You have been the one thing saving me over the past year in exams. You are the reason I got 8s in my mocks and actually understand and enjoy the texts. I would be totally clueless without your amazing teaching style that genuinely sticks so well in my head. The internet is so so lucky to have you and I have no doubt you'll save me and so many others this month. Thank you so much :)
And good luck for Monday guys - You're gonna be great!

Hey MrEverythingEnglish, If u see this...here are the questions asked for R+J and DRJ&MRH...
How does Shakespeare present difficulties faced by Juliet in Romeo and Juliet?
How does Stevenson create an atmosphere of fear and danger in A Strange Case Of Dr Jekyll And Mr Hyde?

What would you do for a relationship question between like utterson and someone else?
A sinister block of bulding thrust forward its gable. best quote ever.
Setting:
Conotations of sinister (say what this effect does)
Plosives used 'D' (created harsh tone ect)
coupled with Sibilance creating omnious undertones ect
the violent verb thrust shows (explain what it shows)
Prepostion forward (showing how it affects people...)
Impact on reader ect
Link with context e.g the unknow, the goth ect. and the writers intention
(ofc there is some more things u can add but this overall is a VERY nice little answer!)

Sir, What if the question is about Utterson or Lanyon? But still, your video was really helpful. Thank you Sir.
they wont ask a question on just utterson or lanyon
@@andrew1525they could link lanyon to science
Generally asked with a theme but you can link characters to themes ( change the question for yourself . ) example : Stevenson uses Utterson to criticise the hypocrisy of morality Think of quotes : I let my brother go to hell on his own way , Says something in chapter 7 as we must save jekylls reputation, Gabriel ( biblical . Lanyon is jekylls foil doesn’t exceed science’s boundaries
@MrEverythingEnglish What about Utterson?

Assalamualaikum, how do link these to characters like utterson or lanyon?

Stevenson presents us with a range of puzzling examples of Hyde’s evil before revealing, in the final chapter, further mysteries about his nature. Taking the novel chronologically, we find out that Utterson suspects Hyde is blackmailing Jekyll for some “capers of his youth”.
His choice of the cheerful “capers” implies that among gentlemen sins are ignored. We imagine these must be sexual adventures.
The central mystery in the novel is what Hyde’s sins must be. We never find out.
Similarly, we never find out what Enfield was doing when he first encountered Hyde, having come back “from some place at the end of the world”. This is another euphemism for sin which is so unacceptable to society that it is only on the edge of civilisation.
This implies that Hyde’s brand of evil behaviour is the same as that of other men in civilised society.
A further clue that this is so is the setting. Hyde lives in Soho, which symbolises all kinds of sin. This is less than a five minute walk from the respectable Leicester Square where Jekyll lives.

Jazakallah bro man is a legend
What about Lanyon , Utterson , science you can’t use those quotes for them can you ?
Yeah true that would be hard to use those quotes wouldnt they
Yeah man if you did talk about the setting and Jekyll and Hyde it would have no correlation to the question if it is Utterson or lanyon so you may just lose marks
@MrEverythingEnglish what do we do if that happens
Stevenson presents us with a range of puzzling examples of Hyde’s evil before revealing, in the final chapter, further mysteries about his nature. Taking the novel chronologically, we find out that Utterson suspects Hyde is blackmailing Jekyll for some “capers of his youth”.
His choice of the cheerful “capers” implies that among gentlemen sins are ignored. We imagine these must be sexual adventures.

A further clue that this is so is the setting. Hyde lives in Soho, which symbolises all kinds of sin. This is less than a five minute walk from the respectable Leicester Square where Jekyll lives.
Therefore Stevenson implies Utterson , Enfield and Lanyon are on the same level of evil as Hyde.
Kanton is jekylls foil in this novella doesn’t exceed science’s boundaries
do i need a conclusion and introduction ( i am not aiming for grade 9)
You don’t need it it’s just recommended , some people got 9s without them said by Mr salles
A sinister block of bulding thrust forward its gable. best quote ever.

Conotations of sinister (say what this effect does)

now we need one for inspector calls, then were all going to be getting grade 9's
Coming very soon.
@@MrEverythingEnglish 👌🏾
@MrEverythingEnglish sir how's there no quotes about utterson or lanyon they haven't come up yet and none of these quotes links to them
pls do something for frankenstein theres honestly no resources
Beautiful 👌 1:58
😂
What if it asks "How is Dr Lanyon presented "in such way...etc"
they won't ask a question solely on Lanyon, if it was related it would be a science question
can you do this for An Inspector calls pls
How is "the animal within me..." Foreshadowing if it is in chapter 10
I, AALSo conused
The quote is in chapter 10 but Jekyll says this before Hyde kills Carew; Its a flashback and so is the whole chapter (almost). I am not sure if he said that before Carews Murder or After but:
Before Carew's Murder: Foreshadows the atrocities that Hyde is about to commit and the societal pain that he is about to inflict by killing the innocent Carew. Shows how just reminiscing over past evil memories can boil into further sinful actions.
After Carew's murder: Foreshadows the absolute dominion that Evil will have over good and so it foreshadows Jekyll's demise at the hands of his own creation as seen in Ch.9 where Hyde kills himself and Jekyll in the process. Can also say that Hyde's superiority over Jekyll / Evils superiority over Good is impending and inevitable if man is left to his own devices about choosing between good or evil, as Sir said.
Hope that helps bro.

trampled calmly isn't an oxymoron because it is possible to do that, it just means you're a psychopath or amoral in the case of Hyde
Naatil enthundu vishesham?
What if its an Utterson question?? Then were screwed and Utterson hasn't come up, so it probably will.
This will not work for everything - if a question about setting comes up you'd be screwed if you only learned this.

Thank you I was curious about what to do if it just asks 'how is utterson presented as a morally weak character' or smthn but im focusing now ty
@@fplhawk9224 That would actually be a really difficult question - For a question on Utterson, I would say instead that 1) Utterson is a symbol/example of a perfect respectable Victorian gentleman, 2) that Stevenson sets him up as trustworthy at the start of the book, and 3) that his character function is as the detective ("if he shall be Mr Hyde... I shall be Mr Seek")
I think the "utterson presented as a morally weak character" question is so specific it won't come up, but a question on Utterson generally might
