I love how part of Anakins problem is that he hates himself more than anyone else. The vision shows how Kanobi would forgive him but even if that's true Vader can't believe that. In his own words it's to late. He can't accept even the notion of forgiveness because he can't forgive himself. And so Palpatine continues to torment and play with him.
Bleeding isn’t “cracking” a Kyber crystal, it’s literally making it feel all of your negative emotions and pain, essentially turning the crystal itself to the dark side.
The confusion comes from Kylo Ren who cracked his kyber crystal when bleeding it, which is why his saber has that effect. Darth Vader didn't crack his crystal because he had more control over the darkside than Kylo.

The Rule of Two after Bane just kinda sucked, Palpy and Vader are nothing compared to the Ancient Sith of the Sith Empire, which most high ranking Sith had acquired their sabers from previous powerful lords whos power would remain within the saber and be transferred to the new wielder of the saber, some of these sabers had been passed down all the way from Freedon Nad, Tulak Hord, and various other Legendary Sith, if i remember correctly, Darth Nox, a Dark Council member, wields the blade of Darth Tenebraes, the most powerful Sith to ever live in the SW Universe as he took control of other's bodies to achieve immortality for thousands of years, taking on the aliases of Emperor Viciate and Emperor Valkorian, able to destroy planets in a similar way to Darth Nihilus but way more efficiently and leaves a larger dark side presence where the planet once was
well technically if vader did not get blinded by his rage and arrogance and the dark side and just jump few meters to the side of obi wan on Mustafar vader would be unstoppable force of nurture a god of the force itself
You have to remember that the rule of two exists because the amount of backstabbing in the sith always causes them to collapse, it also placed them under the radar to make plans and let the Jedi fall into disrepair along with the republic, while with the sith the republic and Jedi were always on their toes and won
Personally, I think this is a major improvement over Legends. The Sith are evil. It is literally called the Dark Side. The attempts to make them morally equivalent to the Jedi only makes them less appealing. And this really cements that each Sith is fundamentally a corruption of the Jedi, and that the Dark Side is an unnatural perversion of the Force.

Because I'm willing to bet the first time you heard it was from a Star Wars youtuber who spent most of the video whining about "wahhhh it's different now I liked it better before" while Dan is talking about it as its own concept
Slight correction you're not cracking the crystal the crystal is basically a living because it's basically the force what your basically doing is corrupting it you're making it good nature turn bad. That's why oftentimes in media when a person finds the crystal you can hear this soothing sound play in the background. The books often refer to it as the kyber crystals sings and the reason why a red lightsaber sounds different and so visceral is because it's screaming instead of singing because the user's pain is now forced upon it the louder the scream of the lightsaber is a reflection of the Darksiders Darkness or pain that they have inside. Because I believe in son books they even talk about how there are some Darksiders with somewhat ones but that's more of a undertone thing that they purposely make a point not like you can't make it completely quiet you can never do that it's just not so loud
i still hate the corrupting crystal lore they added, which makes the sith more emo than they already were and makes them too jedi centric defines them too much by their feud with the jedi the sith are evil and proud and egotistic. Do they hate the jedi? Yes, but at the end of the day, they just do it all for self-interest they were are independent and they existed for centuries during the rule of too so its not like they broke there cover to kill a jedi every time a new sith apprentice was recruited plus i like the prsgmstic and tech side of the old lore the sith found out how to make red cyber chrysals artificially and they were allegedly more powerful as the natural ones though it could just be because the jedi had control of all the kyber caves
I also dislike this because it makes Luke's ability to get through to his father even more deus ex machina like. It only makes it slightly more sense that his son would be able to do it than this powerful force crystal. Honestly, the reason the crystal didn't succeed here was because it tried to use Obi-Wan. Had it used Ashoka, it probably would have worked.
Um no no it is not. Vader was being punished for losing his light saber. A jedi and his crystal are intertwined which is why you are supposed to bleed your own weapon. It helps prevent you from turning back from the dark.
I've loved starwars for as long as I've been alive Only in recent months I've started reading comics invincible spawn Batman etc But I've never read Star wars comics where is a good place to start
Its funny he didn't need to, a synthetic crystal is a common practice if i remember from legends just a Darth maul has done. It makes for a more engrossing experience
No, the real reason he didn't crack his crystal is because he didn't "bleed" it, it's simply synthetic. Bleeding has been a stupid idea since it began. Sith don't even like using lightsabers, as they feel the dark side is more than enough, so they'd use fake crystals simply to offend the Jedi. World be a better place if you stop listening to Disney's horrible non-fan fiction they call canon
