- I have been doing a bit of fishing in and around Colorado Springs and I wanted to show you how I pan fry my fish. This is a recipe that my mother and grandfather showed me growing up fishing off of the coast of southern Florida. We would catch a lot of Whiting and since trout is very similar, this method works great! If you like cooking, please check out my other channel @Cooking With The Tachna's

Salt, Pepper, and a sprig of thyme in the butter/oil is my personal favorite. Love thyme and trout.

I made thyme infused oil. It's amazing!
Ooh yes.😊

If the bones are soft, eat them! They are a fantastic source of calcium. You can do the same with sardines. 👌
Thanks for the tips!! Looks delicious!
Thanks for watching! I'm not to big on eating the bones no matter how small and soft they are but that is just me. Since you like the cooking video, you may want to check out my other channel @cookingwiththetachnas. Make sure to support the channel(s) by subscribing!
I have to add as a home chef that seasoning the skin side is good, but seasoning the flesh is also desirable for overall flavor. This is also for all fish seasoning.

Amazing video. I will start to pan fry my trout like that from now on! Huge fan also!
Thank you so much for watching the videos! Enjoy pan frying your fish! I am hoping for a couple more nice days to go out fishing this season. I am not an ice fisherman so most likely my videos will start up again next season.
Thank you, good video, I will try your recipe

Its best to season in and out of fish prior to frying . Still a nice tutorial.
Thanks for watching and your feedback. I’ll try that next time. Please help support the channel by subscribing!
I am trying it!
Great. It is delicious.
Try Old Bay Seasoning, but never cut the dorsal fin off. After the fish is cooked, pull the dorsal fin out and it will bring a lot of bones with it.
I love old bay. I’m just cooking the fish the way I was taught. There is no right or wrong way, just a different ways.
Piss poor reply.
How much time in total? Because you were already cooking for awhile when you set the timer.
I do about 3 - 5 minutes per side, depending on how big the fish is. I do leave the lid on for just a little bit but take it off so the skin is crispy. Is there any way of cooking trout that will make the bones edible like in canned salmon? I love trout but its so much work to avoid the bones and since they aren't that big, not that much reward for all the work. Thanks in advance for any answers re cooking.
I really don't know. Sorry. Trout can grow fairly large. I have caught some really large ones in 11 Mile Reservoir. Thanks for watching. Sorry I can't be of more help with your question. Please help support the channel by subscribing!
fillet, then cut out the meat that contains the bones, you can feel them, and it should be a minimal loss
He's got to know it's seasoning salt not seasonal salt right?
The seasoning is "Season All" by Morton. Good stuff. Thanks for watching and for the comment.
Dont know how anyone cooks on electric...i myself ruin almost everything I try to cook on electric. Credit to anyone who can make a good meal on electric lol
I’d love to get a gas stove. Electric is challenging.
That house will stink for days after that.
Open a window. It airs out quickly.
