I absolutely love how he understands that NOT EVERYONE HAS THE PROPER STUFF Because almost every single one of these vids I’ve watched have all these tools that I don’t have and I know a lot of other people don’t either so I love how he understands that and uses options most of us have. Thanks for the vid!
Been skating for 11 years and for sure knows how to do this but I love watching videos like this.
Wow, that's great news.
Today I tried to apply my own grip for the first time and made a sloppy mess of it. Now after watching this video I think I can do it much better.

I like seeing the way that others grip they're board, even though i know how to,and i always try the new methods, and maybe it'll be better than my method.
There's quite a few different ways to grip a board. I just try and pick out all the best tips and make my own method. I love YT and Tactics for their genuine help.
i’m just watching because it’s satisfying
the "take your ring off before" tip was excellent i never would have even thought of it thank you lol
I bought a clear mob griptape today from ur website I can’t wait till it comes 💯💯
When you're applying Clear Grip, use one of your wheels on your truck to roll out the bubbles while you're applying it and it will come out a lot better! - Tim
@Edwin me too. @Tactics Boardshop ok, so how is that different from the process you just showed on this video?
I used to do the slap method, but that was 17 years ago. Thanks for this vid, gripping a new deck and this was SUPER helpful!
About to try this for the first time on my birthday board. Wish me luck!
We didn't have a lot of money so I always used to grip my boards with scraps of grip tape. Then I let the shops grip my boards. Now, at age 50, I'm doing a full sheet of tape for the first time. Great vid, thanks!
Great video guys! It's been about 25 years since I last gripped my own board. I needed a refresher on this! Spent this afternoon refurbishing an old Element board and ordered some new tape. Also ordered additional tape for the THPS collector board coming in.
*me, gripping a skateboard for the first time, admiring my botched work*
excellent !
thanks for the vid my man
just gripped mine for for first time and its slightly botched but i love it, add character, i figured it would get scuffed anyways if i was skating like i should.
This couldn't be more perfect of an explanation, especially mentioning simple things we can use for simple tools.
I always look forward to gripping any new boards that I get, it's always so satisfying
Thank you so much for these helpful videos! I re-gripped my first deck today and I'm very happy with the result! 🥳 The tip about using a hairdryer to help remove the old griptape was a game-changer, would never have thought of that myself!
This and your video on removing old grip tape helped me regrip a board for the first time in my life! Thank you for these videos!
I gripped a board today and it was better than I thought it'd be. Thanks man
I love this, thought about letting it do in a skater shop, but now I am confident enough to do it myself, thank u so much
I haven't had to do this in like 30 years. I was looking for tips, I just literally did everything he did in the video and my new deck turned out awesome. No bubbles, no nothing. Some guys apply it from one end to the other (which is probably what I would've done), but this method here is solid.
I just want to say thank you for this...I know it seems easy, and it is, but I am a perfectionist
I use this video every single time I grip a new deck. Thank you!!!! (also, a few friends live near you and say you're an amazing shop 💜)
Just gripped my first skateboard and i think i did a fairly decent job for first time. Thank you very much ❤
Just gripped my first board thanks to you, kudos!

Thanks man! I’m very happy.
There are so many popular skate channels, but this is an under rated but awesome and informative channel
Much better than every other video I watched. Thanks.
Great video. Love the options for different tools. You have the tool - it just may not be a "tool". Like the wheels on the truck to flatten out the grip tape. Nice work here. Thank you for sharing. Made my project so much easier and turned out looking great.
im watching this like i havent gripped 7 boards in the past month XD. Its just so satisfying to cut grip.
I've been learning to skate on a gifted, used board, today a man drove down my road, he owns a skate shop, gave me a deck and a roll of grip tape, this'll be my first board to make my own, I've never been more excited
Thank you for this! Gripping my 1st board today!

I never grip a board before and it looks scary. This vid will help!

relaxating video :) it helps me find sleep
That is a great compliment.
Been skating for a year, already know this just wanted to watch
Getting new board today
tnx bro
It's been years since I've skated, just got an 80's cruiser deck to ride with my daughter. This definitely refreshed my memory, awesome vid much appreciated! 😎🔥🤙
put little break cuts near where the nose and tail go from straight to curving around, so that if you gotta do something quick you can just cut to the break cut and come back or just so you can get the easy parts done first, then the nose and tail, it could also be your starting area if you dont want to risk cutting your hand by poking it through the grip where you cant see it
thanks for the tutorial I was repurposing a skateboard that is about 40 years old and it's been 6 months since I've put grip tape on a skateboard
Thank you for telling me to take my ring off because I’d have been SO sad if it got scratched
watched this. gripped a board for the first time. bit rough but not too shabby for my first time
4+ years of skating and I still fuck up my board gripping
i put my griptape over the screws all of them but one on the backside. it has its ups and downs but it looks cool.
Let’s go!!!!!!
Super helpful vid! I have a nickel Leonard that came with a grip tape that I’m tired of the design.. so I’m gonna order a new one. The only different between it and the skateboard on this vid is that there’s a slight edge on the top that the grip doesn’t cover. How would you suggest I carve it down to keep the edge without the tape on there?
The truck and wheel hack. Bon appetite
Wow I had no idea you could do that. I didn't know you could assemble a skateboard. You haven't a video for that😮 this is brave times are living in.
tim from tactics board shop is gonna be the next aaron kyro
ik how to I just look at videos on how to grip cause it’s satisfying
I'm about to grip my first board
It’s cool
I'm using this for my motorcycle center stand. I hope it keeps me from slipping.
lmfaoo my first time gripping a board n all i had was an old box cutter it ain’t come out perfect but i’m still really happy
Watching this after messing up my grip tape 🫠
