    There are a couple of problems with this video.
    Queue 1 gets renamed to LAN - but that is not explained in the video
    Queue2 later magically gets renamed to Server.
    Just to be clear, there are three queues: LAN, Server, Other; where LAN is the first one created, Server is the second and Other is the last. Other than that, very simple tutorial. Thank you!

    • @mikrotik
      @mikrotik  Před rokem +5

      Yes, but names don’t matter, as the order of child and parent queues are explained, if you are following along

      @@mikrotik While I agree with you, since names are mere tokens, and have no intrinsic value when the software is running, but that said, someone unfamiliar with this might get a little confused. Thank you for your reply.

      @@mikrotik consistency in examples do matter. I also had to double check, in case some sort of variable "LAN" was used which I haven't setup.

    Queues have always been one of my favourite features of RouterOS, even though I'm not an complete pro at setting them up and there seems to still be a few minor issues with queues in certain situations. If you spend a good amount of time fine-tuning your queues you could really benefit in the long run, especially on busy links or slower or contended internet connections

    This config also limits your LAN bandwidth. You need to specify the destination to avoid that.

      More than likely you didn't setup any mangle rules so the firewall is busy processing every packet passing through it. Need to setup rules for the initial packet and marking the connection.

    • @mikrotik
      @mikrotik  Před rokem

      Disabling fasttrack makes the traffic be processed by the CPU. If it is making your download slow, it means you need a faster CPU, to do queues and other CPU intensive tasks.
