Good job in getting the motor out and I hop everything goes well
The famous Overboard Motor, water cooled, with dive in technology and go under anywhere modus! 👍👍👍 Dive in and pull out 😄😅
WoW glad you survived this...So many near misses in a single video...
As always, I always enjoy watching your videos Alfred. With the Mercury Outboard Motor ascending that fast, it’s a wonder that it didn’t get the bends! 😂 I think that having a little less air in the salvage bladder; just a bit more above neutral buoyancy, would have been a whole lot better and much safer. I’m glad that you two made it out safely, and that expensive Mercury Veraldo can enjoy another day out on the water again.
Браво ! Молодцы парни ! Хорошая работа !
да ладно, где? ))
I was happy to see this as a part 2 and relieved you handled this well. Nice job👌
OMG! Wisdom comes with age, if you live long enough.
I haven’t dived for a while but I realized I was subconsciously equalizing during their ascent, lol. Cool to see old school analog gauges.
Ready to see it running
Love it!! People love diving videos!!! Let’s do more!
Let's just send that engine flying and hope the rigging does not fail and fall on our heads. This is why we have professional divers not scuba divers who think they can do everything.
You are the man. Mahalo from HAWAII!
I love your Rolex sea dweller 🔥✌🏼
this is hell of a find, ill give you a big short thumbs up buddy good job👍🤔
6:06 Thats such a cool sight!
The first thing I saw that worried me were the loose bights around the outboard's lower unit. Then there was the uncontrolled ascent. They're lucky the the line held, other wise they'd have to wonder which way to go as the outboard came down like a big fluttering sinker. I've done salvage diving and worked on ships for 30+ years. Always keep positive control of a load or you're going to have problems. His hand looks like it might have been the result of getting it caught between a mooring line and a bitt.
Agree. This video is a great tutorial for what NOT to do. Just because they got away with making so many mistakes, it does not mean they were good, just lucky.
Worse is that because they got away with the mistakes, they are not likely to fully understand the unnecessary risk they placed themselves in.
I never EVER trust the decision making skills of man with half a hand.
Ohhhh, big man
Shaking hands with Danger and diving with four finger Joe.
John.. Don't be silly. The boat on the surface can see the airbag, the two divers don't have to follow it up.
The knots were more than enough to secure the motor from coming loose. Those are self tightening knots under load.
nice direct charge mercury engine
Tats a nice lift bag...
Good job boys!!! Mission completed. So many things to say in debriefing. Try to invest in a dive computer and a carabiner to attach the spare tanks or another acessories. Half price of GoPro you can buy one good computer and the carabiner. Kepp diving and have fun.
why do you need a computer??? Didn't you learn how to plan your dives???
@@OldSkoolF Have you ever needed to recalculate your dive whilst diving? Plan your dive, dive your plan is not always possible you know..
300hp Mercury Verado for sale, like new condition, needs new starter so I can't start it but at this price it's a steal of a deal. $10,000. Won't last
Let's give these guys some credit for their bravery job
The guy taking the video was in complete panic mode when descending looking at the gauges every 2 seconds lol. The other one looks to be in complete control of the situation. It's simple go down quick to 100 feet , check your gauges , secure the engine, go up and do your decompression time , no need to panic. If is was myself I will also have a pony tank on my side just to be safe but that's just me . Great video and great recovery
Albert Rodriguez He didn't zero his gage up top during his predive checks either. They rushed this job.
Zero his guage??? How many dives you been on..... ?
5 minutes at 97' doesn't require Deco.... Just in case everyone should do a 5 min safety stop at 15' . BTW 100' is just about as far as most should ever go....
OldSkool 55F100 the needle that let's you know the deepest your analog depth guage gets to wasn't zeroed, he was struggling to turn it back while descending. If you use a computer it's not really necessary. The fact he cared enough to fight with it when it would have been easy to notice and adjust on the serface during his predive checks shows lack of attention to detail. Having the anchor on the wrong side of the lift bag. Not doing a controlled accent. These guys got the job done, but not how I have been taught.
@@DocRigel Well I see you know your detail... Are you NAUI? LOL
Cant wait to see this engine running again
machew2009 can't trust it ever only good for anchor like it was JT
Excelente🇩🇴🇩🇴🇩🇴🌎
Excelent!
As the motor goes streaking to the surface skeg first and punches hole in waiting recovery boat.
That motor flew 10 feet out of the water and landed IN the damn boat! The air in the bag expands as it goes up so that damn thing was nearly full by the time it got to the surface!
@@hotrodhog2170 Back in the late 90's /2000 I worked in Egypt as a dive guide and instructor. Many times I had to go back down and free up a anchor, they were made from reinforcing bar and hauled up by hand.
Used to take 2 ropes when tying off on a WW2 wreck, as had one give way not what you want with 15 dives getting ready to go in lol
Buen video la mayoría que hacen buceo no muestran el tiempo de descompresión
I’d say that was just as good as finding gold 👍🏽
Can wait till see that motor running ! This series is better the games of thrones!
Not sure about the deep dive comment, BSAC used to be 50m max air dive limit.
So 35m was considered a normal depth nothing deep about it. Did a few 50m dives
on WW2 submarines which were considered deep but I suppose to many people
who do PADI holiday dives 35m may seem very scary. Rubbish knots a few half
hitches and hope the engine didn’t come past them on the way back down lol.
Great dive though I do miss stoney cove on a Winter morning down the black hole
at 35m zero viz waiting for my DV to freeze up. Lol
Hello! What watch do you wear?
yes and one needs to learn how to tie a knot in the time messing about I am surprised he didn't run out of air?
Damn, I kept waiting for him to stop inflating the bag. One big long fill, I knew that thing was going to rocket to the surface. I’d have been swimming away fast, that Verado would be quite a hit to your noggin when it slips out of the rigging when it hits the surface.
Eu teria prendido o cilindro na mesmo sistema do bolsão de ar .
Excelente trabalho.
Qro saber ai, qtos metros eles foram pra baixo ???, e porque eles subiram bem devagar ??
José Junior 30 metros

You need some kind of line grab device to hang that tank during your safety stop.
Wow incredible 🤩
Спустится пол беды а вот поднятся, терпения ныжно сильное.
You could have fast forwarded through that safety stop and shown the engine being lifted out of the water.
There is an entire series of the recovery and restoration of that engine on a playlist within my channel
what was the capacity of that lift bag bro ?
And this is why I get payed for my job...
Thanks guys

By three minutes in I'm thinking body language/resp. rate is too frantic. Then fumbling around lashing & in the wrong place. "Oh, this is gonna be good!" Led me to expect the uncontrolled ascent. But I still almost involuntarily put my hand on top of my head. Oh, man you lucky boys! Unfortunately these guys are likely the type who'll then begin telling everyone they're pros/know what they're doing. Then they'll convince some "victim" -s to go with them next time. Their future, &/or someone else's, is the scariest thing about this vid.

Dit sumbudy frgebt to do up da bolts ?
GOOD JOB DIVERS !!!
These guys are pros..
You should explain in the description how the motor got there. How did it get there? Accident?
Look at my channel I have an entire playlist of the accident
Useless without the link to other video
Or you could just explain it here instead of being a dick.
No.
Someone thorugh a perfectly good outboard in the drink on purpose.
Yeah that’s smart, let’s launch it to surface just for it to gain even MORE speed as the air expands
½ of the time spent at 97 feet was wasted by not prepping for the task before making the dive. that bag should have been ready to go before you hit the water.
Let alone tying it to the top of the lift bag lol Also have a ring on the lift air tank and clip it to your jacket, that way BOTH hands are free...
@@theessexhunter1305 Should have just clipped the tank to the airbag and been done with it!
@@hotrodhog2170 The vid shows it all, go team air bag lol
100 %дилетанты. При нормальной подготовке, на остроповку не более1минуты,. . Тогда и режим рекомпрессии не потребуется.
GPS hold worked as advertised kinda
I need a tohatsu 50
I was scared by the Red Fire Fishes... one could be hidding in or behind the motor

I love the comments all of you guys are professional! But I see no videos of you diving ! Good work fellas !
As a search and rescue diver this is what we are taught and teach not to do.
Rady Philips the guy missing half a hand obviously does risky shit. I’m gonna go out on a limb here and assume that he operates in a different lane than you.
That was cool af. It sucks every time I watch a video there are so many couch captains throwing shade in comment threads. Positive advice is rarely given. Always belittling and negativity... Bs...
Ok that’s a fair comment. So here is the advice.
(Bring a line down the shot line along with the bag. Inflate the bag to slightly below positively buoyant. Attach the line and leave the motor at the bottom. Stow the spare tank on loop on a lanyard on the bcd so both hands are free to control buoyancy and monitor ascent rate and air, and so one is not distracted. Alternatively it could attach it to the motor which stays at the bottom. Stay closer to each other (eye contact)to monitor each other. When everyone is safely topside then haul the engine once everyone is aboard.)
For sale 300hp ran well last time as it should no low ballers!!!
UNCONTROLLABLE
that's a find wow
Home made lift bag??
if the benz wasn’t a thing i would’ve caught a ride up with the motor
Always asked myself do they ever fall off the boat, for the one it did that had to suck cruising along then all the sudden no engine sound.......
Uncontrolled ascent from 97 feet!? Was the next recovery from the moon?
👍👏👏👏👏🇮🇹 complimenti bravíssimi 👍🤗🇧🇷
Great, now slightly used motor for sale!
I'm a little surprised you were doing a recovery that deep on a single cylinder
Any good diver should have no problem going that deep on one tank, should have about 10 minutes at depth before having to surface .
Numbers estimated or rounded.
per fortuna che i miei allievi no fanno un recupero simile!!!Dove è il controllo dell'oggetto in risalita?Spero che l'oggetto risalito non gli sia ricaduto sulla testa!
I am a PADI scuba instructor. These guys are not aware of the correct and safe procedures associated with scuba diving and more so on underwater salvage recovery. Please, if you're going to do this kinda stuff at least get trained on stuff that will keep you safe. All I can say is these guys were lucky!
What popped out in my mind was the fact that they let the thing run away without doing a controlled ascent...
wrong procedures
lucky they made it,not properly train.seem a little nervous
like a PADI instructor would know whats safe. Put Another Dollar In. padi students might as well have had no training.
uncontrolled ascent. took their eyes off of it. they would not have known if it came loose until it cracked them in the head
Was that Mike Nelson?
new series of “300hp outboard adventures” season 1
Is this the motor that came of the rib, in your other video
Yes
Alfred Montaner what are you going to do with it?
@@onepiecetrapremix4263 I'm in the process of fixing it. We will see soon of I was successful
Good work guys... Nice breathing control... Lets see one of haters post a video of them doing better... I gotta find my Blacktip video.... LOL
I dont do S&R but this looked very unsafe and it went too fast up
I admire your optimism but I'm not sure if you are going to do much with the engine. Its a shame the hood was lost, I bet that's a major expense in isolation. What worries me is the amount of salt water that came out in the post dive video along with a small amount of oil. Standing by for the next video with huge anticipation!!
You can easily 'pickle' any outboard...as long as you NEVER try to start it, before you pickle it...engine should be FINE, considering it went right from recovery to pickle.
Skeeter Saurus but it got submerged while running when it initially came off the boat. Wouldn’t that cause major internal damage?
ппс рыбка покупателю движку показывала , а тут в латексе налетели ...
There was a whale there somewhere while blowing the bag up, he sounded sick or injuried .
Oooh....wish I could speak whale
First of all you both were down @ 97 feet for less than 5 minutes (4 minutes to be exact according to your video time.) No decompression data, on your person, they do sell plastic decompression wheel charts giot down with grease pencils that you hang on your wrist. Never rely on memory for decompression time and depth. In this case just ascending slowly and breathing normally for the depth and time would have been sufficient. I also saw some panicking when ascending. Apparently poor planing was used. Since you already knew that you would go to 90 feet as marked on the motors. Also you guys should take a course on tying knots. A timber hitch and one clove hitch knot on each of both ends secured to the air bag ring would have been a lot better than 6 half hitches. Last but not least, you had no control of the ascension of the motor, it just flew out of you hands. Boy this was a good video on things not to do while diving for a salvage. You have good diving equipment, but poor diving knowledge.
Very poor diving knowledge safety first guys
Poco no ninguna muchos errores en el decenso y acenso la suerte que fue poco profundo y el tiempo total de buceo es menos de 15 mn ese es su suerte. Nada puros kamikaze
Clusterfuck. I’ll use this in some of my courses as the non example.
you're the non example
Yeah must admit I felt the same way, astounded someone praised the breathing when my first thought was the opposite. Bit surprised to not see them looking up to where death could be raining down lol.
Крутые 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 парни 👦 👦
5 minutes at 10 feet should do it.
15 ft......
Good place for it . Cuz my verado blew at 69 hours lol.
To bad they floated it without having anybody up top on their boat. It took them so long getting back up there that it floated to another boat and they tied a line to it and towed it in as fast as they could so they could keep it and the air bag lol.
