Over 100 Nintendo Game Boy Games In Under 1 Hour
I was expecting games released specifically for the GS in the early 90s, not just anything stuck on a cart from 81 onwards.
There aren't that many, so I put earlier cartridge games in the video too, which I thought would be interesting.
@TheLairdsLair it's just that we had a 64 from Christmas 84, but my younger brother saved every penny from every possible source for 2 1/2 years to buy an A500, so the 64 got less and less use, and I left school in 90 too, so had less time for it, so there's a ton of stuff from it's final years I never saw, and was just curious to see how things were at the end is all mate.
There is some stuff like Toki, Battle Command, S.C.I. and Shadow of the Beast that is really impressive but not enough of it sadly.
@@TheLairdsLair thanks mate, I'll have a gander
Virtuality was the product I believe - the company behind it was W Industries. I worked with one of their machines at a shop in meadowhall in Sheffield in the early 90s. F***ing hated that thing!!
One has just appeared in a local Facebook For Sales page here at Folkestone (that's what made me look it up on CZcams), apparently complete with several cartridges and two joysticks all for £20. I thought it might be worth a bit more given the rising interest in retro computers.
That's a bargain, snap it up!
How on earth was sim city, a train, frontier elite ii, desert strike and champ manager not higher?!?
I just ordered a Saroo everdrive to play lots of games . My Saturn was dead for almost 20 years. It's time to bring it to life
Sadly the CD32 stomped all over all these systems but was never marketed by Commodore :( Capable of FMV easily, silky smooth locked 60fps on all these games the Mega CD and 32X with CD struggled with. Oh, what could have been
I'm not a materialistic person but before I die I really want a Sega CD again. I don't need a Lambo. I just want to relive my childhood one last time. Wonder Dog, Rise of the Dragon, Sewer Shark and Batman Returns. Oh sonic CD was really good as well. I played Luna to death too. Really good version of Streets of Rage. Silphead was fun as hell.
Where is contra 😢
Its strange that Princess Maker isn't here
I remember my dad drooling over an article of a 1450XLD in either "Compute" or "Antic" magazine in the 80's. I was about 7 or 8 at the time and we'd had a maxed out 800 with dual floppies since the early 80's. I remember the faster drives were called Happy drives or something like that and you could convert existing ones to this standard. He was part of the big UK Atari scene. Atari really missed a trick with not releasing this or the other model with enhanced graphics and sound.
Awesome video but difficult to make out each title
Congrats on the 15k but I swear I saw videos of yours about 2 years ago and you had 12k then? Have things slowed down a lot? I am a big fan of gamer channels like Guru Larry and Kim Justice plus the niche smaller ones like yours so keep it up! Here's to 16k next year dude!
I had an old channel that I lost due to copyright strikes and that was on 17k when it was taken down, but that was a lot longer than 2 years ago as I started this new one in Feb 2020.
IMHO we need to separate this into 2 lists "best 1 player games" and "best 2 player games" as the system had some terrific 2 player games that were terrible or impossible with only 1 player
Which game is 19:29?
It does show the name, it's Policenauts
60 programs for the dragon 32 book has some errors too - its two different books i think (the pdf is different from the real book) thanks...................
I think Villain could be a contender. And possible the only 'Joystick Wiggler' game for the VIC.
Monkey Island 😮
I don't remember tomb raider being a Saturn exclusive. Thank you
They should have called this company ArcadeClone..lol
13:20 What exactly is happening on the left side of the screen in that game? 😁
No idea! But she is getting very exited!
Umm, what exactly is going on at the left of the screen starting at 13:19?
If I played all properly, it would be less than 20 minutes 😀
Are you aware of or the same person as the old Laird who had a game store? And had a webpage about it?
I've never owned a game store, so not me!
By the time i bought a sega Saturn, it came with a 3 pack of games, daytona USA, virtua cop, and virtua fighter 2. It was a great starter pack for my collection. In 2024, saturn games are expensive just as they were in 2000 with some games being several hundred dollars now. 🙂
I bought mine with nights into dreams, sonic r, and panzer dragoon. Still have everything too
A shame UoPoko didn't get included. It plays almost like Mushi-hime-tama but has a nice theme. Tama also means ball so hence it's a ball oriented puzzle game. Mushi hime means "bug princess."
Is that not the game at 13:20?
Some of the top down shooters look good
The 80's, 90's and early 2000's such a great time to be alive playing games at the arcade growing up.
some of the flyers don't match the game, like Bust a Groove and Death Smiles II
Graphic and sound remind me the Sega Master System
Same hardware family. Sega's first console the SG-1000 was based on the MSX standard and the Master System is basically the same hardware with a new graphics chip.
Another great vid a few games I never seen and I would love to have a play on ..Mr laird's lair I would really like to see and appreciate a video on retro games that can consume your weekend to play through like hero quest /space crusade zulu on the specy something to dump a few good hours in 😊
Maybe one day, I rarely have the time to play games these days unfortunately, let alone for a whole weekend! I have had the urge for a Theme Park marathon recently however.
@@TheLairdsLair it's cool I understand the time thing maybe just a poll of people opinion on time sink games but I really hope to see a theme park video or theme hospital bullfrog put so much humour into ther games .what ever you choose to do il watch as the content is banging
The Laird's Lair, You're amazing! Let's be friends and have fun together!
Now I saw why exactly "Run Saber" of the Super NES and "Strider" of the Arcade (later, adapted to Mega Drive and several other systems) are so frequently compared to each other: "Run Saber" and "Osman" are by Atlus. "Osman" was created by the same minds behind "Strider": Kouichi Yotsui among others, ex-employees from Capcom. I wonder if they're the same ones who developed "Run Saber" as well... Wait... NYankies/Rockin' Kats had an arcade version...? And based upon NES' hardware?
Yes, apparently some of the Strider team also worked on Run Saber. Rockin' Kats was released as a Play Choice game, so I included it :-)
What is being said at the beginning of the video? "Welcome, Don Lovers"? Where is this from?
Welcome STUN Runner, taken from the Atari Lynx port of the superb arcade game.
@@TheLairdsLair Oh, ha-ha. Thanks so much for answering. I was wondering! Love your videos BTW!
I really wish Sega would make a Saturn mini!
Don't we all!
This console has a lot to offer, it's a shame Sega made so many mistakes at the time and prevented it from being successful. I hope I will be able to play some of these games some day. The Saturn is expensive and I don't collect disc-based consoles, and on top of that I hear the emulation isn't great yet
For me the Amiga 1200 was more than a gaming console , I did game quite a bit of gaming but I also used apps like Amos Pro,Deluxe paint and Photogenics . Also there was a funb animation app that was freeware called Aegis Animator which I think was ahead of its time.
Another great vid.
Brilliant list. The Mega Drive is a worthy winner!
i am not sure what version is the best either mega cd or gba the gba one has more bonus content but the sound doesn't sound bad but the gba can do much better i am not sure why some gba games have that 8bit like sound. maybe its to save memory or cpu time i don't know .the mega cd version looks and sound better but has no bonus content. i also actually own a copy of the gba version and i really like playing it .the super Nintendo version is meh they have some cut content but the game play is fine but could be better. the j2me version is not great playable but choppy and it has bad sound. i never played this version but i noticed some other j2me games i played in the 2000s struggled with in game music on my old phone and you had the option to turn it off for better frame rates. it was quite a strange way to make games because the phones all had different specs so you had to use java and that is not very efficient but on modern systems this doesn't really matter. but in this era you really had to make compromises if you want to game to be compatible with most of the popular phones of the time .technically most of those phones were way more powerful than the other systems on here but they couldn't take advantage of the power .
The Mega CD one does have bonus content, it has the whole new survival mode that I looked at in more detail in my Mega CD exclusives video.
I like that part when it turns out that prototype sega CD’s with it’s cd drive werent designed with data seeking games in mind as it turns out those CD drives were originally only ment for digital audio signals, I also do like that part where you explain that the sega CD could do both sprite scaling and background scaling trough hardware and all atonce, as opposed to the snes wich could only scale 1 background at low resolution and it cannot do sprite scaling at all, and with that said evemtroygh i hate to say it but i have to admit as a snes fan that the snes is sadly not the best 2D system, so sega was really ahead for it’s time with the sega CD.
Strange top 20 but hey ho.
That's what people voted for, doesn't seem strange to me at all.
Well this is the top 20 of all time
*great video sir! Street Fighter Zero 3 and Radiant SilverGun are the most expensive games in the world now!* 💡
9:40 Any time I hear 'Treasure' in the context of video games, it's automatically replaced by Lady Decade singing it.
I'm sorry!
lol No way is the Original sonic better than Earthworm Jim xD
Thank you sir great job
