On April 24, 1970, the first man-made earth satellite "East is Red No.1" was launched into space, marking China's entry into the space age. On October 15, 2003, Yang Liwei boarded the "Shenzhou 5" spacecraft and successfully went to and from space, becoming the first Chinese astronaut to visit space.
