Families also enjoy the improved internet access for phone calls!!! Thanks for interesting comments. David, I especially enjoyed your facial expressions as Amy made the comment that it is much the same anywhere. . Confusion. . . Contemplation. . . Nope, just had to say something. You two have really great camera presence!
Great report. Thank you for the time and effort to make this video.
Always happy to help pass along what we've learned. :)
⛵ on . Enjoy the family and friends visits.
Phuket is the most expensive place/area in Thailand :-( And aim for MAKRO for you shopping, very good for bulk shopping !!
Excellent information !!!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Very informative thank you ..
Thanks for the wrap up. Glad you are leaving SE Asia and heading on to more adventures. Can't wait to see what comes next! Stay safe!
The Indian Ocean has definitely been different than anything we'd experienced so far. Looking forward to sharing it!
Whoa, you guys are going to do the Indian Ocean too?! I am looking forward to this. Enjoy your trip.
It's the only ocean remaining (of the big 3) that we've yet to cross. Gotta hit them all to get all the way around! 😁
Love the 10 Thoughts!!!!!!
Good information.
That's a great video. The food is probably the only reason I'd ever go back to Thailand. As an untouched paradise (parts of it 30 yrs ago), its definitely spent.
I think we'd love to do an inland tour of Thailand. Or just a food tour maybe. Yeah, even just a food tour would be enough to go back for!
You need to find a way to mark the proper blocking points on the outside of your hull. Airplanes are covered in stickers saying"No Step" for instance. It can be hidden in with your bottom paint, maybe black lettering saying "block here", or "lifting point here".
Fountaine Pajot did put stickers along the toe rail for where lifting straps should go. And normally our boat sits on her mini-keels, which wasn't possible during that haul out as that's what we were working on. But yes, it's on my list to find a way to mark bulkheads to avoid this happening in the future!
A lot of good information here. Y'all might consider posting to noonsite.com I appreciate what you've done here yet ask you consider making the distinction between 'cheap' and 'inexpensive'.
Thank you for this video guys. Really great.
I have been in Phuket and Phi phi islands etc as well.
And yes, you should have been taking your boat further up the bay to James Bond island and the islands around.
Really amazing and beautiful.
And what you also missed are all the fantastic islands on the east side of Thailand.
And if you go to south east asia again then please please do not jump over Cambodia, Vietnam, and the absolutely amazing south islands in the Philippines.
Much love to you guys!
I love following your videos.
It's a huge irony for us that we we're taking all this time to sail around the world, yet there is never enough time to see all the things we want to see! But that just means there will still be things to see later on in life!
Yep! It's a big world filled with beautiful and amazing places to see and experience.
And you guys are doing a fantastic job doing just that as much as you can. 😊
Can’t wait to share the rest of your journey with you.......well, it feels like I am anyway, ha ha!
Happy to have you along with us!
Would all of your comments about Chandler marine services apply to motor yachts as well?
Are the waterways motor yacht friendly or are th he waters too shallow. Just thinking of shaft drive damage. Thanks in advance.
More discussion about costs would be good. Thanks.
Noted. We'll work on including that for upcoming versions.
While you are sailing around the world and find islands no larger than a square mile I can't get to follow your episodes sequentialy. Managed to get to 80 (with a bunch of missed ones) next is 79, 74, 72, other vloggers. What am I doing wrong! I am subscribed.
Hmm... I'm never quite sure how CZcams works on suggesting the next video to watch. If you want you can check out our "Cruising Adventures" playlist which has all of our videos in order:

I enjoyed the visits from your brother and sister.... hope to see them join you more often.
I really do too. We're a long ways away from Texas so it's pretty special when they make such an effort to visit!
07:38 - Where We Wish We'd Gone - Missing the Gulf of Thailand means you missed a ton. James Bond island sucks
That's a good point. If we were going to spend multiple seasons in SE Asia, then the Gulf of Thailand would have been nice to visit. And some islands you visit for their beauty, others you visit for their name... 😁
Great video. Much better than Sheldon and Amy!
11/23/19: The other day a missile was launched to provide hi-speed hifi to anywhere in the world. When do you see an improvement in service in obscure places of the globe.
Amy and I talk about this quite a lot. There are a few different plans to provide high speed internet via satellite, but my guess is that it's still a ways away. However, I have been pretty surprised by the cellular connections/coverage we've had for most of our travels. That has been improving quite rapidly as well.
I have 13 years in phuket. Pretty accurate obsevations but since you left its doubled in prices across the entire marine industry. Only chandlrys have not doubled. Because they already are double west marine.
Phuket just keeps sliding further and further down the rabit hole of bad government and greed.
However if you have seriouse yacht troubles phuket can get you sorted out.its just going to be very, very costly. The best advice is shop around. You can get value if you look deep and know somone who has gone before.
Shopping around is always good advice. And while some things may be expensive, at least they're there. It was nice to be able find places to get things done after a year of sailing in SE Asia and prep the boat for crossing the Indian Ocean.
Many vloggers are starting to do the discussions as you guys are doing. I have to say some of them are a cure for insomnia. You guys on the other hand make it interesting and have lots of useful information. Thank you for sharing. p.s I like your light hearted sense of humour.
Haha, well I'm glad we're managing to make them useful and interesting. We figure we're heading to a lot of places most cruisers (unless their circumnavigating) haven't been to. So the info we have may be new.
Utube channel Followtheboat spent mouths in Thailand and had good experience with the boat yards
Followtheboat definitely knows their stuff about Thailand and we found a report on their experience at PSS when we were researching options. Unfortunately, I understand that the yard manager who was there during their major refit is no longer there and perhaps that's why our experience wasn't as good.
OMG you have to create smell sensor in your vid's ! all that nice food soooo yummy 😋😜. great episode again, fair winds 🌎⛵️☀️

Sad to hear about the rubbish and plastic on beaches. You would think that the Thai government would be onto that in a big way to protect their tourist assets.
OK not a cruiser but why did you need a Visa unless staying more than 60 days? Americans qualify for a 30 day visa exempt free and you can extend it by 30 days. If staying over 60 days then a single entry tourist visa will give you 60 + 30. As to 20k Bond well you "may" be asked to show proof of funds 20k per person on entry very occasionally. This is more for the begpackers coming in. I have done both many times land and air never lucky enough by sea. As to your your fine this is a new and possibly temporary thing it may well be forgotten soon It is just the chinese influence to keep track of those tricky farang. Supposedly this can be gone over the internet. It is basically a proof of address thing.
Posting videos from one year back. I feel neglected. Unsubscribed.
