In this video, we’re going to talk about asthma and why certain people get asthma, and others don’t.
Asthma is a chronic lung inflammatory condition. It’s really a problem with your immune system. Symptoms of asthma include:
    ‱ Wheezing
    ‱ Coughing
    ‱ Chest tightness
    ‱ Shortness of breath
Symptoms tend to be worse at night, while exercising, or when exposed to air pollutants and allergens.
One of the best remedies for asthma is sunlight. This helps increase your levels of vitamin D.
397,000 people die a year from asthma symptoms. It often begins when you’re younger than 12 years old. Asthma comes from the Greek word “panting.”
Exposure to bacteria in early childhood helps prevent asthma. Conversely, living in a hyper-clean environment can increase the risk of developing asthma. Exposure to pathogens is what builds up the immune system. In fact, you have a lower risk of developing asthma if you live on a farm or have pets-likely due to more exposure to bacteria.
Being given antibiotics in early childhood increases your risk of asthma. Children delivered via C-section are more likely to develop asthma.
There’s an asthma remedy that involves Buteyko therapy. Buteyko therapy is a breathing exercise that may improve asthma symptoms. Breathing exercises activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which also reduces stress.

I cured astma naturally and this is how I did it. As a kid I got severe astma with lung whistle, heavy alergies, cough and severe rhinitis. This lasted until my late 20s until the moment I completely stopped eating dairy products and bread (pretty much I stopped eating all flour products). I didn't had any plans to cure astma I just stopped eating this in order to have shredded body. And as a result my astma was almost conpletely cured. (I might get some weak rhinitis in the spring and thats it. I haven't used any medications or remedies. Just quiting eating dairy products and flour products cured my astma symptoms 90%. I haven't changed my lifesyle or did anything else. It took maybe 1 month after quiting dairy and flour and all astma symptoms were gone. I would like to add that when I was a kid, my parrents spent a fortune at different doctors, medications, mountain and seaside travel and othet alternatives and nothing worked. My good parents spent so much time and money in vain, it just temporarely reliefed symptoms of astma. And finally cutting this dairy and flour based food completely cured it. I hope that my comment will help someone because I know how much I struggled with astma and how much it affected my life. God bless you Dr Berg.

For me, asthma kicked in at 40. I struggled with getting it under control until out of desperation I researched natural ways to reduce it, and discovered that taking quercetin daily makes a HUGE difference for me. That's the only thing I changed, so no doubt about it.

I have asthsma from mostly things in the environment like tree pollen or moulds. I was taught by a holistic doctor not to use citrus fruit that are sprayed with too much because they cause too many issues. Just by swapping from tropicana orange juice to fresh lemon water greatly improved my immune system. Some small changes really add up. Also, eating green apples supplies good levels of quercetin. If you believe in eating this before tablets, it might help. I hope this helps someone today.

Wow. I never thought of it before, but when Dr. Berg mentioned that many people who have asthma lived in an overly sanitized environment during their formative years, it made me recall all the people who I have known, growing up, who had asthma and they were all germaphobic and they all came from families who overly pampered them. Two of my coworkers, who both have asthma, also fit this pattern of being overly preoccupied with disinfecting everything, and they are pale as ghosts because they rarely get any sunlight.

    • @SnackyBear
      @SnackyBear Pƙed 4 lety +1

Why do some people turn into germaphobes? Mass media? If you have children, you'll notice that the first thing they'll do is stick their hands into their mouths. Why? To introduce germs into their mouths so that the body learns how to deal with them.

I have asthma since I was 45 days old, in Cuba they started this (breathing by the nose and exhaling by the mouth technique) when they runout of asthma medication, they said asthma was a “mental” disease, anyways, I tried this technique and I woke up 5 days later in the hospital!!! I breathe from my nose, and I still have asthma, I’m from Cuba and I used to be out in the sun every single day, no much pollution since there’s not even transportation besides bicycles, I think asthma is a complicated illness for sure!

I had asthma when I was ninteen years old, that was forty one years. I really believe my asthma was triggered by my chronic sinusitis, and post nasal drip back in the mid 1970's, four years later I was diagnosed with asthma. I've learned about the Buteyko method, back in 2008, by a doctor call Julian Whitaker in California. The problem with this breathing method you have to set a side three half hour sessions through out the day for about two months and can not eat at least two hours prior to the breathing excerises. Not too many people could set aside time for three half hour sessions through out the day.

Well, I also had something called 'Sun poisoning' another autoimmune problem that causes an itchy, LOOOOONG rash on your skin when you go in the sun. Ugh. Lasted 3 weeks. So you spend all your time totally covered up. Now, I only get autoimmune symptoms if I go off of Keto (like when we are on vacation and can't find healthy EVERYTHING). Keto is the best!

Numerous times I would have to go to the hospital because I couldn't get oxygen onto my lungs. I had inhalers but they didn't always work and I loved to workout so that sparked the attacks. Im 50 in Sept and I havent had any issues since the last time I had pneumonia in 2004. My mom feels bad about it. In the 70's there was smoking everywhere, too bad my parents were oblivious or maybe negligible. One of my questions would be, can you grow out of it and can your lungs heal??

I had no visible allergies to birds, mostly rabbits, dogs and cats. It is life changing when you can only live in environments with no carpets and have to watch out every environment you visit. I did get my athsma under control by the time I was 15 but I still wonder about environmental allergies and the genetic link.

My asthma surfaced under normal circumstances after I moved off island. I really only have mild issues when we are in the heat wave.

When I was a kid, the doctor told my mother that kids get asthma about five minutes after an adult explained it to them. It is extremely easy for a brat to fake the symptoms to get attention. The doctor told my mother, if the kid starts gasping, give him a light smack in the face, if he looks startled and then starts crying (breathing) he's fine. Otherwise bring him for a check up. I would believe with modern horrible inept child rearing practices, this would be a much greater problem. Yes. I grew up traveling the world and being exposed to every disease known (army brat) and then spent my teen years on a ranch, I had tough parents and great exposure and experience.

Then decades later around 2007... I had a severe case of bronchitis and while showering to have been coughing very hard including blood then to feel something back of my throat as I tried to grab it was very slick but manage to get a hold of it and pulled it out was a dark yellowish rubbery foreign object that had been in my right lung - I was able to breath much better after that but still have asthma... the foreign object that resembled like a noodle w/ bronchi branches... I made the mistake to flush it down the toilet when I should of placed in a container to have it analyzed that Kaiser would sent it to a lab to see what it is?

I am a big fan of Dr. Berg and appreciate good advice of course. But it is important to realize that there are different types of asthma, so much so that my long specialist once said he actually would like different names for them since they also need different treatments. I myself got asthma at 37 (I did have eczema as a kid) after a very stressful year. It is non-allergic asthma and has become more severe last few years (I am 49 now) I have to take medicine daily unfortunately. Allergic asthma is a much more common type, often starts young as a child and can sometimes improve a lot with certain diets or breathing techniques. Non-allergic asthma is more often something that develops later in life and is more complex and severe. The different remedies and advices seem to be focused mostly on people with allergic asthma so it does not really apply to the people with non-allergic or severe asthma, although I personally do get much better with lots of sun and also with (not to cold) clean sea air.
