- Today we'll review a fresh batch of mountain bike products. I only reviewed the shoes and fitness tracker thoroughly and long term, so otherwise what you see in this video IS the testing and my real first impression.

According to some commenters, the new version of Quadlock works with wireless charging. I’ll need to test that out! Their cases have been great for me in the past.
I’ve been using quad lock since the iPhone 8. I’ve never had any issues with it not charging wirelessly. I’ve changed my phone every night for years. Plus I like how I can use the circle to center it when I’m using the phone 1 handed. I’m on the 13 pro max, so it’s a chonker.
I like the sp connect cases and mounts the most
Strava is not really that useful for mountain bikers. I use it for road rides to track my estimated calories burned, estimated power output, estimated times. A free way to track metrics, if you care about improving your performance. I don't want to spend money on a power meter nor a "health" watch, and i don't even have a strava subscription.
Check out the rokform case. And you should do a drop test on the case
I have the quadlock because it comes with the option for a universal mount and can easily be removed and attached with just one hand.
The fidlock and mous cases looked like you'd need two hands to remove them. Is that the case?
Quadlock also comes with cases for way more phones than mous does (mous seems to only produce iPhone cases).
In 2011 Adidas bought Five Ten. In 2017 they rolled Five Ten into the Adidas Outdoor Brand. In 2018 Ride Concepts was formed. From the RC "about us" page, they're the outcasts that Adidas thought they could do without. That's why RC shoes address almost every shortcoming of Five Ten.
I love that spiteful company move
Because of this, I will buy RC shoes over five ten
That’s cool I bought a pair of RCs just because they seemed comparable and were cheaper. Couldn’t be happier
I had a pair and sent them back because they ripped immediately. My five tens haven't.
There is a very similar thing happening with five ten climbing shoes (where they started out). They dumped a load of their models and the new ones are getting some flak and a group of the old designers have jumped ship to set up Unparallel shoes.
Socks and sandals. Seth has achieved full Dad Mode.
Seriously though, I use the Fidlock phone case and I'm happy to see it here. Good video, as always.

Knowledge of the glory of god's socks and sandals?
@@praisejesusrepentorlikewis6218 I hate it when the lord water covers my socks and sandals
You say Dad Mode, I say God Mode. Have you ever worn socks with sandals? It's great. Your feet can breathe but they don't get filthy.
Mous phone cases are insanely protective, the fidlock doesn't seem to offer much in terms of protection. Mouse primarily does phone cases, so they know about protection. Good choice Seth 👍
On a second note I have a mous case currently, and it's been great. I dont have the bike mount case since apparently they don't do that for Samsung yet🤷♂️, but I've dropped my phone an absolute ton since I got the regular case over a year ago, and my phone is as good as new.
I agree

I love my mous case and wallet. The gform like stuff inside seems to work well.
Seth just wanted to say thanks for getting me into mountain biking❤
Me too man, me too❤

iPhones have moving lenses in their cameras for the stabilization. Any of these 2 phone mounts can break that mechanism in a rock garden or jumping. I know because it happened to me. Keep your phone in a pocket on you, where your body provides it with better suspension. If you want Trailforks maps and/or ride recording on your handlebar - Garmin Edge is the robust way to go.
Unfortunately not many know that iphones aint shockproof.
Sad so many people learn this the hard way.
I trashed several phone cameras this way. It's worth it to use a dedicated bike computer that's ruggedized and designed to take the hits.
Quad lock makes a stability thing that works really well but pricy tho
@@thomasfjen most phones still don't have any moving parts, so they are pretty much completely fine to use with these mounts.
But I agree that they should should add a disclaimer, given that this is a problem on some (expensive) phones.
This. OIS, and gyro in the phone are being rattled to hell and back. Why people stick $1000 phones on bikes is beyond me. You think your phone is fine, but it isnt. Same goes with dropping it. It may look fine, but trust me you are damaging it's internals. Like it's such a waste of fucking money holy shit just get the right tool for the right job.
I'll be honest, the oura ring intrigued me. I also never wore any fitness trackers and this really seemed like a good option... until I saw it costs $400 plus a monthly fee after the initial period. Screw that. So much not worth it.
Mu thoughts exactly :-)
That's twice the price of my GPS watch lol
Monthly fee is totally out of the question. I don't buy a house AND pay rent for it.
Right? Buying something but not owning it because you still have to pay for it after paying for it? Subscription models mean you dont own your things.
Im glad NJ straight up declared BMWs subscription model illegal
I cannot describe how proud i am at how far Seth has become through all these years thanks for being my inspiration on mountain biking

Seth made me learn a bunch of things on bikes and gave me a bunch of building techniques he is one of the best content creators 🙂

I've been using an oura ring for the past few months, MAKE SURE YOU NEVER LET IT GET LOW ON BATTERY I lost a lot of the batter life when I got stuck without its charger for a week or 2 it only lasts like 4-5 days now.
Lithium batteries should never go below 30% for the best longevity.
@@bikeislife8405 truth
$300 usd for that? I'd be heated. Warranty claim that pos
@@acmhfmggru that is simply not true. Lithium batteries can be permanently damaged if left depleted. Similar case if left fully charged over time, the battery will start to degrade over time. This is why ALL batteries are required to be stored between 30-40% by manufacturers. Your argument of "almost nothing" is an artificial limit set by said engineers. Lithium is NOT at that point just yet for the common consumer.
@@acmhfmggru I have had hundreds of lithium batteries through the years via R/C planes/trucks. Trust me, as someone who's invested thousands on lithium I know what kills them and what keeps them going.
My favorite channel on CZcams! In a negative world that complains about everything, Seth is always upbeat and makes my day better
@bofooit gojo uhhhh?????
Thx for the fidlock case Tipp. Mine came today. Loving it.
Seth has thought me a ton about mountain biking and he is just a great person. He has some of the best mtb content 😀😃
Love you Seth
The STFU chain quieter is a really really awesome product. I’ve been running it for a few months now(6-7) and absolutely love it. One thing that I will add though is that the zip ties that come with it are really flimsy and frail. You can fix this by just adding some of your own.
I’ve been running one on my Nukeproof Mega and I didn’t realise how much noise I was getting from the chain until I installed it. Now all I hear is the freehub buzzing and the sound of tyres in the dirt 😀
Wrap an inner tube on the chainstay, never hear my chain.
Absolutely one of my favourite youtubers. Such a genuine guy making such good videos
i have been on a two year mtb break because of a move... thanks seth for keeping me interested and excited to ride again!
I've been using the STFU for more than 6 months and I can also call it a win. Love my bike silent. I'm waiting my MOUS case to be delivered. Danny Mcskill sold me one those badboys.
It is always a great day when Seth uploads keep up the good work!
Great review video! You always keep us entertained no matter what is happening.
Just got back into mtb riding after giving it a break due to an injury, and I can't stop watching your videos. Your content is informative, educational, interesting, and funny. Thank you for what you do.
The chain guide is an old trick using zip ties and bottle caps or pvc. Plus someone’s been selling the same thing for years 3D printed on Amazon for like $10.
What’s it called?
Yes

These reviews are great keep up the good work Seth!😄😁
Product reviews put you on the map.....so so happy to see them again.
Great video! Careful with the sleep tracking though. It’s hard for those to be really accurate and there’s studies where if people are told they got bad sleep they’ll feel like it even if they got great sleep🤙
I won a Fitbit on a contest and I've been using it to monitor sleep as well. But man, that ring? It's the same thing minus the screen, it's unbelievable how small it is. I think I'd trade my fitbit for that ring, since I seldom use the fitbit's screen.
Thanks for another great video Seth
Seth love your videos soo much. Cause of you Inspired me to do mountain biking ❤
Thanks for all you do Seth
I don’t ride, at all. But I really like these videos for some reason. Like the host, like the fun product reviews. It’s all well shot and interesting to watch. Keep up the good work.
FiveTen was bought by Adidas a couple of years ago and a lot of quality issue things seemed to pop up. I noticed it the most in rock climbing shoes but just recently got a new pair of free rider pros and agree they feel different than they used to.
I switched from Freeriders to RC Livewires and I'm happy with them. Better built, stiffer sole, faster drying, and grip is nearly the same. All for the same price. Oh and lace holders too.
@@plmn93 Do the RC's run true to size?
@@timharker7447 My size 13 fit the same as 510 Freeriders did. About the same as my running shoes, which are about a size larger than my dress shoes.
I just got (back) into MTB and your channel is simply AMAZING! Keep up the great work! Bought the Fidlock bottle for my new bike because I saw you fiddle - no pun intended - with it in this video!
finally back to the basics. loved the first videos like this :)
I’ve used a Mous case on my iPhones for the last 5 years, they are by far the most durable case I’ve ever had. The new ones support magnetic mounts, so that’s what I use in the car.
However, I’d need to buy a new case to be able to use it with my bike, I think that’s a backwards step. I won’t be replacing my case until I get an new phone with a different shape, as this case was £60!
That fidlock looks pretty nicely stable. I'd love to see it made into a motorcycle stem or bar mount
I’ve found two fid lock bottles on our local trails in just the last three months… not sure if that confirms your “stable” hypothesis or not
Cable buddies are sweet! I had my cables bound by electrical tape but it seemed to always start peeling off sooner or later and I had to cut and re-apply it whenever I wanted to swap cable housing/brake hoses. Now everything is tidy and it’s super easy to take them off for maintenance if needed. Very nifty little product 👍🏻
Great vids love watching your vids after school
Quadlock DOES have mounts that work with wireless charging. I use one in my car, along with a wireless charging adapter for my phone that didn't come with wireless charging, and they work great.
I don't think you would want to use one of those on your bike though, that would mean you'd have to strap a battery to your bike frame and wire it to the mount. I doubt the wireless charging piece is even compatible with the bike mount
Yes, also my Samsung wireless charger still works with a Quadlock case on my S10.
Not gonna lie, I'm strangely excited about the Cable Buddies. Just ordered a set!
Amazing content as always!
I’m so happy to get back to these I can’t believe it’s been a year since the last one
Seth, I had an awesome experience yesterday while going for a ride to my nearest park! I saw a kid my age riding in the same direction and said hi and introduced myself and we ended up biking together for an hour or two and exchanged Instagram's! Loving the cycling community :D
The only issue I have with that phone mount is that if your bike is upside down your phone will be the first thing to get crushed by your 30 pound bicycle.
Couple things… first, I haven’t watched one of your videos in over a year, thanks CZcams algorithm. Dude you have perfected your style. I just watched several videos and you make even menial tasks really entertaining. Second, I’m going to get one of those rings you got… I get terrible sleep and have been looking for something that will give me some data that I can do something with. Congrats on all your success!
That rubber chain guide limiter thing looks cool. I thought I was clever putting thin crafting foam tape on a few key places as I use that stuff on everything, but that takes it even farther like a forcefield for your chain.
Quad lock will work with a wireless charger, at least for my Pixel! I use it on my bike (normal mount) and my motorcycle with their wireless charger. I use a regular cheap wireless charger on my desk. I like the case of the Fidlock a lot though, looks a lot sleaker.
I was going to say the same thing. I have a Samsung S22 with no issues.
Seth I strongly recommend watching some of the test videos that mouse has done with their cases. Danny tested it on his trials bike and landed on it from like 10 feet up and it didn’t do a thing to the phone.
Really nice reviews Seth! :) I liked the RC shoes:)
Just purchased a Mous Mount because of this video! Thanks Seth!! 🤘🚲
Disclaimer: Mounting a phone to your MTB will ruin your camera optics over time.
As far as I know, that's just on motorcycles due to long rides and the vibration, that's why they have a rubber mount to dampen the vibration on the motorcycle mount. MTB should be fine
Only if you have optical image stabilisation if it's just digital stabilisation then it's fine
Upvote! Had that fixed a few Weeks ago…
I'd be interested to see how well the Fidlock performs when the suctiony part gets wet or dusty. Doesn't seem like it would be an issue with the Maus one because the clips are what hold it in.
I've been happy with my switch from Freeriders to Livewires. Better built, stiffer sole, lace holders, faster drying, nearly the same grip and at the same price. My only gripe is that nobody sells them locally.
I just got a pair of ride concepts for new biking shoes this year and they’re by far my favorite so far.
The markup on that ring must be so insane they're like $300 to $400 dollar for a few dollars worth of components.
Yeah might as well just buy a decent Garmin for that price
and on top of that, they want a monthly subscription fee too. It really is crazy and completely not worth it.
Never buy these phone cases for mountainbiking if you dont wanna wreck the cameras OIS.
could you elaborate on that? does the vibration destroy something?
I built a manual trainer as a lockdown project, and i loved it !
I was using it to do some small 5 mins training, just put a helmet on and lift that front wheel. I could've just done in the street (well not during lockdown but still), but that would've meant fully gearing up ... The manual trainer was a good way to store my bike, and have some fun while improving manual/balance skills, so i wouldn't say there's useless
thankks seth for these honest review
I didn't even know that fidlock made a big bottle! Thanks seth for showing all this cool stuff, I love videos like this!
Life lessoned learned. Always listen to Eric
Amazing vids Keep up the hard work!!
The Peak Design case and mount is by far my favorite system. Tried them all
Gotta love these videos.
thanks for making me happy sir ber. avid fan from philippines
The ride concepts shoes are great. I have a pair of the Livewire shoes they make and love them. Tons of grip, but better cushion in the sole and a more robust toe box and upper compared to regular 5 10 freeriders.
I got a Mous ad before the video. I personally use the case and yes, it is everything that it advertises. Theeeee best case for your phone, I highly recommend
Love the reviews and the jersey
I have Ride Concepts Hellion Elites, I love them, they are comfortable, stick solidly on platforms, are like armor for your feet, and look super dope- slick and understated in the colors I got, which I don’t actually think are available anymore, but they rock.
Heck yeah my favorite series!
Awesome stuff Seth 🤘🔥 STFU.s are great 👍
Hey Seth! Love the videos!
Really like these videos trying new bike accessories, don't care how crazy they may seem 😂 Great video!
I laughed when you showed the cable buddies. A couple weeks ago, I noticed a similar cable clip on a Santa Cruz. Went looking and found them on aliexpress as ganopper clips. Now there is another options. Nice!
Fantastic video again !! We love you mr seth keep going like this support from me !!!!
Got some RC shoes. Thanks for the videos. Love all you do.
I personally stand by mous as a regular phone case, I’ve used it for 4 years on different phones and it’s just amazing! Absolutely great phone protection!
love my ride concepts slides for pre/post ride and on my gravel bike on occassion too lol
This is an amazing video!
I love the phone caseee!!! 🥲
does the king himself reply, just got to add, love berm peak and how it is going. keep it up!
For holding cables neat and tidy, you still can't beat plain old spiral wrap. Cheap, easy to install, and can be removeable for maintenance.
Thanks Seth... I'm ordering the cable clips right now.
I never cared for the 510 shoes so I was running vans skate shoes until I came across the ride concepts. They are my favorite shoe now. Not just for mountain biking.
Thanks for letting me ride with you today. See ya next time.
Using the SKS Compit system myself... It's quadlock style but you can get a battery for it that wirelessly charges your phone when it's attached. They offer multiple mounting options, and they also sell a protective water resistant case if you want more protection for your phone than the SKS case offers.
P.S. May we all be so fortunate to own enough property to build a trail system. Until then, maybe some people actually do have a need for indoor training tools.
Amazing how much better Fidlock is than everyone else in their category. Love my water bottle and their chin strap on my TLD helmet is a game changer. So simple, so perfect.
You need to check out the sp connect phone case and holder. Incredibly polivalent, has mounts for everything, a very low profile case, and the top cap mount is absolutely minimal
We got Phone mounts from SP Connect in our shop.
They come in Bundles with cases and Rain Protection. They also have a huge ammount of other stuff for all kind of different using.
If you ask me SP Connect ist the Best Phone holder out there and they are really easy to use and long living.
I love your Videos, Greetings from Germany 😊🤘🏻
+1 for fidlock - i've had one of their water bottles for a couple years - solid product 100%!
thanks for getting me into mountain biking
Good stuff. Thx Seth!
Five Ten changed because they got bought by Adidas which is why Ride Concepts are so popular now, also the Mous bike system was developed with Danny Macaskill and Greg Minnar testing the products which is why they work so well.
The Adidas purchase also affected Five Ten climbing shoes. There is a newer company called Unparallel that was made up from a bunch of the ex-Five Ten employees who make shoes like they were before the purchase.
i bought a mous phone case for the years i had it my phone did not even have a scratch on. it 10/10 protection.
The Fidlock bottle is a massive recommend! Great piece of kit.
I was getting so scared i thought you left but your back i love you so much
You should really take a look at the peak design bike mount. By far the best option out there with all metal construction, flat case, magnetic and super strong mechanical mount, and a whole ecosystem of other mounts. definitely more expensive than the competition, but i love mine!
Magnet and suction cup combo on phone case 👍
Hey seth!!! Love you videos!
This video reminds me those stereo system tutorials you did, lmao. Not sure why. Perfect music choice for the slides, lol.
In the 38 years I’ve been mtn biking I’ve only gone up one time and forgotten something, and it was my shoes. I had switched from clip-ins to flats a couple seasons earlier so I had that going for me, but all I had was my Keen sandals which surprisingly work great. Halfway through the ride I mentioned to my son that I can’t believe how good they were working, which he said yeah you haven’t been bitching about it yet. I had just put a new set of RaceFace Atlas pedals on and if you know those pedals, I was expecting to go home with bloodied shins and calves
Those rc slides are so cool! I met a ride concept rep at my local bike shop and he gave me a t shirt so that was cool. Hopefully they get those I’ll wear them riding my 29” bmx.
That MOUS is also conveniant if you ride with the EDM-tool. Definatly checking that one out, man. Thanks! 🤟
