WARNING: For me, I own the black dial 126660 Deep Sea and love it! One thing about it, once I tried it on - it has ruined the Submariner and smaller watches for me, they seem like children's toys after wearing the Deep Sea. It's like a tank wearing a tuxedo, extremely tough and classy!!! Enjoy!

I recently purchased a JC 126660. My wife bought me a new Sub 14060 in 1990 and I wanted to add another Rolex this year. I considered a used SD 4000 but it looks quite similar to my current Sub. I decided to go for the new JC. The writing around the ring looks very prominent in pictures, but is not as noticeable when you wear the watch.

Great video. I own this watch and love it, but you're misrepresenting the watch's capabilities a bit. It will not survive to the bottom of the Mariana trench, which is over three times this watch's depth rating. Cameron having it on his wrist inside the submersible does not subject it to that pressure, as he would have been dead. He could have been wearing a Patek dress watch in there and it would have been fine. The DeepSea Challenge definitely can survive those pressures, but too bad we can't purchase it.

On January 23, 1960 Swiss Jacques Piccard had put a Rolex Deep Sea special on the outside of the batyscaphe and this Rolex prototype survived the adventure!
Jacques Piccard always wore a personal Rolex Submariner wristwatch. So far only 5 people visited that deepest spot on Earth:
2012, March 16: James Cameron wearing a Rolex DeepSea Challenge Sea Dweller wristwatch and another outside his Kawasaki green colored Deep submersible " Deep Sea Challenger "
2019, April 28: Victor Vescovo reached the deepest point onboard DSV Limiting Factor wearing an Omega Seamaster Ultra Deep
2020, June 7: Again Victor Vescovo who was joined by veteran NASA astronaut Kathryn Sullivan to dive to the deepest point on Earth. Their DSV - Deep Submergence Vehicle had Omega logos on the side and Vescovo wore an Omega Seamaster Ultra Deep

My 126660 dblue gets more wrist time than my sub and gmt. Its just a special piece and very unique and top of the range made by rolex. Yes it is thick and big but there's a reason for that due to its depth rating.

I am delighted to encounter this variant of TheCarGuys. Damien's observations are valuable, but I have begun to miss the other guy's perspective--I can no longer recall his name, but he seems more compatible with my Toyota budget. On the subject of Sea Dwellers, how about lobbying Rolex to offer the Deap Sea Challenge? That would be a really memorable tool watch even if it would have to worn on the outside of a sleeve.

As it’s now discontinued I rang/emailed Tudor AD’s all over the UK hoping to find one still in stock. Eventually I found a new one on the bracelet - an unexpected bonus was a 15% discount when the AD owner noticed a tiny mark on the bezel 👍🙂

The question I’ve got (the question that I think I think a lot of people will be asking themselves) is whether good old Franses in Bournemouth like Damian _enough_ to give him their single allocation of green 5711?đŸ€“

I passed on this bad boy because I was holding out for another model. Eventually, I'll add it to my collection.

“Would I wear it in the shower? Of course not.”
This makes no sense to me... I bought my sea-dweller specifically to go scuba diving in it. Why buy a watch like this if you’re just going to treat it like a delicate toy? This watch was made to be worn, not babied.

Yes that’s idiocy of my statement, which is why it’s funny.

This watch is fantastic; perhaps the most technically and horologically exquisite diver ever made. But it’s big and bulky. If only Rolex made a diver, with helium escape valve, that is 2mm thinner, 1mm smaller in case diameter, lighter, and better proportioned for daily wear....

Masterpiece. When you interested in watches, that are so relevant in history of mankind going to extremes, the Moonwatch would be perfect for you. Omega has so nice watches in the line. Specially the vintage Speedmasters are soo beautiful. Do you have some of them in your collection? Cheers!

@@TheWatchGuysTV I think Vintage Speedmasters are very underrated and have a quite interesting potential in the future. Maybe you could do an episode about these nice watches? 🌜 🕰 😅
