Join me for a few Peaceful Moments driving from Lincoln to Chard, Somerset in the United Kingdom
In the last video I was driving from York to Lincoln. Well, after a stop in Lincoln and a look-see at its very fine cathedral, it was time to hit the road onward. The maps says it is a shade over 4 hours and 225 miles but I'm pretty sure it took longer than 4 hours to do this drive. Leaving Lincoln in the early afternoon, I did not roll into Chard until early evening pretty exhausted after a long drive. It is so different to driving in western Canada where there is hardly any traffic - in the UK the roads are apparently always busy.
Last November I spent some time in the UK and took my rental car on a road trip. Starting out in Seaford, I drove first north to Liverpool, then east to Durham and Newcastle before turning south towards Whitby, York and Lincoln then to Somerset before driving back towards Seaford about a week later. All in I covered a little over 1,000 miles and had to pay a small overage when I returned the rental car.
