    I used to believe there could be more than one way to interpret the Scriptures but now I realize that is nonsense mainly because God wouldn't do that to us. The stakes are too high and He isn't sneaky. By the way, I love the screeching brakes sound.😄

    ALL truth is available in the Bible. All you need do is read.
    "He who believes and is baptized shall be saved," Mark 16:16. Very simple.

    He forgot one IMPORTANT verse about Truth.
    1 Timothy 3:15.
    Jesus started a Church, that Church has the Authority to interpret Scripture with its he protection of the Holy Spirit. All of which is in the Scripture.
    It is the CHURCH which is divinely instituted which is the pillar and foundation of Truth.
    This is my 2nd video to watch on this channel and it is becoming my new favorite Catholic channel. Finally Protestants who read all of the Scripture for a doctrine instead of plucking one out of context.

    Romans 15:6
    That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
    2 Corinthians 13:11
    Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.
    Philippians 1:27
    Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;
    Philippians 2:2
    Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

    I struggle to understand the Bible . I can read a book from it then re-read it but I still struggle to figure out exactly what it is trying to say . Some of it jumps around from different time periods too so I struggle to know if they are talking about then or later on In the Bible.

    Yes I believe it is technically possible to all believe the same way and are commanded to do so. But I would have to agree of how our own presuppositions make how we interpret things differently. I would go as far to say that while we can communicate to each other through instructions and youtube, with that example I'm sure I'm not the only one that has looked at the instructions given and been puzzled by what they are trying to communicate while others may have no issue. My wife and I have this same thing with even Legos (made so a child can understand)takes 2 pairs of eyes to get it right. I do agree that no matter the situation when 2 disagree that one or more of the parties has it wrong, and don't believe in a universalist biblical theology. But on the flip side it doesn't give us the right to condemn the other as that is God's job. We have to strengthen our relationship with God and let the spirit lead us, which also requires death to self. And who can 100% say that they have fully died to christ? If they are truely honest nobody, while that is commanded of us as well. Not saying we don't have to try, but ever since time began the Satan has used tribalism to fog our minds let our presuppositions lead our hearts and minds and its no different in the church. It's not a problem with God's message or delivery, it's a problem with our fallen hearts and minds. It's a narrow path that few find, so empty ourselves and let us die so the spirit can use our bodies as a vessel and teach and proclaim in how the spirit convicts you. Root out false teachers and use the word to expose their doctrine, but also be humble enough to understand that they are doing the same thing to you. I dream about a unified church and know that it can technically be possible. But just how some people can hear the word and reject it, I feel like because of our fallen nature we won't see that on this side of heaven. But we need to be able to work with our brothers and sisters across the scope of the church regardless of denomination or lack there of, to fulfill the great commission preaching our convictions that we best understand with thorough thought and wrestling with the scripture. Then at the end of the race present ourselves before God with fear and trembling and let him decide where our heart stood. On him or self.

    We will be judged based on what we can know...not all is given to us to know and there will be opinions, questions, and at times a true answer may not be reveled to us. The Lord isn't going to judge us according to the words of Christ (this includes inspired writings) and then we not be able to know the truth of the words of Christ. I tend to believe that it's not a matter of not being able to know...but an lack of will to apply, submit, conform, to what is known or to change to what can be known. Changing is hard.

    The Bible is very easy to understand because God is brilliant. Most of the time if you take what the Bible says literally, and seriously, then you are reading it correctly. When people start trying to obfuscate it via "historical" and linguistic claims error or outright heresy is typically right around the corner. In our times many Christians read the bible through the lens of a human philosophy that taints their ability to read and understand what was written. Examples of human philosophy might be Feminism, Calvinism (reformed theology), and Liberation Theology.

      I agree the Bible is very easy to understand. I read this verse and it's clear as a bell. Jhn 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. If theCoC would just put away their 3-5 verses that they twist to say what they want it to say. You know like you contact Christ's blood in the water of baptism.

      All we have to do to become unified and undivided is to not read the Bible for ourselves (like Catholics in the old days) and believe what the CoC cult members tell us it says.

    Obviously, we can understand the Bible sufficiently to be saved. But we won’t because of many things. For example, the Jews of the Old Testament rejected and persecuted the prophets when they proclaimed a message of doom, destruction, deportation, etc. They rejected it because they wanted to worship the gods around them; and that goes for many in the church of Christ today as well. However, any of us can be blinded by the god of this world.

    Not rightly dividing is the problem (II Timothy 2:15). The reason there are so many denominations is because they don't rightly divide. All scripture is written for our learning, but not every scripture is written to us today. Peter tells the Jews in Acts 2 to repent and be baptized for the remission of their sins, but Paul's doctrine says we are saved by grace through faith, and it's not from anything we do. Those are different. Understanding divisions in scripture helps resolve things like this.

    • @mrwhitelight92
      @mrwhitelight92 Před 4 měsíci

      I am not sure where you stand. Are you saying that the apostles were at odds with each others teaching? Or that denominations get this confused?

    • @bobconolty2692
      @bobconolty2692 Před 4 měsíci +1

      @mrwhitelight92 I'm still working through a lot of this as change from years of indoctrination is very difficult, but there are different dispensations. These are not taught in the Church of Christ as it would change their long-held doctrine.
      Acts 15 shows some of the contention between Peter and Paul, but it was resolved when Peter comes to the conclusion that the Jews can be saved by faith just like the Gentiles are (vs 7-11).
      We also know that Paul was given a mystery that was kept secret since the world began (Rom 16:25). It was a gospel that he did not receive from man but by a revelation of Jesus (Gal 1:11-12). We are going to be judged by his gospel (Rom 2:16).
      Here's Paul's gospel which saves:
      1 Corinthians 15:
      1 - Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
      2 - By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
      3 - For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
      4 - And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
      God bless your studies!

    To think that if everyone studies the Bible they will all agree with me is arrogant

    • @jeffoaks5878
      @jeffoaks5878 Před 4 měsíci +5

      Sir, with all respect, it does not matter if you, me or anyone else for that matter agree on what the Bible states. What matters is that the Bible contains the very words of God, the very truth of God, the onus is on US to dilligently seek and therfore find that truth. God and God alone is the final authority in the matter. If you, me or for that matter no one else agrees or disagrees with the words of God is irelevant. His truth is clearly stated within His word, unless one is willing to conceed that God cannot or did not plainly state the truth in His word (in which case one must admit that God is not a perfect, almighty God). Jesus prayed for unity amoung His followers many times during His ministry, If said unity was not possible, why did He pray for it? Since God's word is perfect and absolutely true, the issue is with man, not God. God could not be a loving, true, holy God if He did not or could not furnish His perfect will for the benefit of mankind. How could God hold all accountable to His will if His Word could be interpreted one, ten thousand, or 10 million ways? How could this ever produce the unity He desires for all? So you see it is not a matter of arrongancy, but a matter of accuracy. Praying that all will read and study to find the truth that God's word, the Bible contains.
