  • Watch my trip from May 2024. As I was solo there is minimal speaking. You will hear all the outdoor sounds as I hike from Happy Isles along The Mist Trail and John Muir Trail to my campsite overlooking Little Yosemite Valley and the east side of Half Dome.
I was prepared for weather and knew it was going to be raining or snowing at my planned tent site around 7,000 feet. It rained for about 1 hour and then switched to snow for 10 hours without letting up until midnight. At times my tent was being weighed down by the snow loads. I was routinely shaking snow off of it. The following morning 2 more inches of snow fell. About 12 inches of snow in total.
Fortunately the sun came out and there was much less snow at lower elevations on my hike out. The mountains looked amazing covered in a fresh blanket of snow. The waterfalls were flowing very powerfully and there was the sound of running water constantly.
I hope you enjoy the video. Please like and subscribe to see more of my upcoming adventures to all 8 Alaska National Parks!
