Lighting is a bit yellow+ i assume you have LED lights, as I can see strobing from your hand in fast movement. deffo get either some natural light or something LED with a higher refresh rate. Maybe white balance the camera if you can?
Yeah, that's what I thought when I watched it back, even after making it less yellow in the editing process by adjusting the filters. It's annoying because I had perfect natural light in my old office, I am going to have to play around a bit to get this right I think.
I'd maybe see if a set of used redhead lights is an option. Not very power efficient but they do kick out huge amounts of light. I'm old school, so I'm sure there are much better options these days. I think you just need to watch out for how led panels make their white light, as some use weird parts of the colour spectrum and can look off on camera.

The PS 1 was such a huge success. At the time I never got one because I was into PC gaming and played those games at friends and family houses. I joined the bandwagen from PS2 onward and never looked back❤
I burnt out 2 x PSONE's with the official Beatmania controller before working out what the problem was. Something about too much power draw I guess.
The original playstation was the first and last console or computer that i bought brand new. It was from a catalogue back in 98 and it came with Tomb Raider, ISS Pro and i think Toca Touring Cars or Ridge Racer. Like you, that was a period where i was working all week then drinking and partying at weekends and seeing family so i fell away from gaming for a few years but the playstation was always there at mine or a mates house, before or after the pub. I remember me, my dad and brother playing Premier Manager 99 back in the early 2000s when i was gisiting hone from working away 🙂.

Sorry, I don't want to be a robot reading a script, there are plenty of channels that do that, that isn't and is never what my channel will be about, so if you want that go elsewhere.
My channel is all about sharing passion, nostalgia and memories and that is why I have an amazing community built up around it that have amazing discussions in the comments of most of my videos - and I like it like that. There are plenty of boring tech review channels you can watch if that's not your thing. 🙄

I am not a big fan of removing the power brick from inside tue console to make it smaller, it is a "cheap" (as in cheating) way to make it smaller.
Thar said, the Ps One really was an improvement in reliability and disc loading speed.
I got a ps1 on import from Japan when it first came out. It came with tekken smd ridge racer for a bargain £750. Yeh it cost a months wages but it was worth every penny.
I have an SCPH-1001 model, which I guess is the "audiophile" model due to the built in composite output. I couldn't tell you if it makes a difference to use those outputs, but the system works like a champ when playing games. I've mostly used it to play Japanese imports using a software mod on a memory card. However, I still own a few titles from before the house fire, including my copy of Wild Arms that survived two separate house fires, miraculously.

I think the PSOne looks cooler, but I have two of the old models, because I like system link and the newer models don't support that.
The title should be: PlayStation vs PSone. I had it when it came out and it was simply called PlayStation. Now if you want to say, it's called PS1 because it was the first one out... My question would be, who calls the first Xbox Xbox1? It's the original Xbox. Just like this is the original PlayStation vs PSone. You had it corrected here 10:59, 13:03 and here 14:22. The way to tell the difference is to simply read the name displayed on the lid of each console... PlayStation and PSone. Nowhere does it say PlayStation 1/PS1. Not on the box, not on the console, not in any commercial or advertisement.
You will notice that I put PlayStation, PS1 and PSone in the video title , this was so it would be picked up in searches. So a purely SEO decision, not a historically accurate one!

Hot damnit, i still often times do imagine that what if the playstation did failed, then it would,ve proved that nintendo’s cancelation of the snes playstation addon wasn’t a bad idea and they wouldn’t had regretted doing so anyway,
Am mean if if the snes playstation addon was released then i think it wouldn’t have sold more then 4 million units.

Yes, I said that in the video, but that is obviously how the power button got damaged.
What kind of lighting are you using? It looked a little too bright and yellow. Do you have a diffuser? If not, it might be worth getting one.
Just LED lights, as I was saying in a discussion on another comment, it definitely looks too yellow and I'm going to have to experiment a bit with how I film these videos.
@@TheLairdsLair itll be worth tinkering with. I dont think youll have to do too much to getvthe desired result. A diffuser is definitely worth getting as is a deflector (or whatever the technical word for it is) but you can reflect the light of a white wall or ceiling too. Its been over 20 years since i did my media course but i hope that helps.

That's probably because he was one of the first CZcamsrs I followed and I always loved his stuff. It amazing when I got to work with him later on.
Saturn cases were way worse than PS1 if you lived in the UK they were basically cardboard.
PAL Saturn cases were solid plastic with cardboard over the top, the card comes unstuck over time but I wouldn't say they break easily, you look at PS1 game and the hinges snap.
@@TheLairdsLair Saturn cases look awful though there labels damage easy where as PS1 cases can be changed easily. The US Saturn cases are much better they should have reused the Mega CD cases.
Im over half way through. What on earth happened?! This is so far from his usual content. It's just a video of 2 consoles with him waffling over the top. Unplanned, no script, poor lightning, zero games. Just a million miles away from his contemporaries. Oh dear. Not what i expect from such a video on CZcams these days. This ain't for me.
I mention in the video that I was playing with a new camera and lighting in a new studio, unfortunately the video didn't quite come out like I wanted to but it helped me fix this for future videos. As for it being "unplanned" I NEVER script hardware reviews, I have mentioned this many times, so it's no different from my usual videos of this type in that regard. Not sure what you mean about zero games, there are absolutely games in this video.
Sorry it's not for you, but others seem to have enjoyed it regardless of the lighting/camera issues.
@TheLairdsLair I turned off around 13 minutes ish - was bored. Your videos are normally exceptional and different to most others. I normally really enjoy them. This was far below your normal content in my opinion, hence the comment. The lighting wasn't my issue, it was that someone filmed 2 consoles and talked about things that have been covered 1000s and 1000s of times in the intervening years. You're way better than that in every video I've watched of yours. Thought it worth the effort of typing.
Well, sorry, I'm not really sure what I would do different if I made it again apart from the lighting, but I appreciate the feedback anyway.
