Hey friends! I hope everyone is having a great week so far! 🌸🌸🌸
It's been a week. I'm suffering from a severe sinus infection and wisdom tooth trying to pop through.
Doing good, but already looking forward to summer lol. How about you??
These church cookbooks really have some excellent recipes. I agree with you on the Ritz crackers, I'm spoiled that way. I'm so glad that I found your videos, you and Darin are so sweet, and you always have such GREAT recipes ❤️😋😋👍👍
I had some kind of sneezing disease at the beginning of the week too. Hope you feel better!
Same!!
I saw your comments asking for viewers to share their Broccoli Rice Casserole recipes made with Cheez Whiz. Here's our favorite (super easy) version which we've made since the 1960's! 🙂
Separately cook 1 pkg frozen chopped broccoli and 1 cup white rice. Mix these in a large bowl with a can of cream of mushroom soup, 1/2 cup chopped onion, and a small jar of Cheez Whiz. Pour the mixture into a baking dish and bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
I'm so happy that you are bringing back the church cookbook recipes.
Me too!! 💜
@CookCleanAndRepeat you and Mandy need to collaborate with them. She just shared some church cookbook recipes this week.
@@MrsAlmaTrumble I thought I recognized your name from a different channel, from Mandy in the making?
@@nanaof6babies yes, I watch Mandy and others.
I have always put cheese whiz in my brocolli casserole. It is sn okd recipe. Also use condensed milk. It is alwsys a hit.
I have to try this!
Broccoli casserole with cheese whiz is DELICIOUS!
Hello Jen you are always a pleasure to watch sweet friend. 🌹🌹🌹
Awesome video thanks
Thanks for stopping by!
It was meant to be….i bought three large bags of stuffing mix for my Christmas meal and changed my mind and made my traditional cornbread dressing. So now I have these stuffing mixes and need to use them. This sounds like the perfect opportunity. Thank you for sharing this recipe. I love squash and all the ingredients used here. I have never even tasted a bag stuffing so I hope I like it.
These recipes really take me back...I'm 77...what happened? We decided to get healthy, and there went these recipes, off the menus. However, they still pop up on occasion at pot lucks, thankfully!
Yep! I know it seems like we eat this stuff all the time, but in reality.. it’s a treat for us too!
My mamma always melted cheese whis, with a bit of horse radish and served over the broccoli….. so so good!
The broccoli cheese casserole I make with cubed ham or shredded chicken.
A complete meal!
Ooh, GREAT IDEA, and I have ham in the frig already! Thank u for the idea! ❤
I always use herb dressing in my squash casserole. But I mix it in with the squash. Stir it altogether.
That sounds good too!
I had an auntie that made green bean casserole with cheese wiz when i was a kid, i loved it. I make my famous green bean casserole with jar Alfredo sauce instead and fresh mushrooms, onions, bacon bits, and smoked gouda cheese. It's super yummy
Alfredo in green bean casserole sounds delish!
I have made the broccoli, rice, cheese casserole with Cheez Wiz. I prefer Aldi's "Velveeta". I learned how to cook my version of this casserole from my Daughter's Southern uncle.
That’s so cool! I love some Aldi too!
@@CookCleanAndRepeat Aldi ROCKS!
These casseroles all look so good!!! Church casseroles are the best
Nothing better than some good home cooking from home cooks 🥰
Right?! It’s just the BEST!
I’m going to try this
💜💜💜
Yes make a church cook book there always good
Have definitely made broccoli casserole with Cheez Whiz and it is so good!! It’s an old recipe from probably the 70’s or 80’s maybe…. I’m 65 and it’s been around a long time. 😉
I’m excited to try these. All looks so good. 🌷
Let us know how you like them!
Those look so good! Going to try the grits this weekend!
Enjoy! And have a great weekend!
I make my squash casserole the same way, if I want it to be a complete meal instead of a side dish I’ll add 2 cups cooked chicken. My family loves it!
This is a go to receipt at Thanksgiving time. We add shredded carrot to it and mix the stuffin in the squash mixture. YUM YUM
My go-to broccoli and rice recipe is made with Cheez-Whiz. I have used it for about 50 years. Can't wait to compare the two. Love your channel and your accent.
Thank you!! Do you mind sharing your recipe?
The broccoli casserole with cheese whiz is sooo delicious!!
Really??? Do you have a favorite recipe? I need to try this!
Great video as always. Recipes look awesome!🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷
Thanks so much! 😊
Yummy 😋 the grits look delicious. I love grits. 🌹
Cheez whiz is pretty salty and strong . It is creamy when it melts . So if you use it careful with salt . God bless !
Ohhh..I did the yellow squash one already like 3 months ago, and I ate it all week..(cos it's just me alone?) Delicious!!👌😋😋😋
Oh, the stuffing mix would be a great addition..
That would very easy to do! So good!
Love church cookbooks…made a favorite corn and green bean casserole from one I have that was published in the late 60s or early 70s.
The recipes on church cookbooks are the BEST. Usually family recipes that keep getting requested tried and true❤❤
Exactly!! They’re the best!
My broccoli casserole has rice, broccoli, cheese and sliced water chestnuts in it. Adds a nice crunch. 💕🙏🙏
I’ve noticed a lot of these recipes also include water chestnuts!
@@CookCleanAndRepeatyou’re too young but way back in the day..the 70s water chestnuts was new and I think people tried to put them in everything!! I love them wrapped in bacon marinated in soy sauce and brown sugar and baked for about 15 minutes until the bacon is crispy!!
@@meloneycrewsOh my word, I almost forgot that appetizer - please send it in, bc everyone will love it!
I add chicken and Ranch seasoning to my squash casserole. Total meal!
Hey, love your photo in the front of your cookbook - you in your play kitchen. So cute!
I look forward to your next cookbook, or holiday decorating book.
Hahaha aww thank you so so much! ❤️❤️😂
I love church cookbook recipes!!! 🌷🌸🪻
I love this church recipe series ❤
Yay! I am so so glad!
Love the churchbook recipes.
I have made broccoli and squash casseroles but not like this. Looking forward to giving them a try. I have never made a casserole with grits, but it sure looks good. We will be trying that too. Hope you’re having a great week so far! 🥦 🧀 🥚 🥓 🍚
Same to you, friend!! Hope you enjoy them!
Thanks for using recipes that call for less salt. I'm on a very low sodium diet due to high blood pressure.
I am trying to do better myself!
I have to agree! More Mrs Dash recipes, Jen!
Speaking of church cookbooks: we eat at our church every Sunday and I’m always looking for something different to make and take for the potluck, I will definitely be trying this one.❤
I used to make it all the time with Cwhiz but the last time I did it I just used cheese to avoid the preservatives! I just did 1c milk and 2c cooked chicken!! loved it! ❤❤
I love church or PTA cookbooks!! I always look for them in the Goodwill or thrift shops!!
Jen these look awesome!! Can’t wait to try the squash casserole done like this one!
Thanks so much!! I do the same thing!
Back in the day while visiting an Aunt in Florida, she made a multi-veggie dish that had CheeseWiz in it and I have to say it was delish!! 😊. My favorite flower of Springtime is the Daffodil!! 🌼 🌼
Cheez wiz was popular!!
I love Daffodils too & just saw that Cornwall England plants thousands bc they love the ocean air, and the Brits love that flower. They just look like happy little girls to me, with bonnets on their little heads, and yes, I put my daughter in bonnets when she was a baby & toddler.
@@sandybowman7140 It would be so beautiful to see that….daffodils make me so happy!!
💐 I'm looking forward to spring, just not the pollen or tornadoes. 💐
You and me both friend!! No tornados for us please! 🙌
@@CookCleanAndRepeat I'm praying for no tornadoes. We had one hit 50 yards from our home last year.
That is absolutely terrifying!
Hi Jenn! Church cookbooks are my favorites. I first had the stuffing/squash casserole at my bosses house many years ago, and loved it. I’ve never made broccoli/rice/ cheese casserole WITHOUT Cheez Whiz! It’s so awesome. That grits casserole looks divine! It sounds good to me as a side for ham, too, with the bacon added as written. You really put some wonderful recipes up today and I’m so appreciative! Thanks again!
I’ve seen that Dan-O’s seasoning at Costco and wondered about it! Thanks for the information on the flavors. I love your church cookbook recipes.🌷
Thank you so so much! I had seen it for a while too and I was pleasantly surprised when we tried it! It’s delicious!
I've been using the Dan O's chipotle chili seasoning for my chili for a few months and it's really good 😊 I haven't tried the original yet cuz they're always sold out at Walmart so I'll definitely look at Costco, thanks for the heads up on that!
I like how you have a hidden camera in your Oven..heeheehee!
😉😉😉
Hi Jen, these all look so good, love church cookbook recipes!
I have made that squash casserole for years. It has a wonderful flavor.
I just love church cookbook recipes 🌼
Squash casserole looks delicious,I bet you could add can chicken and make it a meal.❤
That is such a good idea!
Oh that's an awesome idea! I always have cooked Chicken in the freezer! Thanks!
I add chicken and mushrooms to my broccoli, cheese and rice casserole
For the squash Casserole think I would add some cooked sausage to the stuffing like you were making sausage stuffing.
Hi Jen, they all looked delightful. Think I will give them all a try. They are right up my street..
I love church cookbooks too 😁❤️🙌🙏
Love you Jen! And the church cookbook videos are some of my favorites 💜🌈🌺🪺
I’m so glad it’s almost time for outdoor gatherings again! My favorite part of Church Cookbooks are the little stories or tales of the history of the particular recipe- when all went well and not so well! When you mentioned Cheeze Whiz it brought me back to my childhood- my Dad traveled a lot for work and my sister and I would get so excited when Mom told us we were having Mac and Cheese! Two ingredient Mac and Cheese which consisted of boiled elbow macaroni and an entire bottle of Cheeze Whiz! Baked in the oven until bubbly and a little brown and stiff around the edges! I still make it sometimes but I think they changed the Cheeze Whiz formula because it’s just not the same! 😂 Thanks so much for sharing these!
The grit casserole😍🌷🌿❤️
I will have to make the squash casserole! It looked so yummy. The others did as well but squash is a favorite and I think the stuff base is brilliant. Can't wait! 💐💐💐🌻🌻🌻
Loved them all incl. the grits..I'm a Southern girl living on the Westcoast? (I still make my little pkts of instant grits with my breakfast!) 👌🩷🩷🩷
That’s so funny! I use those a lot too!
The Grits Casserole brought back memories from 65 yrs ago. Growing up I had my grits topped w scrambled eggs, bacon & chipped up toast. I called it the bird nest.
Church cookbooks are the very best-simple ingredients usually on hand. I did a clean out but kept all my church cookbooks.
Our local Electric Co issues cookbooks w recipes from local folks. Also good eating. Makes good wedding gifts.
Yes I have made broccoli, cheese, & rice casserole with chez whiz for years! I have to make it every Thanksgiving or some of my family would not forgive me! 😂 It was my mother-in-laws recipe and it’s delicious. Love your videos! ❤🌸
My mom always made her broccoli and rice casserole with cheese. It was always so good and creamy. Love your recipes and so happy for the church cookbook recipes. 😊
Oh my...everything looks great🌷
Jen, those recipes look SO GOOD! I think that Broccoli & Rice one is maybe similar to the Spinach & Rice Casserole my Mom made. The only thing I might want to add instead of cheese on top (cheese folded into the mixture) is Slivered Almonds on top. I just can't wait to do the Squash & Stuffing Casserole - it's the method that sounds so delish! Thanks so much, this one's a keeper for sure! 🙋♀️🌻🌻🦋🏠🍽🥰❤️❤️
I love the church cookbook series!
I have tried the cheese whiz but prefer to use Velveeta instead for broccoli, rice, & cheese casserole. I also add onion to mine.
I will definitely try this squash casserole. It looks so good! Thank you!
That sounds really good as well!
I luv, luv cheese🧀. Making the Grits Casserole recipe this weekend. Keep the delicious recipes coming. Thanks, Jen!🦋💕
Awesome!! I hope you enjoy it! Thanks for matching!
The best squash casserole is a family favorite of mine. It’s such a treasured recipe that it is only used at Thanksgiving! We’ve also used butternut squash sometimes. But instead of pre-cooking and preparing the ingredients, we just add all the ingredients into a bowl raw, and mix with just half of the stuffing. Then we put the rest of the stuffing on the top and bake it for an hour. And we have never added the cheese. So I want to try your version!
I have a great collection of church cookbooks, they hold some of my favorite recipes I'm going to try the grits casserole. My husband won't eat squash or broccoli so I probably won't try them until I have company, lol. I love both but there's not much I don't love, lol. Thanks for sharing! ❤
Squash casserole is delicious I make mine almost that way. Squash is full of water , I cut up slices the salt in a colander with a plate on top for 10 minutes. Then wash off salt and pat dry. Just like you would do if cooking Eggplants. This will reduce the extra water and keep the squash sturdy. 😋
I make the squash casserole then top with a mixture of 2 cups Pep Farm stuffing, melted 1 stick of salted butter, and 1/2 cup shredded parm and spread on top. Bake 30 min. Probably the same taste over all and its always a hit!!
That does sound good!
I've made a similar Broccoli casserole with Salsa Con Queso Cheese Dip.
We cook squash casserole similar to that but mix stuffing in squash mixture and we add cheese in the mixture and try it with cream of celery with the cream of chicken, yes we have to make a huge dish of it and then we put ritz mixed with butter on top.
Make my broccoli rice and cheese casserole with cheese whiz add roasted garlic mushroom soup! Try I promise you'll love it🥥
Make my Broccoli and rice casserole with Cheeze Whiz all the time
I don’t know if you were referring to canned biscuits…but after dipping in melted butter, dip, coat all over with cinnamon sugar. Simple but yum with breakfast. I think way back when had broccoli casserole with cheez whiz, it was good. Been a long time tho.😊
Love church recipes. Yes, I have used Cheese Whiz back in the day. Love your sweet personality. 🌻🌻🕸
You’re sweet. Thank you! I’ve gotta get around to trying it!
Everything looked delicious.
Thank you 😋
Thanks Jennifer for sharing these recipes with us ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
They all look wonderful!
💜❤️💜
My Husband doesn’t like squash but I might get him to try this casserole 😊
Thank you for making your recipes so easy to PRINT! It’s a guaranteed way to try them out!
Those look really good, the grits one is a definite try!
Definitely! 💜🙌
🪻🪻I have tried the squash recipe. My recipe was different in the way you mix the ingredients. I also added some pimento to add a little color. It is one of my family's favorites. I have tried the broccoli casserole with cheese wiz and loved it. It is really good. I am hoping you do a church cookbook. I have soooo many but one more would not hurt!!
Just subscribed!!!!!!!!!! I love this channel!!!!!!! ❤❤❤
The best broccoli casserole i have had was made with Cheese wiz. You need to try it
Love Those Recipes 😋 😋 Be Blessed ❤😊
Thank you! Same to you! ❤️
Love these! Mandy just did a church cookbook episode too! Love yall both ♥️
Hey hey ❤❤
Love lovCHEESE all church recipes look good like Church recipes God. Bless 🙏❤️🙏
❤️❤️❤️🧀🧀🧀
Yes, the cheese whiz is very good. My Mom used it in her broccoli and cauliflower casserole!
I haven't tried any yet, but I will most definitely be trying the grit casserole recipe for sure😊
Hope you like it!
That variation of the squash casserole I am going to have to try.
My family has always used the Cheez-Whiz in our broccoli rice casserole. I don’t think I’ve had it any other way, but I’m willing to try this version. 🌺
Jen, the recipe that I use for a squash casserole has cornbread dressing instead of the herbed dressing mix. It also has sour cream and 2 to 3 heaping tablespoons of mayonnaise.
I use Saffron rice and Velveeta Cheese. I cube the cheese then mix in with cooked saffron rice to help it melt before I add steamed broccoli florets.
I definitely have made the broccoli rice casserole with cheez whiz. It was always a fav at holidays. I haven't made in some time as cheez whiz was hard to find for some time here . Im a northernern ,so the grits and squash casserole we're not too familiar with.
Loved this video! My grandma always made her broccoli rice casserole with cheese wiz, it was yummy!
Looks scrumptious! Can't wait to try it😊
Definitely try this recipe with chez whiz
Just finding this series and loving it!!! I love up north until September (relocating to VA) but my American family is from Mississippi and GA. It’s been so interesting to watch because a lot of these recipes I just cooked because I grew up on them not having any idea it’s just my roots! 😅😅 I LOVE me some squash casserole. Nobody up here knows what it is! Haha
Broccoli cheez whiz rice casserole was popular in the late 70s through the 80s. Every friend I had had her own version of it with slight variations. It was really good, but I don’t eat cheez whiz anymore. I’ve had to cut out a lot of heavily processed foods. On the squash casserole, try steaming the squash. That might help eliminate some of the water content. My husband doesn’t like grits, but I love them. I’ll make a small one just for me. ❤️
Also want to add, my mom made a good zucchini casserole that she submitted to her church for inclusion in their cookbook. I’ll send it to you if you’re interested.🌸
Yes, I would love that recipe! You can email it to me. Thanks so much for sharing! 💜💜
Yeah, please do! I LOVE Zucchini too! ❤
@@CookCleanAndRepeat I’ve searched your channel for your email, but can’t seem to find it. Where am I not looking? Thanks
