I at best am a complete amateur/beginner on piano, but I do love watching this guy play! All of his demos are out of this world good.
Thank you Jacob for a clear and concise breakout of the new features. I've been considering upgrading from a Yamaha digital piano to the Piano 4. Your demos really show off some of the advantages. No internal speakers is a bummer but that is to be expected from a stage type piano. And your intro/boogie woogie was flawless!
That gradual transition for splits is pretty cool 😎
Thank you for your answer, in fact, I always play with 1 Piano "Normal" and at the same time another Piano in Octave +1 and also Strings pads .... so I need at least 3 instruments at the same time
Don't play a lick of piano but enjoy watching demo vids.
dude same lol I'm a bassist, I just want to watch them play. I'll probably buy one someday, but definitely not Nord. This is so out of my league.
Bren Louis Surio very impressive, but are you a SLAPPER?
This keyboard is a Beast😎
So tasty! Always love keyboard demos. The stage 3 was a dream keyboard (despite my lack of piano skill) these high end nords are just soooooo tasty
Hi”to you” Thanks , = Charmingly played, good demo etc *- cheers .
Love it! Wish it was more affordable.
Switching sounds is waaaaay cool.
Nice jazz chops!
Piano and Strings sound superb but the Sax is total KWrap - You are an amazing player
No such thing as a good synth sax my guy
Wondering the improvements from the Stage 2-4 are....?
Nice ob on the demo, but two questions, please? How easy would it be to get it back to it's default if other users at a church are "experimenting with sounds?" LOL. And of course is it easy to get to the transposition menu also? We are thinking of buying this one. Thanks.
Decent demo, thanks. No talk about the feel and action of the piano 4 though. I understand it's more realistic to a real piano than the stage 3 is... is that right?
Hello! The Nord Stage3 and Piano4 share the same 88 key Triple Sensor keybad with Virtual Hammer Action Technology (it's designed by the Italian manufacturer Fatar), which feels great. The only instrument Nord makes with a higher end keybed is the Nord Grand, which features a Kawai designed keybed.

@@sweetwater hello ! I have a kawai es8 but having Key issues, do you know if they corrected their issues on the grand as it IS the same technology ?
Dream digipiano 🥰🥰
hi question? is that the original sounds in the keyboard or did u download them all? cuz I"m very much interest in this digital piano.
Im pretty sure those are presets
Nord has a split? Unbelievable :) Mammamia :)
That intro
Theres me and Ezkeys, then there are people who can really play.
Could someone help me figure out the chord progression at 2:25?
A bit late but it's something like this. The wide voicing of the left hand makes a lot of the sound by the way.
F maj, Abmaj7/9, Dbmaj7/9
does the piano sound when I plug it in or do I need a speaker to make it sound?
Hello! The Nord Piano 4 doesn't have a built in speaker, it will make no sounds without external speakers or headphones plugged into it.

How many instruments in Layers mode in same time can it do ? please
Hi there. That is a great question! The Nord Piano 4 would be able to not only layer different pianos, but also different synth patches, and normally the number of layers that you are able to do is based off of the polyphony that the piano is able to do, and if you are wanting to do 40 layer one notes or do multiple chord progressions. Feel free to give us a call and we will be able to walk you through that a bit more and dive in deeper!

How many instruments in Layers can have in same times ?
Great question! The Nord Piano 4 can layer one piano with one synth or sampled sound. However, pre-layered piano sounds are available for download from the Nord Piano Library, and these can be combined additionally with a synth/sampled sound. If you have any other questions, feel free to get in touch with a Sweetwater Sales Engineer. Thanks!

3:25 sheesh dude🤯
Was thinking about getting this but after your demo I see that my 20 year old Yamaha psr740 has all the same features. Thanks I just saved $3k!
I wonder what his opening lick is? It sounds kinda familiar.

How would this work as an 88 key controller for VI composing with separate sound libraries?
if you're not gonna use the built-in sounds you're better off with almost any other piano cuz these have awful actions
@@Kougeru completely not true. Having said that, don't buy a Nord to use as a midi controller. If you want to use a keyboard with sounds for VI you can take a look at Kawai MP11 and MP11se. Both of these pianos have the same keybed.
A Studio Logic SL88 Studio Grand would be an awesome midi controller if you want a nice action
Can this be used as a midi controller?
Hello! Yes, you can absolutely use this as a MIDI controller, both with a 5 pin MIDI cable plugged into a keyboard/sound module, or a USB cable plugged into a computer.

Does it have speakers or need headphones to hear sound?
Hello! There are no speakers built into the Nord Piano 4, you'll either need headphones or speakers. Nord makes these speakers for that purpose:

il suo obiettivo è
i love this piano, but im bassist :'(
you can play more than one instrument
why? Why?
l'apprentissage du piano peut vous aider à avoir une autre perspective de la basse. De plus, jouer du piano est vraiment cool.
You don't mention any organ or Hammond sounds... are they available?
* With the split, can you raise/lower the octave of the split? . . .
. . . like the top split return to middle C so you have essentially 2 keyboards?
Hello! There are no organ sounds available for the Nord Piano 4. For that you'd have to move to the Electro or Stage models. Yes, you can set up a split and change the range or octave of each layer, as explained in the manual linked below, on page 9: www.nordkeyboards.com/sites/default/files/files/downloads/manuals/nord-piano-4/Nord%20Piano%204%20English%20User%20Manual%20v1.0x%20Edition%20B.pdf

you can play the organs that are in the sample library

Does this keyboard have built-in speakers?
Hello! No, the Nord Piano 4 does not have built in speakers. You can use any speakers you already have, a pair of headphones, or you might consider these Piano Monitors that Nord makes specifically for this purpose:

I want to buy the nord piano 4 for my brother as a present and he has the KRK ROKIT ROKIT RP5 G4. Are these monitors sufficent to get a good sound?

Can I connect this to a guitar amplifier? How do I go about amplifying it for a live show
i would di it to the pa :) hopefully you're not playing live during quarantine !
papae the quarantine does not exist in Miami Florida 😂
Question: apologies if you answer this in the video; but, can you map the entire keyboard? For example, A0-C3 Bosendorfer Imperial, C#3-C5 Steinway Concert D, etc? There are certain piano models that I find better within their certain ranges. I was just curious about the mapping. I know you can split two tones.
Hello! Great question - the Nord Piano4 won't quite do what you're looking for. Nord pianos have a few pre-defined split points, indicated by green LEDs above the keybed (there are two split points per octave throughout the middle of the keyboard, but you can't chose which key is at the edge of the split point, you're fixed to Cs and Fs). Also, the Piano 4 can blend between sounds from its two separate piano and synth/sample engines, but you can't have two piano sounds (or two synth/sample sounds) layered at the same time, unfortunately. You won't be able to set part of the keyboard range to a Bosendorfer and part to a Steinway. This IS something you can do with the higher end Stage3, for what it's worth.

Just like Kurzweil, Nord almost refuses to adapt. This is why Korg has blown them out of the water. Forever
What do you mean?
non ho idea di
😍😢
If only I wasn't broke af xD I mean I don't even play piano but I would have buy it :°D
Does anyone ever use anything but the piano sound on these things? I mean, the rest of the sounds are mostly ridiculous right? The sax sounds like you’re stepping on a duck.
Exactly my thoughts!!!! But i think music composers might use different sound
Kind of, not really. Just for layers. The strings can be surprisingly nice depending on the use case.
they kinda suck. Kawai has best action and near best piano. Kurz has perhaps the best piano but terrible action. nord grand has the kawai action but cheesier piano and not as good sounds, but upgradeable sounds. hmmm. I went with a MP7. its fantastic.
"stepping on a duck" !!!
n. 1 !
:D
my future by billie and finneas was recorded using the electric sound. also in a lot of rap and r&b there is like the cello etc. some things also might sound better to other people more than others. so its really just what you prefer
$3,000 is a lot of money for a digital piano
Mike Campbell I've got a stage 3, worth every penny dude. The quality of the sound, the flexibility, the control, everything about it is high end. The only thing I really don't like is having only EQ with only one band w/ variable frequency mid. But that's getting rather technical, for a performer though it's a dream
They are but these are worth it if you want the best for your money.

10:28 Either this keyboard has massive latency, or your A/V sync of the video is off.
Are these fully weighted keys?
Hi, Michael! Thanks for your interest. Yes indeed, the Piano 4 has fully weighted, hammer-action keys. In my opinion, they're some of the best-feeling keys you can get on a digital piano. Feel free to contact me directly with further questions, and thanks again!

Can't play two samples at the time? Big no for me
SOUND CHARACTERS
Nord - metal sound ... feeling solid & precise
Kurzweil - wooden sound ... feeling warm & natural
Japanese brands / Roland, Yamaha, Casio, Korg.. - plastic sound ... feeling somthing artificial
3,000$ is a lot for a digital piano.
But this almost isn't even digital
Factory split points? Wtf
it looks like people are afraid to say these nord piano are just well marketed mid-quality overpriced pieces of... keyboards... go actually put your hands on some of them then you'll realize they are barely worth one third of the price they ask
I always played acoustic pianos, mostly Yamaha.
Steinways are definitely excellent pianos, as Bosendorfer and similar.
Are they worth the HUGE price difference compared to a Yamaha?
I don't think so either...
Assuming it is in good shape, an acoustic piano is usually as good as the technician who tuned, voiced and set it up properly...
You've played acoustic pianos... then how comes you don't understand that in the entire digital piano industry no company gives you a more authentic tone than that of the Nord? They might fall behind keyscape, VSL or Spitfire, (and by a small margin at that ), but if one plays acoustics and if he / she got a good musical ear there's no way for him or her to not see the enormous advantage of the Nord in piano tone reproduction. Yes they are expensive, surely they got things to improve but in terms of sound they remain unmatched in these very seconds that i'm writing this comment.
P.S. I completely agree with what you said about the acoustic pianos. They are as good as their tuners! ☺️
Best!
I had the chance to try several nord models and I am NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL about their piano sound (and their keyboard action too). So what you say is totally your opinion, not a fact. Personally I prefer the Kawai piano sound. I recently bought an MP7SE, for a bit more than 1/3 of the price of the piano in this video and I really wouldn't replace it with that nord. So let's agree to (totally) disagree.
@@TheEndlessquest4k But it's not about what we like ... It's about what sounds more authentic. Kawai's not bad, but you, or rather I would never confuse it with an acoustic piano. There's no comparison at all. I don't own a nord but judging from what I've heard I can say with certainty that Nord piano sounds can compare with top VSTs, being not too far from them in terms of quality. And the best VSTs sound far better than all digital pianos in the market currently.
Yes, let's agree to disagree! :)
@UCj6-QkIZQ2pimTA_EAEwKyA Yeah. And I think you don't hear well. Musically at least. I'm talking soundwise. That's why i'm mentioning VSTs. And in that particular perspective, despite everything that might not go well with Nord no serious musician would suggest Nord is doing propaganda to favor their products. They're expensive, but ghey're top othe line products
I don't want synths and et on a piano. Not interesting .I can use 10 times better things from other sources.Just honest pianos. No strings attached;-)))
