France prison break: Guards killed and attackers on the run

- At least two French prison officers were killed and others wounded on Tuesday, May 14, in an attack on a prison van transporting an inmate who escaped. The ramming attack took place late morning at a road toll in Incarville in the Eure region of northern France. The inmate was being transported between the towns of Rouen and Evreux in Normandy. A police source said that the attack was carried out by a team of several individuals who arrived in two vehicles and themselves later fled.
One of them was also wounded, a police source said, but it was not immediately clear how many attackers there were in total. Justice Minister Eric Dupond-Moretti confirmed the attack on the prison convoy and said on X he was immediately heading to a crisis cell at his ministry.

The fact that the BBC reported this without giving a description of the escapees (something I'd think would be important if you want them to be recaptured) means that they must be from the religion of (not) peace.

@@eyesoddin the ukt, we wake them up at 6 in the morning of the court appearance, and they are not allowed a phone call.... however, solicitors are told in advance ( obviously) and they can inform others of the date and time. It wouldn't surprise me if the prisoner had a mobile phone up his arse too

As an ex prison officer myself, this was my worst fear when transporting a dangerous prisoner.
It begs the question....why didn't the jail van not have an armed police escort.

One thing we already know, eventhough that's not officially reported: the attack was (most likely) not done by white male Caucasians. If THAT was the case, the report would have mentioned that already.
It is a known fact that government is shying away from reporting the descriptions if the asailants appear to be non-Caucasian.
And in terms of likelyhood, two facts are deciding here. First, the inmate's background. After all: "tell me who you are and I'll tell you who your friends are". And second: it is a fact (supported by statistics) that certain demograhics are "overrepresented" in the prison population. This in itself is no guarantee but it does point out in which direction one should look first.
