SxS Down Pritchett On The Trailer

- We got a call about a SxS that flipped on Axle Hill on Pritchett Canyon trail. We were told one front tire wasn't attached. So we took the wrecker and the trailer in to get it. We got through down and dirty and up chewy hill without issue. We had to winch up rocker knicker after a couple attempts. Then we got to axle hill and got it loaded on the trailer. We started down and got to rocker knocker and it was so dug out I didn't want to drop it straight down. So we went down the traditional up line. I've personally never done it, and I'm certain nobody has ever done it with a trailer. Then we got to chewy hill pretty easy, then repelled down it with the rear winch. We had to use the winch to get up out of down and dirty. Then a pretty easy drive back to the trailhead. Thank you everyone for watching and supporting us.

Rory constantly demonstrating why he's the king of Utah offroad recovery, the communication and teamwork with his team is top notch too. Way to go Mike.
Facts
Matt’s Off road all day!
@@damagemanMatt’s offroad specializes in Rental recoveries…
Just kidding but Rory and his guys are the best at this in the environment they work in…
Matt calls Rory for advice and help. So no, Rory is the Top dog. Without question
@@WooooptywoopMatt is that guy who goes into everything like a bull in a china shop but still gets it done because his determination is the only thing he can't break. Rory on the other hand is like watching a ninja gracefully use his top notch pedal control to tiptoe through obstacles😂
I don't know why anyone would argue with Rory. What he did is not easy and he does ALL of his recoverys like he's parking a mini-van at the mall. Rory has AMAZING skills so don't argue and enjoy the show. I take my hat off to you Rory. And Mike, you always bring that extra to the video that we love. Great job fellas 👏
That has to be one of the best recovery clips I've seen, and without any CZcams hype. Well done Rory and Mike
Rory, 'drives,' Mater a block while Mike runs and scrambles and sets cameras and spots and does commentary and sets winch lines etc etc for half a mile. I sit here on my recliner mostly just breathing, totally amazed, again. You guys never disappoint. Thanks for the fun!
Rory is the Yoda of off-road recovery! The videography and editing are superb! Thank you, Trail Mater!
“Recover or do not. There is no try.”
Definitely a Jedi master but speaks and looks better than Yoda!
I'm not sure Rory would be a good fit for the Jedi order but i could defiantly see him as a sith overlord
Aww. Ya got there before me :)
An independent planetary (very rocky) Overlord, neither Jedi or Sith, but generally kick-ass anyway? @@lSpamUpl
DAMN , Rory and Mike making the impossible possible! WOW the places that you put Trail Mater and the trailer never ceases to amaze me! Job well done ! Hell yeah!!
How many videos have we told Rory how easy he makes things look?
When it looks this hard, it's probably near impossible for us mere mortals!!!
Thanks for sharing 🇨🇦
It's as if he designed the course. Rory meets the challenges like a physicist.
With every recovery you amaze me with your precision and masterful technique, your unbending persistence to get your trucks and rescues out as carefully as possible. You, sir, are an inspiration- and a hell of a lot of fun to watch! You, Mike, and Shawn are an exceptional team. Thanks for a great video!
Thanks for taking the time to bring us along. Also, thanks for explaining what you're thinking as you're doing 'stuff'. Your videos make me a better off roader. 😎
One of my favourite videos so far. Very technical, and lots of team work!
Rory, you just raised the bar for rock crawling recoveries! Impressed with the accurate rappel winching. Most would find that trail highly challenging even without dragging a trailer. Without you they'd need a helicopter to keep that landscape free of broken junk.
I love watching Trail Mater’s videos, learning from a master craftsmen practicing his art. Thank you guys for another great video.
I am always impressed watching you drag a trailer in and out of Pritchett Canyon.
Mike is a natural at camera work. Great recovery, driving, spotting and videography.
Ok, I know this is weird but watching Rory turning the front of trailmater while the back stays in one place is one of my favorite things to see. Reminds me of a horse doing a pirouette in dressage. Yep, I’m a horse loving crazy old lady but have learned to love the crazy recovery guys of Utah and all their shenanigans! 🤷🏼♀️ Plus I’ve learned so much about the area, what not to do if you go off-roading and most importantly who to call when, not if, you get in trouble! 😉👍👌👏💕
That was one great recovery. The trail is obviously gnarly for just to vehicle let alone one pulling a trailer with another vehicle on it. This is why Rory and crew are the best. You guys ROCK!!!!
That was gnarly! Poor little TrailMater deserves a spa day after that. Great video as usual from Mike. Thanks for taking us on the ride along.
My daily driver is a square body (1980 K20) and watching this is just amazing. I have no words for how mind boggling hard this must really be. The filming is world class, the talent and skills behind all of this is just top shelf guys👍 never change.
I'm amazed at the terrain you guys traverse with those machines. The front Diggs the rear Diggs the winching. Alot of skill and experience 😊
That was amazing. It’s unbelievable what Rory, Trail Mater and Mike can do.
ThIs was an excellent episode! TrailMater chewed up those extremely difficult obstacles and trails like it was a walk in the park. Phenomenal driving Rory!
Trail Mater and Rory are a legend among legends. You guys are all a great team. Thanks for taking us along on your journey through the rocks. Bob
IMPRESSIVE!!! Prime example of performing an impossible task. You possess some MAD skills maneuvering off-road Rory and you have awesome helpers in Mike&Shawn. Great job! One of the best episodes yet, keep up the good work. See you next episode. Grateful devoted FAN from Bergen, Norway... 🙂
Trail Mater and Rory in beast mode as usual, but that little trailer is the star of this episode. It took a beating like a champ. Great video, guys!
Good show!
You and trail mater never cease to amaze me that recovery looked very very challenging but you mastered it like it was nothing. Great job, Mike and Rory.
Does anyone else catch themselves holding their breath while watching these guys pull of recovery after recovery?😮😮
It’s amazing how it all works out!
Absolutely amazing recovery, I’m truly amazed how Rory can take that vehicle up and down those rocks whilst towing as well. Great job.
Wow...that was gnarly!!! Nobody does it better than you guys! No broken trucks, trailers, side by sides or thumbs!! Excellent! Thanks for letting us hang out for a while!
I've kinda come to expect Rory to pretty much climb stuff I would never expect anyone to be able to with 'mater and that trailer, but some days, I'm even like, damn, dude! You guys rock! (no pun intended)
Mike’s intro was perfect!
Mike's comment about the Doritos is a good example of how simple it is to show decency, a small gesture of gratitude shows class.
That was the most impressive recovery I’ve seen yet , very well thought out and calculated. Great job guys
You guys NEVER cease to amaze me. Great stuff.
Great camera work mike really showed the crazy angles. Thank you for this 🙏🏼
I’m astonished what you guys accomplish. Incredible just to get a truck pulling a trailer in there but then to take the trailer loaded back out, is almost unbelievable. Something tells me without you guys having nerves of steel and going in after those broken rigs, the landscape would be littered with broken down ones.
Nevada National Guard uses stuck abandoned vehicles for helicopter practice.
Otherwise, the Nevada backcountry would start to resemble a junk yard.
@@TheBandit7613 nice to know! Thanks. 🤙🏻
Geez Louise. Trailmater's capability and Rory's skill set never ceases to amaze me. This rescue took it up another notch.
It is always fun to watch you guys make seemingly impossible recoveries almost simple! 👍👍
Oh wow! I’m 67yrs old retired certified welder for pressurized die tanks. I’ve been welding for 40 yrs. I am so so so so so “Impressed “ with the person who built that bulletproof trailer! Talking about straight up abuse and stress on all the joints! That trailer is a tank in disguise! I love it! I enjoy all your videos!
Amazing as always, well done. Probably one of your most scary recoveries.
Oh man what a difficult recovery this was it was very challenging for Mater and when you add the trailer and a SbyS it only complicates everything. Rory and Mike are the pro's at these types of recovery's as challenging as they are.
Master class in offroad recovery as always. Keep up the good work guys and stay safe out there. 😎🇬🇧
Mikes commentary and videography are the best!!😃 Pritchett is hard enough without a trailer and a SxS on it!! Awesome job as always Rory!!💪
Your ability to take a trailer places a mountain goat wouldn't go is mind-blowing!
Rory that has got to be the most impressive off road recovery I've ever seen thank you
Trail mater would be nothing without your driving skills, Just love how you negotiate these mountains, carefully and precise, Fantastic to watch, Thank you Rory
The number of vehicles that fail and you rescue them without totalling your vehicle/s says heaps about your talent. Thanks guys, great team effort.
One of your best videos! (1) I doubt that any military on Earth has a vehicle that can traverse that terrain while carrying and towing a payload. (2) All hail Mater's 200 lb flywheel! (3) Mike has the toughest job. Drive up, run back down, do winch stuff, do camera stuff, run back up, rinse and repeat. (4) I wish we could hear all of the edited-out banter. The tidbits at the end of the vid hearken to some awesome wisecracking. (5) I'll stop now.
Tough recovery and a great video. You guys are the Moab Monsters of recovery. Mikes commentary is always entertaining. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Watching Rory roll a tow truck and a loaded trailer over a hundred boulders and not break anything. It just blows my mind.
I have seen a lot of recoveries from you guys, but this was insane: There ought to be a special award for this kind of precision work, so gentle!
You guys are just masterful. Artists, technicians, engineers, mechanics, drivers... all of it. The amount of know-how crammed into pulling a trailer over that terrain blows my mind. Using vehicles you designed and built!
Mad skills, Rory. I also really like the scouting sessions and explanations you throw in
Man, that drop with the Buggy on Rocker Knocker was insane! That musta been redlinin’ the ol’ pucker factor-O-Meter! You guys are the masters, Period. Great work!!! Easily one of your best videos in terms of explaining whats got to happen. Killer job fella’s. Way to crank it up to 11!
Rory is the man that maneuvering a big old mad Max looking tow truck with a trailer what a bad ass
America 🇺🇸💪🏼
OMG Rory, I have bitten my nails off watching this recovery, I don't think your going to match this one any time soon and Mike's camera work made a video no one can match well done 👏 you 2 ❤
Rory reading the rocks and picking the lines like Moses reading off the 10 commandments and crossing the sea. Epic work fella's , I'm always on the edge of my seat and curling up my toes watching you do what you do,
Pritchet Canyon is becoming extremely challenging. And to take a tow truck dragging a trailer with a dead SXS is an exceptional feat! That poor old Chevy really takes a beating. And to think most 4X4's can't make it through this trail. Your videos are always fun to watch! 😁
"A little Spicey" Man, I know what it's like once you're committed!! Awesome driving !!
This is real wheeling, so much cooler than racing / rock bouncing !
That was one BAD ASS RECOVERY for man and machine!!! Thanks for sharing the adventure, you guys are king of the OFF ROFAD RECOVERY!!!
Recently visited Moab and the boys. The trails are scary and Rory, Mike and Shawn are exactly like they seem on video. Good ppl. ❤ Thanks for spending time with us. 😊 We did Engineer and Fins in our rental. Had a blast.
I wonder how many miles Mike walks/runs on a recovery like this? Setting up and retrieving cameras, spotting, pulling winch lines, stacking rocks, and the best commentary ever. Hands-down the best trail camera dude / spotter / heckler in the biz. The shot at 3:05 is epic and going on my office wall. I don't know how much you pay Mike but it's not enough!
Thanks !! I appreciate it!!
Every so often that swiss army knife of a truck and Rorys wizard like experience come together and accomplish a truly impressive feat, while Mike documents and narrates it all for us to enjoy like the David Attenboro of Moab.🤘🇺🇲
Yes trail mater💚❣️💥⭐ Happy Saturday!
Great content guys! Every recovery is an adventure!
Great driving, and awesome camerawork, Mike! 😉
Can you say " Complete Package" This channel has it all. Rory and his crew provide quality entertainment and footage. Watching them recover just about anything with wheels out of any environment with equipment that just flat gets it done with techniques that show this fella has been doing this awhile and if it ain't broke don't fix it. Can I get a Hell Yeah?
Watching with a beer in hand is great. Got a great group of friends for whenever I tackle Pritchett the 1st time with my TJ.
Rory is definitely the goat of off-road recovery. Moab definitely has the hardest trails to consistently recover with that trailer. He needs in there good job, Rory Mike great video.
Rory’s driving skill, teamwork and trailer design is what makes this possible. Without those big tires on the trailer it would be a lot harder to go through all those obstacles. Impressive to watch. Trailer tires look bigger than trailmater.
Same size on both.
Rory, I just love your rig. Your are the king of the rocks. Hauling a trailer up those rocks, it´s unheard off. God bless you and may His angels continue watching over you.
Something I like about watching Rory, is the fact of how in tune he is with Tow Mater.
Knarly stuff..you and Mike are such a good team...great filming..one of the top ten episodes for sure
It’s always great to watch someone who knows what they are doing well done Rory and Mike did a great job of spotting and recording cheers for now
I have never watched a CZcams video as intensely as I did today. Really appreciate you showing the thought process as you’re going through this. And on top of all that you guys took the time to record it!!! Amazing team work! Wow! Thank you so much for this!
For those of us who have wheeled Pritchett many times, this is an even more impressive video. So well done.
HEY! Good morning and thumbs UP!!
Real content, no filler!
Recoveries with the trailer are my favorite. Getting through the obstacles is impressive, but doing it without causing additional damage to the customer is amazing.
Great video!! You guys continue to surprise me with every tow. That was some really gnarly country and you navigated it extremely well!! I still can't believe the places people get stranded and need a tow. Aaaannnnnnd THERE YOU ARE!!! Great work and excellent videography. What a team!!! Thanks for letting us see what you do!!!
It always amazes me on these more challenging trail recoveries, but what I’m also very intrigued to know is how much these customers pay for the experience and expertise of Rory to go in and get their downed rigs. Becouse it can’t be cheap. Quality ain’t cheap now a days!
Good job Rory!! Excellent work
It must be something to be out with your friends, enjoying tackling these trails, then stumble on Trailmater and Rory pulling a loaded trailer through an obstacle your jeep might barely make it over
Also, thank you for not turning it into a commercial!
Wow, excellent video. Love Rory’s driving, Mikes camera work, and the skill of your editor! Best rescue channel on CZcams. Thanks from 🇨🇦
Holy Geesus H. Christmas!!! Most impressive Trail Mater recovery yet! That was mind-blowing! Others may do tough things at times, but Rory and his guys do the absolute impossible!
Keep up the good work love watching you on CZcams god bless
Trailmater is an absolute unit
It would be really interesting to see a portion of a video dedicated to understanding how you’ve set up the transfer case to enable the front dig and such. Tech tip Tuesday. Thanks guys. So awesome to watch your escapades.
Probably a NP205 with a twin stick upgrade.. lots of videos out there on how to do it.
No other way to put it, you guys are GOOD at what you do. Thanks for the great video.
Mike is such a wiseass and I love it
I'm always amazed for the fact that you're not just doing these trails on 35's but you're doing it with a wrecker towing a trailer! 🤙
Excellent videography, commentary, and recovery-I enjoy hearing the how and why explained. Rory, y’all could definitely facilitate a clinic to teach folks the things they need to know about navigating the rocky and sandy trails of the desert.
Hope you guys post something to help draw attention to help save the trails. Most people have no clue what is going on in Moab and how to fight losing our trails.
Stay on trail and pickup your Bleepin trash😁
True statement and wish it was that simple. Going to take a lot more than that to fight off SUWA. Most people have no idea who maintains the trails, signs, etc. Organizations like Moab Friends For Wheelin' and Blue Ribbon Coalition need help support and donations. Lots of uneducated people running the trails that could change things if they were made aware. @@LaDonnashielded-kc7zm
@@LaDonnashielded-kc7zmwhere could one read about the “current events” of what’s going on down there? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
@@desertdog2008Everything I know about Moab, I learned from Rory, otherwise I have no clue. Going off trail and litter are some of the top reasons trails are closed. It's not only in Moab or Utah. See group TREAD Lightly. It's about Respect of our land, resources, artifacts.🇺🇸
I read an article a few days ago, don't remember the source, that a majority of the trails have been closed already. Supposedly due to the disturbance of hikers from the dust, noise, and high speed danger. Going off trail and leaving trash is a big part too. Basically, SXS ruining it for everyone else. Not all, but the majority. They should really just open a SXS park so they can destroy their own area and stop thrashing our trails.
Rory the magician, It’s a pleasure to watch you and your team maneuver thru the boulders with 70’s era K30 none the less. What a beast!!!
So, I find myself holding my breath while leaning to the side so I don't tip over!! Lol. Rory, you are the man!! You & Mike make a good team. Thanks for the help you give to people in need. ❤️😎❤️👍❤️😎❤️
WOW what a recovery. GREAT job to both of you. I would say you earned your money on that one, but probably not. Every recovery takes it's toll on the equipment! !! !!!
It might just be me but I really don’t understand running side by sides through the rocks seems like it just destroys them.
Rory you are really an incredible off road driver your understanding of the terrain and how your rig behaves is a joy to see you are the best
11:52 "Not so much here, or here, but right here." 😂
I'm with you on the trailer brakes--I doubt they'd be useful often enough to justify the maintenance headaches. That said, it seems they would have been helpful today ;-)
Always enjoy the content!
