    JBTV was my weekly obsession growing up in the 90s. When this first aired is when I discovered Jeff Buckley. I’ll never forget, I had the tv on and was in another room, listening. When he began singing, I swear to god I ran into the living room: I couldn’t believe what I was listening to. I was absolutely MESMERIZED. I’ve been a fan ever since ❤️

    It is so refreshing for once, to see a show’s host, not trying to ignorantly (as show hosts often do) upstage his guest; and in this case; that young massive star, Jeff, who was about to blow up way too soon like the massive supernova he was...😣

    ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤Wooow 😍😍😍😍 I never saw this interview, I'm going to die of love; I am fascinated when the artist (character) and the person have inner beauty, very luminous and uncomplicated, without a doubt he is my singer - ultra favorite musician forever, this man's voice was unique, powerful and truly exceptional, as well as his music . I loved seeing him so spontaneous, relaxed and funny even though he was very delicate and shy (I loved that about him) but in every interview I read or saw about him he was really a very sensitive artist in life and artistically, He always made some reference or comment to social problems, he was super loving, deep and honest. On many occasions I heard him say that the artistic medium tortured him too much, which is why he had a bout of depression because he couldn't stand how superficial they were and he really hated selling his soul to gain fame or money (which made him withdraw a little). I certainly understand that whenever I entered spaces where I could earn too much money or recognition I chose to stay away, I didn't feel comfortable, nor did I like what I saw or heard there. In the underground, there are still people there with ideals and the desire to leave something better for the world as a person and as an artist. It fascinates me that the artist is something more than a figure of admiration, as Jodorowsky says the purpose of art in the contemporary world (it should be to heal, not to glorify the ego or fill the world with darkness), I could not agree with him, For me, the artist must be a transformative entity, since we have the ability to communicate and transmit messages, that is why I get too bored with colleagues, friends or couples in the art world who do not seek beauty and inspire others, art is a wonderful gift, almost a spiritual gift, therefore it should serve to make this life a loving and beautiful garden that frees you from the negative, vengeful or depressive discourses that most politics or the majority of the world emit.

    Guys I’m making a playlist with all the songs mentioned or played on the interview (really if a single line it’s sung it goes to the playlist) and I really wanted to know what’s about some music videos they show on the tv show, some I can figure out, but there are some I still wanna know… does anyone have the full show that displays it?

    I’m sure with the right management he would have become a real superstar of Michael Jackson proportions.

    • @MojoPin1983
      @MojoPin1983  Před 2 měsíci

      @markstevens6568 I don’t think so. He was already managed by the biggest record company in the world, and he refused to do certain things that would have elevated his name recognition, such as appearing on David Letterman. Moreover, Jeff’s music was too unorthodox to ever appeal to a mass audience.

    • @markstevens6568
      @markstevens6568 Před 2 měsíci +1

      Michael Jackson was a very poor example. Let’s say Kurt Cobain. I am not an expert but a great lover of Tim Buckley’s music and bought his first album as a kid because I liked the look of him and that jacket on the front cover! I’m also a great lover of all of Jeff’s music and feel that what both of them needed was “guidance” which a major record label like Columbia would probably not have the band width to do. Tim’s demise was I believe avoidable but yes I fully agree with you they were both very “difficult” people to manage and for them the music came before the fame.
