@@SkateClipsAndTips cold war was 1st cod i played in 10 years, absolutely loved it. Bought mw3 off the hype.. and regret it heavily despite being top 2%. The problem is that people keep buying it when their development process is only a year long, company's can only deliver on so much.
At the same time Activision is greedy in general, they only care about delivering shit untested games in short sprints and getting payed.

I got MW(19) and vanguard for free because my friend since Black ops didn't want to play it alone and wanted a gamer bud again. Got MW3 on it for free as well and stopped playing it the first few months. I didn't like the feel of the zombies.

I think people are running a little too far with the whole "Treyarch's using Ai" thing. It really seems like they're just using it as a tool to save time making rough sketches or trying different designs. This wouldn't really reflect what you see in the final product if that's true and every studio likely does it to some degree.

The IIII made sense because BO3 logo was the same style design font, they stuck with the theme & made a shield logo which the IIII fits that design

@@lewgallagher463 it was styled in a way with the outside Roman numerals were mirrored with a top & bottom extensions on the outsides, makes a sorta unique shape. The BO4 logo is the same mirrored sides just an extra numeral in the middle & the bottoms extend at an angle to make a point.

BO4 was the last time I genuinely had fun playing COD multiplayer, hoping for the best with BO5, but the existence of EOMM makes that very difficult. Hopefully it's the return to zombies that the community has been waiting for.
Treyarch salvaged BOCW from Sledgehammer in 16 months and still somehow released a pretty decent COD across all 3 modes. As someone that was burned by MWII and skipped MWIII entirely, I am still very curious what a 4-year developed COD game looks like, especially when it's by Treyarch, which is EASILY the best COD developer at this point. I used to be a big Infinity Ward guy, but in recent years they've proven time and time again they don't even deserve to make their own CODs anymore.

I've been on a hiatus since season 1 of MWII, so I'm really looking forward to a return to black ops 😅
I don’t think it’s accurate to say that all foliage and trees and stuff in older games were hand placed, it’s true to the extent that maybe developers would choose the general area these things would be or perhaps hand place some foliage or trees here and there for specific purposes but a vast majority of that kind of stuff has been getting procedurally generated for DECADES now, even as far back as Daggerfall
Watching the gameplay in the video, I actually really enjoyed Cold War. I love Treyarch, so I am definitely curious to see how Gulf War will look like.

For real though, why is the sixth Black Ops game going to be called Black Ops 5? COD ain't even trying to make the names of their games make sense anymore.

Because cold War is a direct sequel to black ops 1 and the theme of black ops is hidden history of war throughout time unbeknownst to all.

I think it makes alot of sense.
Think about it, Cold War originally wasn't meant to be their game.
They took a Sledgehammer and Raven game and turned it into a Treyarch game.
The V to me represents them going “we've been there from the start of the game” yes Raven is making the Campaign but they've proven that they can do that and besides, they're probably closely working with Treyarch writers on that.

It doesnt make sense to name it black ops 5 cuz if its gulf war, that means its set before the events of black ops 2, and as of now, BO2 is considered cannon to the Black Ops cold war and rebooted MW series, unless they choose to reboot black ops 2 and make the original not cannon anymore

Since the campaigns of BO2 and BO3, as well as the story they tried to tell through operator missions and blackout in BO4 are no longer canon, they should just name each Black Ops game for the era it takes place in - Gulf War, War on Terror, etc.

I feel if Treyarch seperates warzone and bo5 then people would play it because the only reason for these bundles is warzone since it's free to play. This would also let devs make whatever they want in their games like they did with jetpacks.

I like it BOV is simple however if it's not Gulf War I don't think I'll keep interest as I don't think we've had a game set in the Gulf War which I think would be a perfect mix between MW and BO but who knows we'll see if I don't like it doesn't matter I can always play Cold War or older especially if they add CoD to game pass

A big thing this year is they better fix the "kicked for inactivity" glitch that caused me to get kicked out of the game while I was using a chipper gunner I earned.

The way I see the AI: you could feed it what made cod great, use some of the resources it provides, then scale, balance and test. Microsoft has been pushing AI, and let’s be honest it’s been surprising the things it can do.
Everything from realistic sound syncing down to casing falling or surfaces…
…To maps being designed in ways that studios just can no longer do..
Imagine a maps design can change based on 1v1 - 6v6, without the devs spending “valuable time” ❤

I do have a few thoughts.
First, I don't really care too terribly much about the naming convention of games, but it really would've made more sense to call the next game Black Ops VI.
I'm not going to make a big deal out of it, but it'd just be nice if they stuck with giving the games Subtitles, or calling it BOVI.
Second, AI could definitely be an issue if they use it as a crutch, but AI is just a tool that could be used for the benefit of the game.
If this is an AI only fed data on COD then it wouldn't be stealing from people(it'd be all Activision/Microsoft owned assets, art, music, video, sounds, etc.)
I wouldn't want maps, weapons, or art to be made by AI, but I wouldn't care if Treyarch(and the other studios) used it as inspiration.
My example would be if they want to make a maps layout they could feed all their map data into the AI, and it could give them some examples of map layouts that are something that they could've realistically came up with on their own.
Then they could tweak it, and actually handcraft the map.
They could also use the AI to determine where the best placement of Objectives should be based off of player data/behavior, their own past maps, and the design of the map itself.
Another separate use would be using AI to line-up textures better, or to make make models match with animations better.
My last(and best/most preferred)example would be having the AI fill out the out of bounds area of maps.
If you fly out of bounds in maps you'll see that there is a wide variety of high quality, and low quality work/assets that come together to make the outside of the map look massive/filled from the inside.
If they could use AI to do that for them it'd save a lot of time, and would allow them to spend more time actually designing more MP maps for the launch, and for future seasons.
I wouldn't want them to replace any VA's with AI(At least not without their consent), or make models/maps/textures completely using AI, but AI isn't inherently bad, and I'm not anti AI as long as it's used to enhance the game, not create it.
Lastly, I don't think we really have to worry too much about Vonderharr not being there anymore.
There is plenty of new and old talent that should be able to carry on his design philosophies.
He probably had little to nothing to do with Cold War, and the only thing that people consider truly bad about MP was the way Scorestreaks work.
