- Here's a video about what I think it's the best sounding GT3-class car I've ever seen, the BMW Z4 GT3. The car is moved by a 4.4 liter V8 engine which is able to produce 508 bhp at 8200 rpm and a max torque of 515 Nm.

The exhaust note that the Z4 GT3 produces is borderline euphoric.
what is that mean..?. im still searching for reasons why do this v8 sound differ to dtm v8 engine..and also differ to v8supercar australia..

nick van beekveld yes ,but maybe the firing order differ to other v8 ?? such as crossplane and flatplane

+Getahun Girma yep that's because it uses the 4.4L V8 from the M3 GTS
The P65B44 engine powering the race Z4's was based on the M3 GTS's S65B44 but it is not the same engine. The P65B44 was ONLY used in the Z4 race cars (GT3 and GTE).
Just FWIW: M/N/B = standard BMW engines, S = M division engines, P = race engines
but but the m88 was not named p88 in the 1980s ? :p

Forgot to mention that american road's are totally shitty. this beast belongs on the race track
an instan before take the car out from the garage, and you end up damaging the suspension due to the bumps.

Thats a nice thought, but a big heavy V8 in the front of a small roadster? Handling would be compromised wouldnt it? Leave that type of nonsense to those lunatics over at AMG :-)
KHAAAAAAAANNN Considering the S65 V8 out of the e90 M3 weighed a little less than the S54 in the e46 (which found its way into the Z3 and Z4), I don't think weight would've been an issue.

Awesome!!! Went to the Long Beach Grand Prix and watched the AMLS race...the Z4's took 1st and 2nd in their class. They are very impressive to watch on the track and NOTHING gives the same awesome sound's at the Z4...they growl with a sound similar to the old CanAm V8s!!! Thanks for posting.

Mrbaioslaio: I don't know how do they sound like in FIA GT or Blancpain races, but in the ALMS race in Mosport BMWs had quite equal decibels with Corvettes. Ferraris sound different since they have flat crankshaft. Strangely enough, Porsches in ALMS were pretty silent. In Rolex 24 at Daytona Porsches were damn loud.
I was surprised at Long Beach this year at how awesome they sounded, especially modulating the throttle through turn 10 it was awesome.
If you disregard the exhaust note it sounds a lot like a NASCAR cup car actually.
