    Thanks Scoop - someone has to provide this information to the general public. The fact the Mikrotik still hasn't documented how fq-codel/cake is supposed to be implemented in routeros can only be described as disappointing.

      the documentation woeful. This is like Nokia's symbian OS, very capable but the polish is not there. If Mikrotik isn't careful, someone else will create a similar product with far better polish to draw in none network engineers but competent techies.

    Amazing, recently migrated v6.48.6 to v.7.4.1, installed FQ-condel and working very find, but, high cpu/memory consumption. ☺

    cake type with bandwidth setting detected configure traffic limits within queue itself.
    Please explaine? Whats wrong with my config

      Yes it does when using queue tree instead of simple queue as long as parent=(not global). Example:
      /queue tree
      add max-limit=20M name=download parent=bridge1 queue=fq-codel
      add max-limit=20M name=upload parent=ether1 queue=fq-codel
