I still can't believe it's finally been released. This is basically the Kaiserreich version of TNO.
I’d say it’s closer to the Kaiserreich version of TWR given the era, yet it’s even closer to the end of the war than that mod is, given Kalterkrieg picks up what I interpret as mere days after the fall of the UoB.

It’s not a narrative-based mod like TNO, it has more orthodox gameplay

There's also another Cold War submod for Kaiserreich titled Krasnacht: Twilight of the Gods. So far, development seems frozen or outright dead but who knows it might come out someday.

i havent played the mod yet but lore-wise and setting-wise it's my favorite mod. i spent 2 hours clicking through countries and loved the lore
I played a game as Canada in this mod and finished just before this vid dropped! How I feel about kalterkrieg is that the base is interesting and I like the scenario but it just doesn’t have enough content at this point. I played as Canada all the way from 48 to 56 and nothing really happened. Well to be fair some things did happen but I had no impact on them. I couldn’t really make it so Hawaii joined the entente, and there were no proxy wars or anything to get involved with. Things just sort of happened. “Oh Brazil joined my sphere? Cool”. The spheres and Cold War balance mechanic things also don’t seem to do anything at all. Supposedly WW3 can start but in my campaign it just didn’t. I did help my allies win the 3rd American civil war, but the only thing that happened was that the US reunited and never rejoined my faction.
Anyway, as I said the base seems good and I like the scenario, so I’m sure the mod will get better with some updates! Canada at least at this point was genuinely just me sitting at my computer for 3 hours not really doing anything…
Yeah it definitely needs more content.
True the mod is only on beta 0.1 version, they surely will expand the mod to make it even more interesting

Wish Paradox wouldn't scrapped East vs. West: A HoI Game, but at least I'm glad that we could even play it bcs it was leaked online a long time ago (along with its incredible music that we nearly could have lost). I wonder if the future Espiocracy game (about Cold War period in our timeline) would have mods like this (but maybe HoI4 have more tools to work with, even if a Cold War-type scenario doesn't fully fit in a WW2-based game).
I believe Austria did intervene against the Russians, I watched a bunch old lore videos from 2-3 years ago when I found out Kalterkrieg was actually going to release.
I honestly can't believe this mod is out. Looking forward to this!
My only critique is the East. I think it would’ve made WAY more sense if Russia had lost but signed a conditional surrender at the end of the war.
In the mod, russian front is frozen active conflict which reignates in the first year or so if russia refuses to leave ukraine or germany pushes for 1936 borders. If you assume the start is JUST after internationale is fallen it kinda makes sense

Wow this actually looks really cool! But honestly i think the setting would be slightly cooler if the CSA won the 2ACW, or just won all the land area the Union State gained
The CSA as a whole being extremely overpowered is a remnant of the KR dev team being full of troon pinkos and there is no reason now for there to be an actually strong syndie movement that would rival people like the black legion, klan, or AFP
@@stronggoodies3871 Your argument does make sense, But If the ACW lasted as long as in this timeline, overtime the syndies could attempt to influence the population into rising up. and i just think the idea of the CSA winning would make the world more intresting, It would be cool if there was One syndicalist nation still standing, And they could attempt to Increase their influence by proxys and coups, Then try to Reunite America, which i would also think is more intresting because With the Reunification of america because the States Would be less aligned, leading to a possible war.
@oligone9epic33 with full entente or reichspakt backing of the AFP (which I don't even like the afp canonically as a faction and think they the kx COR is a much more lore friendly south) it would simply be a losing war of attrition for the syndies. Furthermore the idea that anyone outside of the rust belt would rather be under syndicalists than a return to normalcy is preposterous
@@stronggoodies3871 Tbh, thats a very good point lol. I agree with you on that, The cooler Scenario might be the Syndies winning, But the more realistic scenario would be the AFP, Even if they dont have full support from the south
@oligone9epic33 yes I would've liked to see the syndies as a counter balance and a "wrench in the gears" of the rest of the world, but the AFP still had a lot of potential IMO. Personally I would've rather had the kx COR be the "natsoc germany" of the world in the Kalterkreig tl but oh well.

@@vemmotheshitt9678 As of now the gameplay for kalterkrieg is just quite dry and boring. I just think krasnacht had a far better concept that kalterkrieg just tried to be like.

@@uckbritley1305 It's been in development for six years now. I appreciate many mods get set backs but in my personal opinion I don't think its going to get much better and its unfortunate that of the two post war kaissereich mods we got, it was the one where Le Austrian Panzer arrives
@@Fyrd_ProductionsI am confused because Krasnacht and Kalterkrieg basically were opposing continuations of the Kaissereich timeline. So I am not sure why you are saying that Kalterkreig that to be like Krasnacht?
And regarding the development of Krasnacht itself, very little was actually made besides concepts and the lead dev went AWOL. Old lore was jettisoned for flimsy justifications and the mod basically died.

Kaiserreich doesn't have a canon ending, unless you consider the images from the loading of the mod, then maybe. The realistic outcomes is either Kalterkrieg or Krasnacht
