I make potato soup almost exactly like that. I add bacon bits, some ranch seasoning, chicken bouillon, onion and garlic powder, and dried parsley in the beginning as well. It's so good 😊 and we're actually having tater tot casserole for dinner tonight. Just the regular original recipe. Tfs
I make that soup and I add a little more broth and instant potatoes at the end. You can pick a flavor and it is amazing. I have started making my own potatoes and cream of chicken soup so I can have it whenever we want. Yum.

I always take the time to put them all lined up. I have a son who has OCD really bad!! If I didn't arrange them just so he wouldn't eat. Now it's just a habit even though he's grown. I swear they wouldn’t let us in the door if we didn’t make them!! LOL. Also Jen, here’s a little tip for your croutons. When I was growing up, whenever my mom was serving croutons with anything, she always sautéed them in a little bacon grease. Oh my they made everything taste so good. I have a question, I can’t have anything with tomato, so what would you suggest for a substitution in the potato casserole? It looks absolutely delicious, all of your recipes do! Thanks

I wonder if the loaded tater bites, you put some alfredo sauce on top of it. Piece of spinach.That would be interesting. Or flip it with picante sauce & add either sausage or hamburger. Even pizza sauce with a mini pepperoni. Instead of bread the potato is the crust. This is gonna be fun!
My son does not like tater tots, but I am wondering if you smear mashed potatoes on top if this could be like a taco shepherd's pie. Also on the tater tot potato bites and wondering if you can put some egg on top of that before you bake it and then it become like a breakfast dish
I've bn making my "tater tot/brockli/cheese casserole" since the early 90s got my recipe from my bestie. 😍😍 I jus made mine 2wks ago bt I made it alot wen my kids were growing up it was both my boys fav. 💘 Answer ur question: as for me I always jus throw my tater tots on top long as their spread out. FYI, I used the general idea of the potato soup as inspiration and used frozen mashed potato in soup Thai soup. I probably should have put in more liquid, and used a bigger pot, but maybe when I pull out the leftovers I'll add more when I reheat, but still, thank-you for the inspiration.

I have always lined my tater tots up... next time I will try your method. I think it's like checking egg cartons. I check every time and have only found one broken egg in my entire life. It is a waste of time. 😄😜
One thing I have taken from of the recipes they are processed, high in salt and not good for our hearts, etc. So everyone needs to check out what you are truly eating.

I use cream of celery soup instead of cream of chicken. You have to try it…so good. I top with cheese, bacon and green onions.

Crush the corn flakes and stir the melted butter into them . Then top your casserole!!!! They brown nicely and get really crunchy !!!!!
