I use a strong LED bulb on a lamp to charge my solar watches. Works great.
Never had any problem with my Casio watches.
Just keep them close and facing a window and it’s more than enough.
Dude! One of the best, most useful and informative G-Shock videos out here on CZcams that I have seen. Thank you for producing and sharing this vid!
Informative video Chavo. I appreciate you.
Subbed cause you have the sickest collection of G-Shocks I've ever seen as well as cause Bear Down.
1-7-2023 hello I recently got the GWM5610u and I was wondering are there different levels of low medium high in regards to power .meaning can you be in medium ,go out in the sun then be on high but if you stayed out in the sun you would get higher. Hope that makes sense.Wis-I like that!
As always nice and informative video. Question, are you going to make a Black Friday sale video?
Nice and informative video!
I have a pro trek that has developed some LCD bleed and the battery stays on medium charge now... I'm wondering if the solar cell is broken or the bleed is keeping light from getting to the cell... Kinda disappointed. I've only had it 2 years.
I would like to know if using a black light/uv light would work for charging
Are you gonna bring out any more for sale video
as per citizen advise i ussuallly leave my echo drive in direct sun near window with uv glass 6 hrs once 1 month. and i never worry about it being discharged.
Well done dude
Can I use a nail UV lamp to charge my gshock? Would it do damage?
It steps up in levels though.
In the manual.
So it may be say 5hrs from low to med. Then 10hrs from med to High.
So total is 15 eg
I put my watches that are in a glass covered case by the window each morning! 😎
How about led’s phone? Can is it used?
I have that Cool fire charger. It works great but I worry that it might be prematurely burning out the lume on my gwg 1000 mudmasters. When I take them off they are glowing super bright.
Is it possible that could damage the lume on the watches?
I'm not 100 percent sure, but it makes sense that it shortens its life
very cool video
Also you can use phone with the app to measure the Lux...
i left my gulfmaster under direct sun on a hot day for 20minutes and i still could not get from M to H charge level.
I use an Aperture AL-F7 video light and it is effective and runs cool. It will charge 3 watches at a time. Any LED video light would work.
I had a Coolfire but LEDs failed over time and it became ineffective. It also seemed cheaply made.
Bet it still would take you several days to charge the empty batteries to full charge again, tried myself different ways. To put and secure them just outside (balcony or outside! window sill) for a few days is still the best way in my experience
My watch went from 3 to 5 points in 3 days...i just kept it in my window(Not direct sunlight)
How long does a single charge last? And how often do you charge it?
😎Good question that I wonder as well. ✌️
Just put LED bulb with as high watts as tou can find in some lamp and put close to the watch box of let's say 3x2, because of the size of the lamp
A sun is the fastest way
Yes, however, sun exposure accelerates the breakdown of resin
Agreed maximum charging efficiency The only precautions don’t leave it on the dashboard of a hot car 30°C weather based on temperature
I set my watch out in the early summer Sun right after getting it. After 4 hours, the watch was too hot to touch, so I measured it with an IR temp gun, and it read 270 F. That’s the last time I did that.
@@Pics2FlicksDennis people go extreme these days. You could've just used it like that and it would still charge
@@falconhawkmangive over. Really? By how much?
NOT A CHANCE I will ever buy a solar watch again. This video is awesome; I learned a lot and followed either your recommended exposure time or Casio's. My solar-powered watch is staying dead anyway. Ordered a new battery CTL1616, waited an eternity for that to arrive, properly changed the battery and did a reset. Nothing. Maybe this "new" battery is ALSO no good...or maybe it's the watch. I just know both solar watches and solar batteries cost too much only to end up with something that doesn't work at all. I'm mad at my situation not the video. I'd favored this watch so much, a WS220C-7, so I'm giving the issue one more chance
i kept my casio in drawer for 8 years and battery got drained but after keeping in sunlight for 2 days watch got powered on and shows time and chg blinks. even my watch battery is ctl1616 and though shops have it here will replace only when the watch goes dead again
sun only, heck with messing around with lights
Now you need to do a video on how to tie shoe laces😂
I have 4 Solar+Atomic (Ramgeman, MGT 900, 5610U and gwb5600) and I try to wear em in rotation…. Key word is TRY 😅
✌🏼😎👍🏼
Is it normal for the modes and buttons etc to not work while charge is flashing?
Yes 👍🏻
How often do you need to charge the watch...and how long does the charge usually last? I am speaking Citizen Eco watches.
wont the battery power the watches especially the batteries on casio lasts 10 yrs
How come your watches discharge to zero in a brightly lit room? Artificial light should be enough to keep it on medium minimum.
I have a situation with my GST B200!!! No one can help me. Nothing on youtube. My digital time shows 21.00. Analogue time shows 23.00. Tried everything by synchronizing the time. Always these 2 hours difference. Maybe I need to open the face and do it manually??? Please help!!!

May solve your problem
Have you calibrated the hands using the app?
@@GiShockGo Of course I did((( same result every time. I found out why it happened. I was magnet fishing and the magnet in some ways moved the hands. So, I opened the watched and manually put the hands in place. Everything working good))) Thank you
So i didn't get it watching thru the first time.... How many watches do you have? 🤣
It's not good to let the batteries drain completely
Im noticing this gen doesnt kniw the differemce between 10s of thousands to 100s of thousands to millions. I seen aiden ross giveaway like 400k instead of 40k cos of his lack of knowledge with numbers. Its crazy
Outside for 8 hours will take from med to high and it will never go back to med
Yes but what if you have too many watches? Would you take them all out?
Only need one.
@@KingdomFTXSaid no one ever!
I literally don’t see the issue, leave the watch on the side in a room with the curtains open and it’s fine.
Mine get worn in rotation and rarely go below high.
Unless you live in a cave or keep your watches in the dark, this is a non issue.
Don't buy watches. One is too many and a thousand is never enough. You're lucky Gshocks don't count, you actually have a very small collection, so it's better this way.
i leave mine everyday on a window sill that faces away from the sun
Is that in addition to you wearing it?
@@GiShockGo I don't have as many as you I have 11 solar gshocks I only regularly where a couple so the others stay topped up
Thank you for the effort this took
I regret getting a solar power zi rather deal with changing batteries. This solar is if you live in a sunny warm State, well that’s not NY I am with a jacket it’s very hard to keep the watch out to charge. It’s not worth it but again that’s just my experience with it. Not getting any. I have one and I can NEVER use it because of this stupidity solar charging. Not my type of watch. Unless I live in Florida or California. Warm beautiful. Not Ny. this is a place to come work put some cash away and moving the hell out as quick as you can. It’s a very dirty place. More so than a third world Country. But because is NY people overlook the garbage, rats and Al the rude people.
How pointless is that? I'm buying his solar watch so I can charge it with electricity, especially with this kind of electronic junk. Are you still OK?
I hope one day I can have a gshock collection like you🔥🫡
