Eddie Brock lived as a coward and he died like a coward, clinging to anything that gives him a speck of power. Props to Topher Grace for his performance, it’s his superb acting skills that make us hate his character.

The funny thing is, every other vilan in this trilogy Even Norman Osborn to a extent is a more sympathetic character then there comics counterpart, yet Venom Eddie Brock who was one of the first Spider-Man villans to make a face heal turn and become a Anti Hero in the comics is a purely unsympathetic villan in this film.

The biggest problem with this Venom was the lack of screentime. I think the whole "evil Peter Parker doppelganger" version of Venom is a really cool idea. It just needed an entire movie, not 15 mins at the end.

The age is more accurate, the hair color, the disdain for Peter Parker, it checks the boxes. Toms can’t go more than 30 seconds without dropping a cheesy comedy bit to break the tension and make his version of venom seem like a stand up comedian. Tophers was actually a bit terrifying when his face was covered. Superhero movies just don’t like to take themselves seriously anymore and it’s really highlighting how good this movie and others like actually were.

Are you saved? If you died tonight would you go to heaven or hell?
The Gospel, which means the Good News is the news that God Almighty, the Creator came in the flesh as Jesus Christ to take away the sin of the world. The one God is a trinity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Son came and laid down his own life to save ours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for our redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him. Although God's creation was created perfect, having no death, sickness and disease, the creation became corrupted through Adam and Eve in them disobeying God. In this rebellion the creation became fallen through the curse of sin and mankind became separated from God. This world is fallen, but God offers reconciliation to him through his provision at the cross. Ultimately God will restore his creation to perfection when he returns but those that who reject his offer of redemption will remain condemned by their sins and go to hell.
      John 1:1,14 KJV
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and THE WORD WAS GOD.
[14] And THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH , and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
      John 1:10 KJV

my good man thats because they were originally one to begin with. How he was originally in the comics and how he has been for decades. Venom is supposed to be a combination of Eddie Brock, plus the scorned Symbiote. Hence "We are Venom" line. Hence the dark dual voice he had in other media for years. Because its not the symbiote doing all the work in there or "Venom" as the 2018 film is. Its both of them controlling the ship. They are both one and dont refer to themselves as venom when separated. Picture it like Vultron or the megazord on power rangers. With out one piece. It not the megazord.

There are only 3 traits that make the Venom Character
1 A human being who hates SpiderMan for ruining both his career and reputation and wants revenge.
2 An alien costume that it hates Peter Parker for the rejection of the bonding.
3 The Alien and the Human bond together to kill the very same man they both hate.
This movie actually filled these 3 points for the character perfectly fine.
But the new Venom movies somehow choose to ignore all of this and instead just gives us a a random symbiote bonding with some random dude and they called them Venom and Edward for marketing.

Because this is how Venom's character was in a comic book. The simbiot didn't suppose to call himself Venom or be a separate being with his own personality in the first place. Venom was born when Eddie bounded with the simbiot that was rejected by Spider-Man. "We are Venom" hence the combination of Eddie Brock and the simbiot. The poison to Peter Parker and Spider-Man.

It acts more like a parasite than an intelligent being, as it doesn't have its own dialogue or anything, the host is in control but they slowly loose their mind. Topher version of venom will always be my favorite , when we first meet him , he’s kind of mean to Peter and then lies on him , keep in mind that it was the Symbiote controlling peters actions when he broke Eddie’s camera 📷 . In my personal opinion I do think Peter went too far when he embarrassed Eddie at their work place , he should’ve just said that if he lies again , he’s telling Jamieson . Keep in mind that is not really Peter doing it , It’s the symbiote controlling his actions . Even when Peter pulls eddie out of venom , eddie doesn’t attack Peter , In my opinion I think the symbiotie gives people a taste of what they want to do but does it in a aggressive way . For example , when the rent guy ask Peter for rent Peter tells him two times nicely to leave him alone but the third time we see Peter snap and yell at the man , clearly Peter does not act like this but he probably has wanted to do this for a long time and the symbiote knows that and give Peter a taste of his desire . Peter even tells Eddie that the Symbiote is like a drug , when you put it on it feels great and then you get addicted to it and you will lose your humanity and morality . Peter basically tells Eddie that he’s sorry for ruining Eddie’s career and his relationship with Gwen . I do feel kind of sympathy towards tophers venom because it’s mostly peters fault . Let me explain , after mj breaks up with Peter ( to save his life from herry ) Peter disability put on the Symbiote suit knowing that it well change him . But in all a good movie and since we have the multiverse , I’d love to a version of a world where tophers venom killed spider man . I’d love to see topher play as venom again , maybe even his venom and Tom Hardy’s venom fight each other . I think that would be cool .

Well, probably not really his fault. He never intended to have Venom in the film but the studio forced him to do so anyway. He also didn't understand how to use the character and thats why it shows in this

Sam liked his actors to be able to do that. Act. His Spider-Man movies were more like symbolic dramas than action movies. Also, that was one of his concept artists ideas. To have the symbiote grip his face, hold open his eye lids, and bring Brock out during the talking. It's a psychological thing that is supposed to help you relate to Eddie more, or at least take him more seriously. Lizard brain mechanics deep in human subconscious where we can more easily empathize with a human.

Though Topher was good for this version of the character. Only gripes still are spideys black suit just being a color swap and then venom basically being the same thing.
Would like to have seen proper symbiote suit for spidey and then Venom actually look like matter not a costume.

Even when faced with a character that, to quote Sam Raimi, "lacks humanity", he still did a realistic version of an alien creature from an unknown planet.
He made Venom actually *alien* , making it speak in screeches instead of actual human speech, and Eddie is the one who speaks for him. The suit just corrupts his thoughts, but doesn't speak for him.
