I don’t see Claxton coming here based on the number of contenders that will be after him. First of all we still have Jakob as the starting center and Claxton is not coming here to come off the bench either way. Until the Raptors move Jakob there’s no point in talking Claxton. I don’t get the hype on Claxton either. You can probably move up in the draft and grab somebody like Yves Missi who has the potential to be better than Claxton. There’s just too many bigs in the draft that can provide some kind of shot blocking instead of overpaying Claxton who can’t make free throws and is going to be a target for hack a Claxton. I would even look at drafting Ulrich Chomche and developing him.

If we are moving on from Yak then i would rather a big who can hit a jumper and stretch the floor a bit. Im not sure if anyone who fits the bill is available though

Raps will make a big offer to Claxton. We can afford it with a young roster, or it will force a division rival to overpay to keep him. I would be shocked if they didn't give him a big offer.

Olynyk isn't quick enough to guard PFs, but he also can't protect the rim like a C. They don't need to overpay Claxton, but they definitely need a back-up rim-protecting big. The team's defense won't improve if Kelly is the best rim-protector off the bench.

If we"re lucky enough that Yves Missi is still available at # 19, we should grab him. Guarantee that within 2 years Missi would be way, way better than Claxton. Missi is raw but, have you seen him play, tremendous athlete, smart as hell, hard worker, fast learner. Like i said, smart as hell both on the court and off the court
Claxton is not coming to raptors, free agents dont sign in toronto. Claxton will go to a winning situation if he is offered similar money. so looking at claxton likely getting 30 million a year for 4 years, raptor probably have to pay claxto 37-40 million a year to get him in toronto. is claxton worth that when raptors are in rebuild, no. also claxton isnt coming to the raptors to play back up to jakob poeltl, and jakob wont agree to play back up center in toronto.
I think they should trade the Toronto Maple Leafs for Steph Curry and Clay Thompson.

I think Rogers should Trade the Leafs for Demar DeRozan and Zack Levine. The Blackhawks could use the Leafs as a farm team.
Can the Raptors do a sign and trade with Bruce Brown and trade him for Dillon Brooks? Then sign Kelly Olynyk. Get your Canadian players together. I'm sure Zack Edey will be pretty good by the time he gets to be around 26 years old. I don't think there is a quick fix for the Raptors. Maybe this is the best idea.

Those players would stunt growth because they're high usage, we want the ball in Barnes, RJ and Quickley's hands. These dudes are early 20's we got them for years. Patience, these dudes are future trey young and paul georges. Realistically Barnes is like a waaaay better draymond green and Quickley is a poor mans curry. Raptors need to start running picks and rolls both ways with these dudes. Those actions will open slashing lanes up for RJ. Theres major potential in these 3 players with the right peices around them..GOOD defenders, rebounders and floor spacers.
