Nintendo had a history of delaying their consoles:
N64 from 1995 to 1996
GameCube from 2000 to 2001
Wii U from Spring 2012 to Fall 2012
Switch from 2016 to 2017
Switch 2 in 2025 is the most realistic outcome.
I agree with you, I never thought 2024 was the right time.
My wish is that Paper Mario TTYD release before the Switch 2 is officially announced, I don't want this awesome game lose sales because of the next console hype season.
If it does end up coming in 2025, this will end up being the longest time between Nintendo systems *ever.* If they’re gonna wait this long to drop such a much-needed upgrade, and *especially* if they want that top console sales spot, they better be getting those price drops out STAT. We should not be paying MSRP for seven-year old games, especially when Nintendo used to drop their console and game prices after less time.
2025 is Mario's 40th anniversary
1. Yen inflation has created a situation where Taiwanese, Korean, and Vietnamese labor all is too high of a cost with where the Yen is right now. Japan’s financial sector predicts that to come back to a sensible position late 2024, which makes early 2025 the right time to spend big on a huge manufacturing run, of a console which has been done with design for some time.
2. Nintendo knows with another year of SALES, both hardware and software, they can unload ALL inventory, to younger gamers, females and developing nations primarily with the pending sizable discounts.
3. Nintendo also knows that with this huge sale inventory unload …. They have a very real chance to eclipse the PS2 sales record of 155-158million consoles sold, at some point in 2025…. This achievement may not mean much to hardcore gamers …. But it means ALOT of FREE MARKETING that can be utilized and “TIDE OVER” into free marketing for the Switch 2 launch shortly thereafter….

Y'know, this situation does feel real familiar to the lead up to the Switch or "NX".
Y'all remember when people thought the Switch was a stupid name and wanted to keep calling it the NX?
I feel like people may have to get used to not calling the next console Switch2.
With how much 2017's stellar output set up the switch for success, I really wouldn't blame them for launch title prep being the reason for the delay. Especially when all signs seem to be pointing to it including a new 3D Mario, possibly Mariokart, and now Pokémon ZA.
My mindset has always been they'll drop it when they drop it. But the rumors and clear engagement farming around said rumors (not you though) has definitely taken its toll amongst Nintendo heads by now. Just enjoy the ride folks
I think they will drop it in early 26, don’t think 24 announcement is likely. It is slow down, but so is still a similar situation as early 2023, which is a no new console era

Yeah, well that's why we should call it an "Internal Delay" (supposed). That (supposed) April Direct can't get here soon enough.
How do you feel now that Thousand Year Door and Luigi's Mansion are confirmed for 1st Half? Which leaves the 2nd Half a complete mystery.

Indifferent as far as the release dates for those games go, happy TTYD has a shot at selling mad well
@@SuperMarioT That’s why it’s a rumor. But the idea is that Nintendo’s internal schedule had it slated for release this year but the rumor says they had to change their internal schedule due to reasons. Even before revealing it to us.
There was pretty much no reason to not think 2024 before the reports, but yeeeah. If we especially go by these next few months without hearing a peep, its over.
I think maybe Nintendo has a few games in the backlog that they'll sprinkles as crumbs. So this won't be nearly as comparable to the hellscape that was the Wii U to Switch transition... but still. It'll mostly be stuff that isn't toooo crazy I'm guessing. Would love to be proven wrong though.
Also I feel bad for those said Mario spinoffs, because I feel like a game like Princess Peach Showtime is gonna get judged 10x as harder, but maybe it'll help with its sales. And y'know TTYD having space so it can sell is VERY needed.
If I had to guess, I would say we are almost exactly a year away from Switch 2. I think launching in March like the Switch makes sense. I do hope that the launch year is as good as the Switch. Some possible launch year titles that I think would be good would be a new Mario Kart, 3D Mario, Pokemon Z-A, Prime 4 existing, Xenoblade X port, Mario Party, and Super Smash Bros. Also Min Min reminds me that Arms 2 could exist which would make me happy.
Winter 2025 would be great. I know is everyone thinks it's coming earlier but I think they'll have wait a little longer

I honestly don’t know if it’s this year or next year I can say is no matter when it comes out, we’re going to be excited. I bet Nintendo has already planned out all the games are gonna be in the lunchtime for the consul. By the way about all the remakes being proof about all this stuff that makes sense except for Kirby’s Return to Dreamland. I know how HAL does stuff with their games when they make a remake they don’t do it at the end of a life span. They do it for a celebration that remake was purely for the anniversary. @@QnjtGWonQNqVsbYyzjx4 I can see a code name drop by Q4 2025, reveal by Q3 2026 and launched by Holiday 2026, Nintendo is going to want to launch the new console after the Super Mario Bros. movie 2 break box office records again and have it launch with a new 3D Mario game to boost sales and have the new 3d Mario game packed in with the new console (most likely a download code) and a download code for the Super Mario Bros. movie 2 to download it on Movies anywhere.
Like I said we might have 2 years to go with the Switch, new Mario Kart, new Dr. Mario, new Mario Baseball, new Donkey Kong game, ports of Yoshi's Woolly World, Star Fox Zero, Zelda Wind Waker HD and Zelda Twilight Princess HD and Pokemon Legends A Z and Metroid Prime 4 might be the Switch's swan song.

If a rumor doesn’t sound like wishful thinking, it’s probably true. Also, if it was delayed for any one reason, I would like that because that means they could take their time developing everywhere else
It won't be holiday 2024 because they can't handle the load of pre-orders unless they can get like 30 million out or something.
TBH I think the Next console will get announced by 2025 and get a launch by Holiday 2026, this is because just recently Nintendo and Illumination has just announced that a new Super Mario Bros. movie (mostly The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2) will be in theaters by April 3rd 2026 and Nintendo is going to want to launch the next console with a 3D Mario at launch to coincide with the Super Mario Bros. Movie 2 (maybe bundle a download code for the Super Mario Bros. movie 2 for movies anywhere with the next console and a download code for the next 3D Mario.)

I don’t get why Nintendo would have a Partner Showcase last month when we literally know nothing about the first party lineup for the rest of this year other than Mario vs. Donkey Kong which just came out and Princess Peach Showtime coming in two weeks. Aside from those we know about Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door but still need more info on them. The rest of 2024 is a mystery at this point and I’m hoping that we get the Zelda Oracle games remade on Switch! Cause hey, if the Link’s Awakening remake on Switch was successful then why stop there? It makes all the sense in the world to continue it with Oracle of Seasons and Ages! That would be like Nintendo and Grezzo remaking Ocarina of Time without Majora’s Mask, ya just don’t do it!
I predict that Nintendo’s next console will be announced in October and released in March next year

Random thought- I think Genshin Impact's gonna be a launch title for Switch 2. They announced that thing ages ago, but there's been absolutely nothing of it since.
More related, I may have missed it, but I think there's a big difference between Pokemon Z and BW2 & USM. BW2 and USM were follow up 3rd version games, while Legends ZA is a spinoff. I think there's a really good chance it could launch on the new system.
Z-A is not a spinoff.
Legends games are core series games.

@@RoseSupreme Completely different gameplay, structure and even naming convention. Maybe in terms of lore, it's a mainseries game, but as a video game, it's completely disconnected from the main series. My main point was that, this game is in a very different position than BW2 or USM which released on previous gan hardware even after the new system came out.
