Because his entire family sacrificed everything just so he could race. Everyone knows his dad worked 4 jobs at times to support him. But even his stepmum poured all her money into his racing career, instead of buying clothes and stuff for herself. The entire family never went on holidays never had nice dinners outside, all just so he could continue racing. He knows he wouldnt be where he is today without them
Lewis is one of the rare people whose life is almost too unbelievable to be a movie. Truly inspirational!

You know, now without the whole untouchable Mercedes domination this year, we get to actually see just how much racecraft Lewis actually has and how much he uses his experience to squeeze every last ounce of pace out of the car. You can absolutely see how he managed to break records and then some more. Love it.

Lewis even talks with surgeon-like precision. Everything he does is cool and calculated, it is easy to see why he is a 7-time champion.
He's so gentle and soft-spoken, with a indescribable power aura surrounding him. Hard working and insanely smart.

Lewis was the reason many people around the world became formula One fans. He attracted new viewership & the ratings of F1 went through the roof. Since 2007 there has been a sevenfold increase of new fans, viewership & ratings. Thanks to Lewis Hamilton. Lewis has influenced formula One in unimaginable ways. What a legend. What a hero.
Meh. Viewership was dwindling until Liberty Media's acquisition of the F1 brand. Then it was on an upward trajectory.

As a verstappen and Red Bull fan. I can put that aside and as a formula 1 fan say Lewis Hamilton is a legend and deserves all the recognition and respect. His life experiences and how much he had to endure growing up and become a 7 time world champion... absolute beast.

This is why I love Lewis Hamilton --- he's genuine, so down to earth and he doesn't act like all imperious because he's famous. He's still a kid at heart living his dream. And I love how he talked about his dad and Roscoe. Such a nice human being.

Lewis' attitude made me discover a lot about myself that i didn't know i had the power to do. Totally a hero, a hero i definitely look forward to meeting one day.

It is surprising that in fact his true success didn't come until 2014.
I remember him already being like a legend when he was at Mclaren and had only won a title in like seven years and always was behind Vettel and Alonso. I remember he was in Cars 2.

Sir Lewis Hamilton, he is the epitome of a role model- legend, G.O.A.T of F1. Wonderful person and a genuinely good guy. Kindhearted and gentle, yet powerful and stronger than so many of us.
The most complex and complete person I have ever seen, the way he took defeat in 2o21 raised the bar in humanity for me. Special person and the GOAT for me.

I keep up with so many sports but never have I come across any athlete as kind-hearted, humble, and talented as Lewis. He’s truly one of a kind. So glad kids of color have someone like him to look up to. I hope he stays in formula 1 for as long as possible- the sport wouldn’t be the same without him.
Man. That 07 season was mad. Fernando was the undisputed king and out of nowhere the rookie matches him for pace and ferocity. I watched the gp2 (formula 2) season in 06 and it was clear lewis was going to be good in f1 but wow.

As an American, I didn't follow F1, particularly as it was never on tv. Lewis is the driver that got me interested in the sport and I've been following him ever since.

The blatant disrespect and disregard for this man’s character, skill, and hard earned success is profound. In this setting, outside of f1 (where his fashionability is also understood) it’s hard to imagine him as anything beneath a legend.
The color of his skin is genuinely the only reason people hate him. It's BS if they say anything else.

Leaned so much about Sir Lewis this year. In an adverse situation he has been superb, patient, dedicated, no silver spoon mentality of course. This is such a generous interview, so open, such a beacon, come on kids, it's this way. So proud of him, such a huge ambassador for the UK.
I wish this had more important life changing moments like winning his first title, surpassing Schumacher’s winning record,one of his best races like Silverstone 2008 or when the take the knee/we race as one was created.

I love this man! The humble beginnings he had, all the discrimination he faced as a person of colour on the track and how he says ‘our success’ acknowledging his mothers, the sacrifices his father had to make…. A truly truly inspiring story and a true legend ❤
Nothing in the world of sport would give me more pleasure than witnessing Lewis win title #8. Perhaps not this year, hopefully 2023. A win during 2022 would continue his massively impressive list of statistics by winning at least one race in every season in which he's participated. Sir Lewis. Living legend.

I'm an American F1 fan who's been into the sport for years. I remember when Lewis came into F1 in 2007 when expectations for him were huge. It was obvious he was a young driver with huge potential for world championships. I've been a fan ever since then. He's one of the absolute greats of Formula 1 and he'll be remembered among the giants of the sport along with Fangio, Clark, Senna and Schumacher.
Its amazing how life comes full circle... came in 5th to win a that first championship in carting and in F1 he came in 5th to win the world championship the first time... beautiful
Such an interesting life story. I really enjoy hearing him talk, he has a lot of interesting things to say, and I’m glad he’s using his voice more recently, to maybe try and change a few not so great things about this sport.
Also, great to see people finally appreciating him. I’m glad he was in a merc and won so many titles, but i feel like that made people forget how great he really is behind the wheel.
Not a Lewis fan but I have mad respect for him. This was nice. Always good to see someone making a positive impact on their community , their people and being a good role model.

What a lovely man! I feel honored to get to watch his career while he’s still active. I imagine that he’ll forever be remembered and written into history books as a legend.
No matter who says what, or believes in, this is achievement himself speaking in a bright orange overfitting jacket, chilling on a coach, explaining how he got to be who he is. That is about it.

the amount of love and respect i have for lewis is insane. he got me hooked into f1, and i just absolutely adore him as a racer and as a human being. i love how he is representing poc in a predominantly white sport, and he is not only humble, but does not care about the macho male stereotype of motor sport, and serves incredible androgynous outfits which he stays slaying in. glad he still has the passion and drive after all these years, and im looking forward to seeing him win his 8th (if we aren't counting last year😮💨) world title

The more I find about Lewis the more deeper my understanding is for him. I'm pretty sure that he promised his father and his family to pay them back for the sacrifices they had to make in order to keep him racing. He fought a nemesis inside him to make his promise a reality.
Lewis takes shape as a great humanitarian. He's helped recognize importance of equality in a very racist world. The world needs more Lewis Hamiltons and Sebastian Vettels.

I was never into F1. Then I started watching the show on NetFlix. I really liked what I saw. Then seeing Hamilton, Wolff and the team. He seemed just like a normal person that enjoys what he does' is very good at it, but is also very humble about it all. Now that I got my GF into it, and she watched the show and has been watching the races this year with me. We are both big Lewis fans. We like some others. But we always root for Lewis and George/Mercedes..
