Good morning, everybody. As you know, I did a breakdown on Jett Lawrence and the rest of the field because, again, he's leading the championship and I've got a lot of requests and things to do to do one on Eli. But I watched Washougal again last night and wow, wow. Those two guys, Eli and Chase, man, those dude are hauling ass.
I don't think I've ever seen anybody ride motorcycles as fast as they have. Yes, the equipment is better than it's ever been, but that the technique and everything is going right now, the speed that they're going is it's almost like it's almost like a moto GP, you know what I mean? Just attraction. They're getting the momentum, they're holding to the lines that they're setting up.
It's it's amazing. So let me break this down. So you look at Eli, you look at Chase, you start with Chase. Chase is so soft on the motorcycle, so patient on the motorcycle. Every bump that he hits, you can just see the body, you know, just, you know, I guess move with whatever that bike is doing, whatever the track is giving to the bike.
There's just such a softness. There's almost a patience to him and there's a smoothness to him with the throttle and all that. I think the bike is working really well. May be probably the best right now is suspension wise, but how is he doing that? I feel that's all through technique because in that class he has the best technique of everybody.
He's on his toes, his hips, his back, his arms. Everything is in a position to allow his body to work at his optimum, at the strongest, most stable, most coordinated, most efficient position. Because if you're going to do something so dynamic as motocross, well, then you better be in the best position. Just like if you want to go fast as they are, you better have your bike set up and balance.
Right. So that is one thing I see with Chase, with Eli. He's just more Alpha, man. He's just more alpha, you know what I mean? I mean, you just see it in his ride. It's like, that's Alpha man and then kind of beta men and just he is on the gas. He is so damn aggressive. But why can you do that?
One is because of strength. He has the fitness that he has now, the confidence that he has the years and years and years of doing what he's done for so long at such a level has made it just instinctual to know what when he gets on the gas, what's coming next? Yes, that bike is working. Really well for him also.
But with Eli, you see, you know, he has he's on his toes, his hips are out, his back is straight arms. Everything is is good, but he does have a little bit of a top to him when he's riding a little bit tight. And you seen it in the past and I've talked to him before, is like when he when he hunches and rounds a little bit, you know, he struggles a tad when he lengthens out on the motorcycle, chest up, hips out.
He's unbeatable. So but the thing is, is what questions me is and I've been the same when I battled with Browny and Langston and Lampson and, you know, all these guys, it's like when we're going for the championship and anybody's going for the championship, can all of a sudden bring that pace to a new level, to a completely new level?
I mean, there being these guys by 40 seconds, which in the beginning of the year, whatever it was, neck and neck. And why is that? Because they're battling for a championship. And so when that happens, you can bring your ability to a whole new level. But my question is as well, why can't we do that all the time then?
Why only when it comes to this point, what is it? You get more focus. You know, the fear of failure maybe goes away because you have to ride at this level, you have to perform at this level. But so it's kind of a strange thing and it's cool watch. But what I see with those two guys is they're so strong in the bike, they're loose on the bike, they're flowing on the bike where if you drop back in again at Washougal, not the beginning of the year because that was the past and not in the future.
But right now that's all I'm talking about, as you see. Dungey. Dungey has you were neck brace forever. Sorry, but it is what it is and you'll see every time he lands there is a bend in the knees and then a sit, even though his hips are out a little bit. He talks a little bit, but there's always a bend in the knees anytime he lands hard.

I'm thinking that Eli knows that chase and himself feed off of each other's energy on the track .
And by both riders knowing that it allows them both to push each other to their maximum limits on the track and it somehow gets themselves to tap into that
    ATHLETES ZONE of perfection !
Watching These two race against each other is a complete thrill to witness and like you said they are riding on a whole different skill level of motocross racing !

Hey you Ladies and Germs, see that #12 red, white and blue Honda gear in the glass case to Ryno's left? That's his year 2000 Motocross Des Nations gear where Ryno and two other guys ended Team America's 3 year loss streak and WON that baby, brought the Chamberlain Trophy home! Ryan, what is that hat you're wearing? RYNO POWER? Is that your company?! RAD. Oh yea, the "other two guys" on Team America that year were Ricky Carmichael and Travis Pastrana, you may have heard of them.

Your 100% right about the inability , or rather refusal of our sport to instill the TECHNICAL/ANALYTICAL breakdown of techniques and how it corresponds to speed or results.
I agree with you sure the equipment always progressing , however we can agree the difference from say a 1995 to 2005 factory machine vs 2005 to 2025 is not an apples to apples comparison . The TECHNIQUE however in those same time periods is.
You are carrying the torch on this , keep up the good work

I wish sexton would sit down a bit more in the corners cos he wouldn’t fall at all, brill to watch this mx seasons racing 👏

I have been so pessimistic about the sport today and for good reason, but I actually think we have a shot at the MXofN victory at Red Bud, (which I will not make the short 4 hour drive I have done many many times in the past,--because it is too expensive over night, and the entire area of lodging joined the fun. The FIM must be soaking them for a million or more bucks.), with Chase, Eli and Justin Cooper, (who will be going, trust me. And he will do great.).
But even though I think they have the talent to beat the best in Europe this year,---they only have about 15 guys on the MXGP starting gate, so the worst we can do is 6th. lol

I never broke a bone from motocross, and what I teach riders, to try to replicate that, is to follow a simple rule: never ride faster than you can control ☝ that means never 101%. And if you're really good you can win at 99% like Dungey or Herlings. And BTW Herlings admitted he likes going 110% which clearly cost him a few easily won championships at his 95% 🏆 Love your videos and wisdom Ryan but I think it's more productive in this to use this approach regarding why some people crash more than others.

Ryan man, I have a theory and I wonder what you think about it. I like to use JMB as an example, (the best in the world in 1991, and made it look easy), but I know there are others, like Lechien all the way back to Joel Roberts. Some guys get very smooth, and they do not do much "off the bike" training. They rode a lot, (and Lechien did not even do much of that for a time because he had that much talent, (best in the world in at least one race). My theory is, "When they got tired, they simply figured they were doing something wrong and were successful in correcting their riding style to be effortless, which translated to speed. They did not train much. They got that way somehow, and I can see that method working. What do you think?

Eli's riding to me is poetry in motion and you nailed it Ryan, he is Alpha! I'm tired of hearing about Chase's perfect riding style. Chase is awesome, but no one is talking about the number one most important thing "THE MIND!" Eli has the mind of a champion. Chase has the mind of a choker. I've seen him choke over and over because you have to have a mind of a champion if you're going to be a champion at that level.

    • @morley3810

Ryno is it possible for anyone to be a champion?

  • @onthethrottle7104
    @onthethrottle7104 Před 2 lety

Eli's outdoor motocross riding style is poetry in motion and that's why he's so dominant in motocross. I'm sick of hearing how pretty Chase's riding style is, and what you should be talking about is how Eli has a mind of a champion and Chase has a mind of a choker. I've watched both riders, even when they were on minibikes, and Eli has always had a mind of a champion, and has that spectacular ability to keep it together in the most thick of all things. Meanwhile, I've watched Chase throw many motos away, even when he had long leads and also blowing regular races that didn't count. The mind is where it's at, regardless of pretty style. If your mind isn't 'championess' you will not make it to be a "true champion", especially at this level. Every single dominant sports player has a mind of a champion (Tom Brady, Michael Jordan, Mohamed Ali, etc. etc. etc.). Real champions have an ability to take things to a totally different level leaving others behind. Never underestimate the importance of the mind when dealing with true champions.

Can I help you with CZcams… I do social media management, basically I clean up and make them look more representative of your brand and it’s quality. You are one in a billion of a person. Your coaching is next level. Just think you need a tiny bit of help with the set up, camera quality, sound and just thumbnails, tags alone need to be cleaned! Just a thought, I’d do it for free especially for you and all you’ve done for me as a rider and fan

Please let him know I can help if y’all can. I’d love this channel to be the next moto hot spot for tech and coaching. I see a future of him having a full app and website with weekly training and tracking progression. Plus private classes all over the world done by streaming to your app.

Eli has a weakness, (but I have not seen it on the Yamaha). He is sensitive, (hippy parents in CO.). If he gets bumped, he has had the habit of slowing down. So Chase could take advantage of that weakness,----and bump him. Just apologize, and do it again. :)

That’s exactly what I said at the beginning of season. Even though chase is larger human and great on the bike. You just look at eli and you see a man on the bike. But yes he is a man against children mentally and physically. Chase may edge eli out but I don’t see it. Not this year.

How do they exceed others in their field?
They have good fathers and they trust and believe in their fathers.
    Father and son, pals forever.
Their fathers are their coaches. Who else is there?
    Periodization:
could it be that only Chase's dad and Eli's dad have built progresstion into their maintenance phase?

If anything chase is alpha, he's new to the 450 game and still beating the best of eli 🤷

The race bikes are too fast for the tracks these days. JUMP, JUMP, JUMP with those 50hp 4Ts - it's boring and dangerous at the same time. Outdoor 125 2T MX and 250 2T road racing is the best for riders and fans.

  • @EarthSurferUSA
    @EarthSurferUSA Před 2 lety +1

I say Chase "Broke" Eli in that last moto. Now Chase knows he can win, and Eli knows Chase can beat him. Beating Eli heads up is one thing, but Eli quit in the last 2 laps and dropped off the pace he needed to win. It sure would have been better racing if there was a couple of passes made though, instead of being the fastest parade on earth.

He's only at that level because Eli has elevated him to it though. I don't think he would have gotten there on his own. He's following an alpha. Good analysis by Rino.
