It was a quite light bike for the time.
Mine had the shift levers made of black plastic (12 speed)
Also the support of the seat was all plastic to be lighter, it broke during I was riding it...ouch...

Same here. It was a Gift from my father in 1985. I was 14 years old and It made me proud, riding this bike. Having this bike still in my property and riding still, last time one week ago. I won't give it away, because it remembers me to my father and the good old days with him, as he passed long time ago.

Old racing bikes were things of beauty. But gear levers on down tubes and dodgy rim brakes I do not miss.

Beautiful Restoration. Great to see a balance of old school knowledge and tips with modern tools and products. It would be cool if there was a clip of someone riding it after the resto!

Lovely restoration, once again breathing new life into these lovely older bikes. I've just inherited a 1990's Bob Jackson.

Love these bike restorations and this is an interesting Peugeot. Only one chainring and brake cable routed through the top tube. Oh, that's a TA bottle cage and good ol' Benotto ribbon handlebar tape. It's because of the videos you and your son do that has made me get interested in bike repair again.

I have a 1975 Peugeot with 6 speed cassette amd a cyclone derailleur. I think the big ring is 36 tooth so it is actually a legit climber in today's world. I love this machine and need to give it some love. Thanks for sharing your process. What an amazing video! Cheers , Fellas. Now I gotta buy some sh*t on your site. Peace.. ❤

Around 1977 I got my first new bike (every other bike I had was a hand me down) , it was a 5 speed racer called a chessington elite elan. Nobody seems to have heard of it.

Another great and most enjoyable video guys thx. You really outdid yourself on this bike how it turned out,it’s amazing how these beautiful vintage bikes are . So glad you used loose bearings on this one.. As for me I still have my 1979 Raleigh Grand Prix from high school in top shape. Cheers 🇨🇦

What a beauty. Had my fair share of Peugeots in the late 80's to early 90's, they always took me on so many adventures as a kid.
My "vintage" bike is a 1998 Specialized mountain bike that I bought new. It's gone through several iterations over the years, but I always kept that polished aluminum frame in good shape. I'm told it's quite rare...no idea.
