When I was young Italians were called “wops”,”dagos”, etc. The terms are not around at all today. Why? Because we Italians respected each other enough to not use these derogatory terms. They just disappeared from American culture over time. Black culture single handedly ensures a derogatory term against them lives in the forefront still. First they were called “Negros”. Absolutely nothing wrong with that term but in the “60s” they insisted we call them “Black” so we did. Then in the 90s it was “African Americans” though many black people are not American.

As a Milwaukee native, I can tell you, whether Trump actually said it or not, Milwaukee does suck lol there are nice parts, downtown, summerfest, good beer, etc, but that doesn't matter. In the grand scheme of things, Milwaukee has a worse per capita murder rate than CHICAGO. Let that sink in....

My uncle rents out part of his building for a (black owned) barber. I do the hvac work for my uncle and whenever I go there there are always a bunch hanging out. As a business owner who has dealt with loans I can tell you that if you are a black person or a woman the SBA will hand you loans way quicker. In other words if you are black or a woman you have many advantages in small business so it's far better to support white-owned businesses because they don't get any assistance like that.

Erectile disfunction and an urge to gamble
A doctor talked me into taking an antidepressant. Everyone told me I had to take it for at least 30 days to be able to tell if it would make me feel better. I quit taking it on the 31st day. I ended up with involuntary jerking at night, and would wake up with my jaw locked shut. I would have to massage my jaw joints to get them to open again. This lasted on and off for 2 years. In less your depression is severe, I won't recommend these drugs to anyone.
While a do agree that these drugs are way over prescribed, I have been on a low dose antidepressant for several years now. I struggled with depression and substance abuse for decades. I always held the view that you seem to about the drugs but I got desperate enough to give it a shot. Anything was on the table at that point. I don't know how and I don't know why but it helped me. I've been clean and sober since 2018 and I still have my marriage and kids that I very nearly lost along with a new career path. I do understand the views you hold, because to an extent, I still hold them. But I think that in extreme cases, for those who have tried everything else, it is worth giving it a try. Just my thoughts.

I guess I don’t understand the concept of entering into a life long commitment called marriage if you haven’t dated with the intention of aligning your values and your goals with that person you are vowing to be with for better or worse till death do you part. Granted, I understand things can happen (I myself am once divorced from a young impulsive marriage) but if you both hold common fundamental faith values then the odds that either of you simply walk away is greatly minimized. I dated with intention after that divorce so now I have zero worry of ever going through another divorce because my husband and I meant till death do us part. When people stop entering into marriage with the secular idea that this can be dissolved at the first instance that one of you are “unhappy” you will see less divorce and the need to know about the property laws in divorce of your state. Also, if women drop the feminist ideas of being a girl boss first before you take a husband, rather building a life together with one, then there is no mutually exclusive property to worry about. I’m not saying anything here that Matt hasn’t said numerous times in his podcasts.
in regrades to the new movie, the story of possum trot; When we adopted our children, we tried to adopt through the state. We where older and had patience required for special traumatic circumstances. We knew it was not going to be easy and would require both time and resources. We were open to older children of any racial background. Little did we know it was only the DCS we had to fight. They judged us harshly from the moment we started with them. They said we were only 'children shopping'. To the state/DCS, adoption represents failure so we were not welcome. We found out custodial parents have to try and do-away with their children 3 times (yep 3 near fatal abby-use occurrences) before the state would step in to try and save a child. Since we were older, after a year we decided on international adoption We were no where near state adoption after a year of verbal state abuse. I feel sorry for all those kids.

As a pharmacist, that combination of pills isn't even uncommon. Anyone who claims depression either gets Prozac or Lexapro. Buspirone is fairly common. Hydroxyzine, while an antihistamine, can also be used for anxiety. And lorazepam, once daily honestly isn't even a lot. It's like Xanax. But there are people take it 4 times a day, so once a day isn't really that crazy
What I found notable is the shooter's 22 years of so-called treatment when she wasn't a lot older than that. Also notable is the fact a nurse practitioner was writing prescriptions for her. In my experience, nurse practitioners are often young and aren't typically high quality. I thought only doctors could write prescriptions.
In my state, nurses can't, but nurse practitioners can. They're different. And yeah the 22 age thing seems weird

The prolific use of prescription medications has become so pervasive, imho, because nurses (or nurse practitioners) are doing the job of doctors. Doctors and nurses have very different roles; nurses treat symptoms, before they become prescribing nurses, they give patients the medicine that doctors prescribe. That is what nurses are trained to do, physically care for the immediate needs of the patient. Doctors, however, are taught to look at the symptoms together and find the underlying condition or disease, and fight that. It's really hard to diagnose a big issue when the symptoms are being masked, or worse, different symptoms are being created by treating symptoms.

It's actually pronounced "Mill E Wah Kay", which is Algonquin for, "the good land". 😁
