    Great topic Chavo...Most of my G-Shocks are solar, one subtle thing to note if charging watches in a watch box like you did is to make sure the case lid is open to avoid excessive heat from generating in the case which can actually lead to battery cell damage, any passing breeze/air current help regulate the watch's temperature. Found this to be relevant regardless of the watch colour or material.

      Never thought about that... great point. Thanks for sharing. Would hate if viewers watches overheated. The manual definitely warns people about over exposure to the sun.

    On the 40°C day it could fry the Circuit board because of the extreme heat but on a 20°C day go for it as long as you want that’s my personal advice to you original outdoor sunlight exposure without being filtered by a window frame is recommended after all I know thank you for telling me that this year and beyond

    You can put your watch in a glass of water, for cooling, and place it in the sunlight outside the whole day. The more natural thing would be to just wear it while bicycling or hiking.

    I have panda one which was just sitting in my drawer and been dead for 2+ years. I took it outside and was instantly alive after 40 seconds (i did count lol). However, while the screen is now on, i am unable to do anything like set the time, the light doesn’t even work while the CHG is blinking. Does that mean it needs more charge?

    I got hands on my brand New G shock Mudmaster GSG- 100 last week...
    I keep it in solar charge untill it gets HIGH and then keep it in my room where some amount of light enters the room from outside...
    But I see it gets to Medium by evening without any use...
    Is this normal?

    • @jasonemanuel9070

      No

    • @BroAriq
      @BroAriq Před 2 lety +2

      That is normal, when indicator just turn into high, it doesn't mean it is fully charge, depending on your module. Check your manual book for example, my GX-56BB needs to charge 90 hours when expose to direct sunlight to reach high and may need additional 2 days to fully charge

  • @Huzaku

    So I have a pulsar 4000 diver watch from like 11 years ago. It was my dads watch, and I've tried to charge it the last few days but it doesn't seem to hold charge at all. I've found that I needed to have the crown in the second position so it doesn't tick while charging, and I also have been doing it through a window. But even still its summer solstice and it shoukd have gotten at least some charge. It will tick until I go inside, as soon as I leave the sun it stops like it can't hold any charge at all. I'm not sure if I just need to keep it off and try again in direct sunlight? Or go to a jeweler and have them replace the battery. This watch is kind of important to me so any help or advice would be appreciated.

    I just bought the GA B2100, it’s showing on M and if i connect to the phone it shows 2 bars.
    I tried to put the watch under my bedside table lamp overnight, nothing change both in the watch and on the phone.
    Then i tried to put it just beside the window, so it can absorb the light from the sun. After half a day it’s still showing M and 2 bars (out of 5)
    So is that something wrong with my watch? Or is there any step to put it in charging mode? How long is it supposed to charged?

      Artificial light from a bedside lamp is not very bright. You must expose it to full sunlight. Solar modules only generate decent voltage in real sunlight.

    • @KevAlberta
      @KevAlberta Před 2 lety +1

      From a full charge, the cell will last roughly 9 months, without any sun exposure, while using the backlight and alarm once per day. With normal sun exposure, the watch will pretty much never die. Who spends 9 months in complete darkness? If you store it for over nine months, just put it in the sun for 35 minutes before using it and it will be alive.

    bad idea putting them directly in sunlight for a long time, this could fry the internals due to heat. The best way is to use a cool light white LED light and charge them in door.

      @wyndhamyip1629 Před rokem

      In a dashboard of a hot car bad idea actually if it’s directly outside in direct airflow it will cool down it’s a intensity of outdoor natural lighting and efficiency actually full blast direct sunlight maximum efficiency of the charge that you receive from outdoor natural lighting via solar panel conversion outdoor sunlight full blast unfiltered by windows 50,000 lux but you’re right about the precautions not in the desert but non-desert environments like the Caribbean so it’s fine go for it

    • @wyndhamyip1629
      @wyndhamyip1629 Před rokem

      Tough solar panel is designed for full sunlight blast overall but not the interior workings that can get damaged but not the solar panel it depends how hot it is outside for example 35°C or hotter The hotter the temperature the more risk of damaging it

    • @randomescu
      @randomescu Před rokem +1

      Yes. At least my full metal gmw5000. But if you use a thrower flashlight it will charge much faster then from the Sun or a lightbulb. Use common sense, not to get the watch or the flashlight warm. I used 2 flashlights on medium, at 10-15 cm.

    • @amirulnafis703

      It's depend on how you treat your own Tough Solar G- Shock. Mostly the Tough Solar type G Shock can survive for about 10 years with proper care and daily use with much exposure to the natural sunlight or any light source.
