- The Final meeting between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Ottawa Senators took place Tuesday night at Canadian Tire Centre. The Previous two meetings between these clubs were both high-scoring matches, but this game was different. The first two periods were both scoreless but shared a total of 16 penalty minutes. The amount of special teams time made it hard for any momentum to be made. Halfway through the 3rd, Ottawa scored first but was quickly called back due to goaltender interference. The no-goal call made Ottawa push harder. They responded with a good goal minutes later by Jake Sanderson. With time ticking down, Pittsburgh pulled their goalie for the extra attacker. Evgeni Malkin skated the puck across the right to the left point. Malkin wound up and on his shot, broke his stick. The puck trickled to the net like a knuckle puck and bounced around. Michael Bunting sat on the backdoor waiting to tap the loose puck in. In the chaos of the scramble, the puck just barely crossed the goal line and was determined to be a good goal after a short review. That was Bunting's first goal as a Penguin and his 14th this season. Tied at the end of three periods, the game went into overtime. Drake Batherson scored the game-winning goal making the final score 2-1 for Ottawa.

That line change by Sid rofl
pain.
I was born in 1960. I have been a Pens fans since i was 7, and I live in Des Moines, before the NHL was even on TV. I lived through the years when we were terrible. Dubas has taken us far beyond those terrible days into the pits of despair
out of words
In OT. Letang fans on a key scoring chance and then falls over nothing. Jarry has to bail him out. I love the guy, but damn, really screwing the pooch lately.
Not Crosby who began to change!? Is Letang to blame?
Pens look old. Stumbling.. lots of turnovers. Wow. Decline in full motion now
Team's tankin' or what?
I think so. I hope so.
@@lcglazer Don't know what to think anymore.
I hope not considering they don’t have a first round pick
@@Karl-Schmidt Not until 2025, yeah? Their last draft picks seem to be doing alright, though who knows how that'll end up.
Age aside, I just can't make sense of this season.
@@Karl-Schmidt They will have one if they tank to the bottom 10th in standings
Letang and Malkin need to go.
No they dont lol. Unless you're trying to be worse
Malkin doesn't even look like he wants to be there anymore. Get rid of him.
No
Not a surprise pits lost lol if Jake was here they would’ve had a better chance at winning
A better showing, but they're still making crucial mistakes. Ottawa, just didn't capitalize on them till
overtime
Wow Letang had a God awful OT…missed the game winning goal and then falls like he never played hockey in his life
I think Crosby is not shooting enough, instead trying to set teammates up. What’s interesting is that Pittsburgh were winning earlier in season when Sid was shooting more And Scoring. He needs to focus on shooting more and by doing that puts the team on his back
Thanks god I saw it from OT 😅
Since the first min of bad offence of two teams, the result seems to be predictable 😅
God damit! How good is Jarry right now? Without him, this game would not be so even.
And happy for M.Bunting :) first goal in Pittsburgh uniform.
Keep your head up guys, just do better ;)
hopefully we get celebrini
Petterson has been lacking lately
this is the worst penguins team since 2004...
Had no fight in ot.
🐧💔
A better effort, and Jarry was good. New guy taps one in which is good to see. *sigh*....maybe next year....
Jarry has let us down game after game.. neddy as well. They’re both hot garbage and need traded
@@chokeama3389 Pens goaltending is top ten at this point in the season. Not sure what you're talking about. If you think goaltending is the Pens issue you don't know hockey.
@@BradAlan72 100%. The Pens have zero defense. Jarry is outstanding given he has zero help.
@@BradAlan72 alright well jarry is ranked 37nd and Neddy is 55… so idk about “top 10” lmao 💀💀💀
@@chokeama3389 Not like theres been any D playing in front of either of them.
Time to get rid of some of these “vets” and start fresh. This is getting old, literally
Get rid of Crosby too. Rebuild
The vets aren't the problem
Tanger ..... In-One, USA.
Jarry looked like he didn’t have a good night
What?!?!
It did look like it though but he is still my favorite goalie
Booooooooo
Jarry is going to lead all NHL goalies in losses this season.
While still being tied for most shutouts lol
If you're putting that on him you're insane
fr
He played good! He had a lot of big saves and kept them in the game its not on him if we can't score goals!
@@conradsidoroff the goalie has one job, keep the puck out of the goal. Preventing the team from scoring more goals than your team is how you win. New to ice hockey or something?
I spell this P A T H E T S A D % # F A R T B A L L I'm a bad speller and have touretes. You get the idea.
Get. New. Goalies.
Get. New. Brain.
@@PETER123-we5sj dealing with goalies who aren’t even top 20 is wasting our time. They’re unreliable and unpredictable. 37th (jarry) and 55th (neddy) is inexcusable for a team that wants another shot at the cup. Neither will get us there.
You have to be a special kind of stupid to blame the goalies this season
