Sound the cornu should be the main theme
"We the people" is the best for me
@Graysen Solomon bot
@Riley Maxim also a bot guys. fairly elaborate advertisement huh.
Laith is dragging Imperator out of its ashes and into the light, truly the GOAT
Paradox so intent on pretending Imperator never existed that its the only main game they have put out in over 10 years that doesnt have the soundtrack posted on Spotify - the fucking soundtracks for EU3 and Vicky 2 are on there and Imperator's isn't absolutely insane
The best music, the best era and the best map. Simply forgotten, what a shame.
Play Invictus. Modders are doing a better job patching the game than Paradox would.
just like the empire
say what you want about Imperator, the music absolutely slaps
From the worst start of a Paradox game to one of the best in its history with the 2.0 release to the biggest victim of a series of Paradox blunders. Still, at least we have this awesome music.
@@thefourthrabbit9516 So is the game any good rn?
@@ivlivsvalerivsmaiorianvs3884 Gameplay is much less tiresome compared with other paradox games and the mechanics (and even the interface) have improved massively in 2.0. Personally like the history content, which fits the atmosphere of the time and allows unique gameplay (especially with the new Diadochi updates). Great to have a try right now that the other classic titles are either in overhaul or early development.
@@ivlivsvalerivsmaiorianvs3884 Best paradox game imo
@@ivlivsvalerivsmaiorianvs3884 yes and no. yes because its one of the better paradox grand strats, no because it needs a lot more content and the removal of mana
Oh my God.. "Hero" is amazing.
15:20 should be in a trailer. That is the most inspiring music I've heard in a long time..
yes. I'm here because of hero I love that bit
"The siege" is also a masterpiece, no wonder mappers use it so often, it fits perfectly.
Red Sun is definitely my favorite. Its slow nature and almost sad tone really gets that warm feeling to me. sends shrivels down my spine sometimes because it sounds so good
Shrivels?
Bro has shrivels@@doofsdoofs
Right? Same here :)
Oh paradox, what a wonderful music you commissioned. Jonatan Järpehag, that's a beautiful and moving music.
Thank you!!
@@Bojonatanjarpehag If you really are him....your music is brilliant, mate
@@ivlivsvalerivsmaiorianvs3884 i am. Thanks ♥️
Whatever the game would or would not be, I already love Jonatan Järpehag!! The tracks are epic. Music Almighty.
The soundtrack fits along with the various events in the game very well. Good job to Jonatan Järpehag
very well made soundtrack. the siege and elegy were instant favourites.
Listen to we the people.
"The siege" sounds awfully familiar to "The last samurai" soundtrack.
@@tomasmartinezcoronado6987 yup that is why i like it most :) hans zimmer vibes are strong in that one.
@@fkaraman8298 If you like Hans Zimmer, than the track "Oceanus" will fit the bill. It's almost a direct rip from the Gladiator (2000) Soundtrack.
Its beautiful but nothing matches "Eagle fly north" from EU:Rome
Hello! I would love if you gave me credit in the description of the video! Have a nice day!
Sorry Jonatan! I didn't know who the composer was.
@@OriginalSoundtrack no problems 💓
@@OriginalSoundtrack How did you get the music files from the game?? I'm trying to make a music mod but i can't find the song files location... can u help?
@@kovacs00111 If you want the music, I think the only way possible is to record in game sounds with everything down expect for music.
I search in the game's file, no .ogg in sight.
You are extremely talented!
This (and OST of Stellaris) must be the pinnacle of Paradox soundtracks. Gorgeous stuff.
Imperator Rome has an awesome OST. Stellaris I find mostly (with a few notable exceptions) meh.
This music is absolutely marvelous.
Oceanus is amazing. Bought a tear to my eye for some reason. Wonderful music.
It's a great piece- It's somehow slow yet energetic, moving between highs and lows like the waves on the sea the name makes one imagine. It's also strangely melancholic, evoking a certain sadness.
Thank you guys ❤
10:11 idk why but Family gives me a serene yet melancholy vibe especially after 12:30. Compared to Roman(especially medieval Eastern Roman)history it feels like the beginning/ending period of a golden age but the Empire doesn’t know which side of history they’re on yet
Stunning. Absolutely breathtaking. Thank you Paradox Interactive for making such great soundtracks.
Jonatan Järpehag, oh my goodness, this is absolutely brilliant. I love it!
I love it when Hero starts to play just as you are about to win a war
this soundtrack made you feel like caesar
Лучший саундтрек за всю историю парадоксов, даже лучше стеллариса (ИМХО)
Мега подходит под эру
I am addicted to the Nightwatch track. What a banger!
Sound of Cornu is epic!
Beautiful Roman music! Thanks.
I play this game for 1/3 gameplay 1/3 glory of rome 1/3 this soundtrack.
1:11:19 is my favorite. Sounds so peaceful when you watch over your empire.
Peace was never an option
@@arta.xshaca A true Roman🍷🗿
Nightwatch is an amazing song for a game, Hero comes in close 2nd. Nice work.
14:20 The song Romaboo Ramblings uses all the time
Excellent music, I listen to it when I do oil paintings, Thank you !!!
00:43:29 liked most!
And then you lost the rebellion/civil war 😭
Tyrrenum and Hero had no right to go that damn hard
Listening from South Africa 🇿🇦🇿🇼
This music is simply amazing for reading absolutely anything Roman related. Especially fiction, but non-fiction, too.
mostly non fiction.
@@andreavoigtlander1087 I dunno, man, reading Shakespeare or Raffaello Giovagnoli while listening to this OST was a real treat. To each his own, I guess.
@@user-ym2ne1zg1b Shakespeare wrote stuff about Rome?
@@senseishu937 Caesar; Antony and Cleopatra. These two come to mind.
There are even articles and whole books exploring the topic of how Shakespeare did try to represent the fall of the Roman Republic and the rise of the Empire.
I just stopped by to say holy shit this soundtrack rivals major film and TV OST's out there. Silk Road is by far my favorite, it just inspires so much awe and happiness. Helps me write my fantasy Greco-Roman book series i'm working on. Cheers!
I sure do love that one too!
Have you written your fantasy?
@@clementchan496 Life got in the way for now, and it's on the back burner, though I do write down new ideas and notes to comp at a later date.
i use this playlist when playing ck3 since this soundtrack is so much better
Thx❤
Best way to play as the Byzantines is with this sound track
@@BroMaxIIIByzantine not even included in major factions but best nation in ck 3
knights of jerusalem is good
2 years later, they still haven't fixed the bug that prevents half of the OST from playing.
No time! Gotta do some more DLC-whoring.
Paradox really dropped the ball on this one. With mods after 2.0, it's very close to great... Still, it could have been the most amazing grand strategy game if they just focused more on the lore & dynasties. It just needed a tiny bit more CK DNA and a bit less Victoria DNA and I'm convinced it would have been a hit. They should have tried to learn from why people loved the Europa Barbarorum mod for Rome Total War. I know a lot of people are really upset, as am I, because the classical period plus paradox interactive sounds amazing, and this came pretty close. Hopefully they take another swing at it eventually.
Anyway, Jonatan Jarpehag did not drop the ball on the soundtrack. This is almost a perfect OST for a classical period strategy game, and one of the best PDX soundtracks period. I am probably biased as someone who loves a lot of different classical music. This gives me some Holst/Poledourous/Beethoven vibes.
Sound the Cornu, The Siege, Nightwatch and Karthago in particular are all just like fucking *chefs kiss* good shit son.
Beautiful
I've heard less than half these songs in the actual game.
Apparently it's a known bug so hope it will be sorted out soon
there is a bug with the music player in which only 3 songs played.
@@paint_thinner Has anyone over at PDX playtested this game? These bugs are ridiculous.
@@paint_thinner So far my bug report has not been confirmed by the devs - I hope they get their act together and fix this quickly!
@Joachim Murat I'm a fan of your cavalry charges
Hegemony, marvelous!
Hegemony 🔥🔥🔥
Sound the Cornu is the most Roman sound i've ever listened
Ikr
"The Siege" is straight out of The Last Samurai. Sounds so good though!
Red Sun and Caesarion are absolutely amazing!! Love this album overall
Northland and Hero are definitely the best out of entire soundtrack!
Thanks!
Im really glad they fixed this game. I have so much more to do and Ive just started.
Another great paradox of music, by Paradox.
00:52:42 Kartago is the most beautiful song in my opinion.
Oceanus man.
I've been listening to this OST for about a week now, and it seems like I'm changing my opinion on what the best piece is every other day. :D What initially drew me in was Hegemony, then I got stuck on Our State, and now it's Cleopatra.
The soundtrack calms my mind
Is it a rule that games set in Rome have all the best soundtracks? This game, Rome Total War, Expeditions: Rome. I sense a pattern here.
Hegemony is beautiful OMG
Thanks!♥️
Best soundtrack in any Pdx game besides maybes Vic II
And Stellaris, ffs.
Surviving Mars... beatiful music and more than 5 hous length
I personally was never a fan of Vic 2 music, a few tracks here in there I really enjoy, but the rest sounds kinda meh? I'm no expert but just for me personally, it's never tapped into my inner emotions the way this, Hoi4 and stellaris do, just my opinion tho
@@Jerimbo It's about how the music fits the time and adds to the immersion. Vic2 manages to do that in a way a few other pdx titles could do at the same level. Think industrialization, enlightenment, the plight of the working class, the royal courts in that period... All those are depicted perfectly in Vic2.
@@adebowalekonstantinov404 yea i learned to appreciate more about Victoria 2 since I said that, I agree, it really adds to the immersion, I think Vicky 2 is just peak paradox grand strategy, I wish their newer games had the political climate and economics of Vic 2
I can already tell this music will be good without even playing the game.
the first song literally embodies the turbulent and slow upbringing of the republic in my mind
I really like the music. It is cinemaworthy.
Thank you!
I play Rome II with Imperator Rome as soundtrack
BASED
It's been a long time Imperator Rome..... You were always the unloved kid of Paradox. I loved you but Paradox didn't, after screwing a DLC for EU4.
I:R died, that Vicky3 might live. A bittersweet ending, if ever there were one.
Seriously fuck Leviathan, though.
Sadly vicky 3 garbage
I love love love sound the cornu
The siege and Elegy. Best songs
This music make me sleep every time
I have fallen in love with this game and this sountrack. All the other games are good, but this one? Being capable to turn the tide of Greek Hegemony back to its glory its amazing. And all the times i played i only have played greeks and Heracleia Pontica.
Vic II,
EUIV,
IR,
HOIIV,
CK
My favorite Paradox games, ranked top to bottom.
I cannot name any of these musics as my favorite because in my opinion all is great and this shows the music department was great. Also I recently started to play the game and bought with discounts on it. I think it is worth the time what requires. Still my best series is Crusader Kings and Hoi but this one reminds me one of their early ancient age game they made long long ago.
I litterally work out to nightwatch. Shits so intense and induces a need to be disciplined
When's this coming to Spotify?
When's this OST coming to Spotify?! 🤦🏻♂️
Probably never unfortunately. They like to upload crappy soundtracks nobody has heard of.
Awesome soundtrack.
Reminds me of Zimmer's scores for Gladiator (kinda obvius =D) and The Last Samurai.
Sometimes it gaves Basil Poledouris's Starship Troopers feels aswell.
Had a similar thought about the Poledouris vibe. I'm left wondering if Järpehag drew inspiration from Poledouris' compositions for Conan the Barbarian.
Actium!
i repeat Hegemony in my mind every couple days and i dont know why😂
When the drums come in on Nightwatch 😫
❤
Is the one at the end of the trailer there ?
Double like
Elegy
The "Cleopatra" one has some parts similar to the Hunger Games theme
Caesarion! my favorite so far!
edit: wait Red Sun is so good too...
The only thing about the release of Imperator that is not a disappointment.
Alexsander Rain dude what are you talking about?
@@alexbaseball4684 the game itself is disappointing. At least as far as I am concerned.
Alexsander Rain dont worry. It will get better have faith.
@@crackshack2 After 200$ worth of DLC? maybe.
who even buys paradox dlc thankfully we still get the patches
The Siege is the most beautiful
Imperator... why you have gone
01:01:36 is peak comfy
42:22 What is this intrument called? It sounds like a type of horn? I love the entire soundtrack but this deep sultry sound offers a nice contrast to the more bombastic nature of the soundtrack's other instruments. I would love to hear more music featuring this instrument!
Edit: I found out it's very probably the 'Duduk'; an ancient Armenian double reed woodwind instrument made of apricot wood (Wikipedia). It has a very melancholic quality to it, love it!

Duduk!
@@Bojonatanjarpehag Yes you are right, though I had figured that out already (click "show more" on my comment) :).

I must admit though, I didn't realize at the time who responded to my initial question 😅. But yes, as the composer he would certainly know the various instruments used in this beautiful piece of music. 👌
@@janruudschutrups9382 👍
My favorite song is the civil war
Is the song from the Launch Trailer included or was it just for the trailer?
Is it possible to use this as background music in other videos?
Me moving the arms like an orchestra director.
I like nightwatch
Did anyone say Roma invicta ?? :)
Rome is our mother
Roma invicta et aeterna!

1:37:26 I don't know why, but this is the best part for me personally.
In my opinion the last song is the most beautiful. We the Peapol.
beautiful soundtrack, middle bad game
not with this new dlc thats coming out on 16th game is going to be GREAT
Nowadays the game is the best Paradox game ever imo
Waldetoft didn't do the soundtrack? :O
I, FLAVIUS CLAUDIUS JULIANUS PIUS FELIX AUGUSTUS, IMPERATOR CAESAR DOMINUS NOSTER, FIND IT STRANGE THAT SOUND THE CORNU HAS NO CORNU IN IT
There are cornus in that song!
The first horn-crescendo is cornu for example
No one gonna talk about "we the people"???
Don't own the game. Just here for the study music.
Do your videos get monetized?
karthago really sounds like that dragonball song
21:00 This pains my heart.
when i play the game i never hear this mostly same songs over and over
