    Excellent. Excellent. Excellent. For me, disc lumbar issues have been a life issue for over 20 years. Yet, to assist in addressing the anxiety and fear that pain and uncertainty brings - education is vital. I have thrown myself into understanding and obtaining relevant and qualified knowledge of an extremely complex area. Your approach through simple and sensible outlines and illustrations really assists in recovery. For me, and others. Thanks.

    I’m so happy you have taken the time to post these videos..... I’m a post; M-D, radio frequency, multiple injections, so far every procedure possible patient. I’ve had great results from the first surgery in 1991. I’ve had maintenance procedures everything suggested, each time a procedure was done I’ve had less positive results. I’m at the point where I’ve had a Neurological stimulator installed internally, 2013, to help combat the constant pain, but that’s a temporary issue like anything… Still having to take medication… Doesn’t seem like there’s an end to this in sight. Because of the latest implant procedure I’m no longer able to get MRI exams, but the hard part is I’m stuck in this condition. I’ve enjoyed your videos.. it has added to my studies, you have aided in my understanding a great deal. Most importantly it has been a great relief to hear someone take the time to discuss in detail what I’m reading & feeling. Therefore reducing my frustration, what a gift!!! Frustration leads to stress, to pain on top of pain.... you have heard the drill before. You sir, have both a brain & a heart.... and they are connected.... Many times I’ve visited with doctors who have neither!!!! Not only doctors have this condition every profession has these types of people. Unfortunately they give the term professional a bad name. Once again you are a patient doctor... that is the best kind of doctor & a great person. Thanks for you effort, time, & perseverance, that is a recipe for grace. Thanks again.

    Your videos are SO helpful, SO easy to follow and learn. Kind of crazy how hard it is to find good diagnosis and help. You never know that until you get hurt and see for yourself the medical field ( especially with crap insurance). We have to learn all about our own conditions, understand our MRIs and talk with Drs etc. We have to be ready to ask q and even challenge Drs if need be.

    Thank you for these videos. In the video you stated. "Would i say you are fine no ruptured disk? NO I would not say that."
    What do you do when 8 Drs say you are good no damage? Or the only thing they will say is " I don't see anything to cut on?" But You actually had the first Dr. show you what the problems are and told you how to fix it. You can point out ruptured disks to them and they end the appointment. What do you do then?

      @douglasgillarddcprofessoro5285  Před 10 měsíci

      You have to be very careful with diagnosing a "symptomatic" disc herniation. It is well known that 30% of people over the age of 40 years have disc herniations on MRI yet have no pain at all. So even if you do have something, that something has to make clinical sense. It seems like a lot of doctors think that your problem imaging is not the cause of your pain. The only thing you can do is go to a large teaching hospital and get an opinion from them. Examples would be hospital for special surgeries in New York or University California San Francisco in California. They both have excellent and trustworthy spine programs. Good luck!

    Doctor... I have been with lumbar pain during 4 months.... it was after deadlifting. Then I had some numbness in my left feet with some minimal pain. Then the pain and numbness went away and now I'm only with a minimal but chronic pain in the lumbar left side. I went into an MRI and It says that I have a "minimal L5-S1 posteromedial disc bulge"... everything else is normal. My Dr. told me the disc bulge is not pinching any nerve, however I have a minimal chronic pain. He will sent me to a "pain psychologist" who is speciallized in spine issues because he thinks my pain is being triggered in the most part by my mind. What do you think?

      No! a bulge is a general outpouching of the entire back of the disc (commonly seen in people with back pain). A protrusion is a small disc herniation--not so commonly seen (depending on the size of it) in people with back and leg pain.

    You said at around 7:35 that the smaller disc protrusions do not reabsorb at all,yet you say the bigger leaked herniated disc has a 50% chance of reabsorbing. How is this possible? Doesn't a smaller protrusion have a better chance of reabsorbing?

    • @douglasgillarddcprofessoro5285
      @douglasgillarddcprofessoro5285  Před 5 lety +1

      Smaller herniations are still "contained" by the posterior longitudinal ligament, so they are not in contact with the epidural venous plexus. Therefore, these smaller ones are not "seen" by the immune system and not absorbed well.

It's been a couple years since the last scan of the Cervical Spine which revealed Bilateral Neural Foraminal Stenosis; previous years ago I been diagnosed with Scheuermann's Disease, which is a curved spine wedged vertebrae; Osteophytes; Disc Bulging; Disc Degeneration. Basically, life is endless hell with 24/7 severe back and neck pain; headaches; shoulder pain; leg pain; numb fingers and toes and twitching in feet. The doctors and surgeons here are complete morons. Do you know a place where I can send a copy of my MRI Images, and get a proper diagnosis and a recommended treatment.
