    I'm only 16 and still learning to program. Even though I'm not going to apply for a tech job any time soon I still like your videos and I'll remember this one for the future 😄

    2:25 Can you elaborate on how LaTeX optimizes for ATS? What's so different about creating a PDF file in LaTeX vs in Word/Google Docs?

    Thank you for this video. What are some other things you would put in 'Concepts' section under 'Technical Skills' besides object-oriented design and data structures and algorithms? Also, would you instead suggest putting these things in a 'Courses' section under 'Education'?

    • @Codebagel
      @Codebagel  Před rokem +1

      A courses section under education can be an awesome idea if you have applicable courses! I personally choose to move them to the technical skills section because most of my knowledge was self-taught, but go ahead and add a courses section under education if that’s more accurate for you.
      As for other things to add, I would tailor it to the job posting. If the job posting asks for familiarity with artificial intelligence, add it here. If it asks for familiarity with cloud computing, add it here. (assuming you actually have these skills)

    If I have no work experience (I do have a part-time job listed but not software engineering), should I move that section towards the bottom and move skills and projects towards the top? Or keep as is?

    • @Codebagel
      @Codebagel  Před rokem

      You can move projects up if they’re really stand-out, but usually it doesn’t matter.

    Quantified data shows that recruiters / hiring managers look at a resume for approximately 6 seconds. However, i think in reality its along the lines of 30-60 seconds. Naturally, people read resumes starting from the top, So if i theoretically have 6 seconds to catch their attention, why wouldnt i better utilize that space with my most relevant information such as a good summary section instead of education "the least important part" ? Not saying its wrong, just looking for understanding.

    • @zxenon_
      @zxenon_ Před rokem

      That's what I think as well. A short summary and next after the work history.
      Education can come maybe just before the end (tech skills)
