I was out on the Murder Glide 2 weeks back, and I stopped at one of the local Harley shops in the Houston area. They were having a huge charity event with hundreds of bikes. As I was talking with one of the both managers, I started talking about Forgotten Angels. I channeled my inner Shadetree, and rambled off the entire mantra by memory. I may not have purchased a raffle yet, but I did in fact spread the word.

Buddy of mine has a sliverwing that he made into a bobber. Stripped it bare and took all the touring stuff off of it, thing is sick and is deceptively quick. Those bikes are definitely hampered by all the touring gear, covers, and fairings.

I remember once I'd just replaced the tyre, chain and sprockets on my xj600 and I'd got 1/4mile down the road on a 125 mile ride and realised I hadn't tightened the rear wheel. Ever since then the anxiety of "have I put this thing back together properly" has been very real

Hey Josh - don't know if that carb has the bits in the right places, but a very popular carb mod for KLR650s is to drill out the brass plug over the air/fuel mix screw, and replace it with a long thumbscrew that you can adjust without any tools. If you're going to do the Trans-America trail and find yourself at any significant altitude you might want to have the ability to dial in a better mix to keep yourself going.

I have to hit a mile of loose sugar sand to leave or come back to my property, with sportbike tires, so I know alot about a V-twin in dirt. And let me tell you, there is a reason that a common crank pin Harley Davidsons win flat track races, or anything where you need traction when you twist the throttle, yes even drag racing. Wana drift your bike.. try it on a Harley Davidson, you will be plesantly surprised.

Adding a steering dampener was probably the best thing I did to my dirtbike. Back in the hare scramble days

Build and enclosure for that air compressor and it will be much quieter. No compressor is quiet. I had two of the 250 Gal. compressor in my shop in a back room and you could tell when they kicked on even when you were in the parking lot. Be safe, have fun.

Yes I agree the bike looks great with the single dial I like lot and with the footpegs being so high it will make it harder to stand up on the pegs from the sitting position 😀 👍🏾

If you want a quiet air compressor you gotta spend the dough and get a rotary. If you want to know more go watch Obsessed Garage

Go to Home Depot buy some brass washers that just fit over your carb needle. Add a shim under the needle one at a time until the stumble goes away. Another thing to consider is after you go on your dirt ride and you service Old Dirty Bastard you might consider boring the stock cylinders and adding a set of 1200 pistons for a little torque.

Get you some double take mirrors, that way if you crash, all you gotta do it bend them back. Not budget by any means because they're expensive but has definately saved me a few bucks when I ate it in the dirt a few times.
