY, I wanted to ask you a question regarding this stick. I wanted to know which of the two is effectively larger between this stick and the Nacon Daija?
I'm leaning between the two, and wanted to get your opinion. Do you feel like you have enough palm space on both? Do you consider either one more comfortable than the other?
Thank you for your help and thank you for all the reviews you do man. You give people so much great information.
Do the Fighting Stick Alphas not have a DP - LS - RS switch anymore? I’m thinking of upgrading from my RAP N because Arc System Works and some smaller indie releases don’t support PS4 sticks for native PS5 versions. The Stick switch is essential!
That might be enough to push me towards Qanba.
Does this come with a square gate ? Didn’t hear it mentioned, sorry if I missed it.
Are there any differences other than looks between this stick the original one and the tekken 8 edition?
hello, does a sanjuk v6 and the knee lever neo fit in this stick? Many thanks for reply
