Cool video but jebus, no wonder Sportster guys are always “ week away” from doing this upgrade! What a pain in the ass! Makes you question why you would buy the 883 in the first place.
It’s cheaper than buying a 1200 and doing the same thing. Putting an aftermarket 1275 on an 883 gets you more power than a stock 1200, so if you want that power, buy the smaller bike and then get the bigger kit. Some people also like projects.

So you had to remove the cylinder because you forgot the gasket? did you re use the piston pin circlip? They are one use only, once you have pried it out of the piston you should never re use it.
okay. soo so far only thing i think you did wrong, and it is totally referenced in the hammer vids, its use your fingers to get the c-clip into position, then use a plastic poker like the end of a ball point pen to push the clip in till it seats (without the ball point out) BECAUSE hammer video says that it could scratch the clip if you use metal which in turn can cause a stress fracture later on down the road and it will lead to failure
you didnt need to have the juggs in place while you were doing the rings and pistons. you should have done the rings on the bench, install the end clip, lube the pin, then take it over to the motorcycle, and attach to conrods, install C clip. then install the post,/ rpf
@@caseyjones6316 ohh yeah, the only problem then is attaching it to the conrod. if the engine is out of the bike and disassembled. then I guess that helps but in this instance, they didn't need to have the jugs there. at the bench put rings, and first clip. then take over to the bike and attach to the con rod. by putting the lubed pin through and the final circlip. check its free to move no binding then get the cylinder/jug and put it into that :) Baby laughing while getting shotsBaby laughing while getting shots
I always wondered why no one hasn't put the 1340cc Big Evo on a Sportster... I guess the frame restricts the size plus the 1340cc never made much power even compared to a modern EVO. THAT IS A LOT OF WORK!

So you had to remove the cylinder because you forgot the gasket? did you re use the piston pin circlip? They are one use only, once you have pried it out of the piston you should never re use it.
great video. it would be funnier if the falafel eating scene were finished at the same time with the sportster done.
okay. soo so far only thing i think you did wrong, and it is totally referenced in the hammer vids, its use your fingers to get the c-clip into position, then use a plastic poker like the end of a ball point pen to push the clip in till it seats (without the ball point out) BECAUSE hammer video says that it could scratch the clip if you use metal which in turn can cause a stress fracture later on down the road and it will lead to failure
That 100hp is at the wheel
Super cool build!!
you didnt need to have the juggs in place while you were doing the rings and pistons.
you should have done the rings on the bench, install the end clip, lube the pin, then take it over to the motorcycle, and attach to conrods, install C clip. then install the post,/ rpf
Hammer pre installs them in the jugs before shipping them to you friend
@@caseyjones6316 ohh yeah, the only problem then is attaching it to the conrod. if the engine is out of the bike and disassembled. then I guess that helps
but in this instance, they didn't need to have the jugs there.
at the bench put rings, and first clip.
then take over to the bike and attach to the con rod. by putting the lubed pin through and the final circlip. check its free to move no binding
then get the cylinder/jug and put it into that

All that steel good for Rockform vs aluminum
You guys should cop a hex key socket set and some flex head ratchets or wobble extensions. Totally change the game for this kind of thing
I would run conventional to seat the rings, to each their own
this is hands on!.. jebus crojst! it would have been fun if you guys just forget about the gasket all the way until start up :p
Turning more gas into more noise, and this time with added vibrations!
I always wondered why no one hasn't put the 1340cc Big Evo on a Sportster... I guess the frame restricts the size plus the 1340cc never made much power even compared to a modern EVO. THAT IS A LOT OF WORK!
I believe the “big twin” evo is a very different beast
Harley Davidson: What a great motorcycle, almost 100hp at the crank from only 1200cc. We did a great engineering job.
Every other manufacturer: Yes
Big fan here! Been watching all your stuff! Thank you for all your time and effort.
Y'all, I really want to see a performance video after this thing is broken in. So whoever wins it and breaks it in, I wanna see it open up next to a stock 1200.
Can you make this happen?
Oh. And why didn't you go with the 110 or 120 HP kit? IMO, the 110 HP kit was the bang for buck.
Awesome 👍.
What about air filter, brakes?
Hi nice video, could I see the start engine? Thanks guys
First things first! Make Yam jealous with the manbun!
This was a very interesting video to me. Well done guys looking forward to the next!
Favorite part is the exhaust? I’ll take that hammer kit with stock exhaust... I’d say doubling the ho is my favorite part.
These guys will be rich and famous one day!
10:33 "...the difference in piston sizes; it's not *that* much more..."
- just remember, a standard can of beer is 355cc and a standard bottle is 341cc. You're adding half a can of beer to each cylinder here lol
Me at 12 yo wondering why it’s taking them so long to take the heads off
Big parts GOOD! Small figgity parts ARGH!
@@exexpat11 That's what she said
I don’t really ever get anxious about anything....this gave me anxiety 🤣. Holy $H!T that’s a lot of work
Have you guys got into a rebuild like this before? Or do you kinda just follow suit and learn as you go? I’m asking because I want to do the 1275 kit on my 1200 and it’s a little overwhelming. I am mechanically inclined to a certain point.
wicked guitar solo while yammie eats is🔥
I had a lot of fun watching this vid. Thanks Yammie!
8:50 ever wonder what a 12pt socket is for? Harleys. Thats pretty much it nowadays.
piece of cake
Those Texan Hats lmao
Stetsons? It's a good look
Are you guys gonna update the brakes at all?
Man, I'm a sportster owner myself. Sitting here, watching and giggling. This is gonna be a death trap 😂🤣
Not to shit on HD, but i feel like it's gonna be WAY less of a death trap than it was stock lmao
@@davidleroth8644 HAHAHAHA, maybe true dude 🤣😂
Does an old GSXR 750 front end still bolt up? 😉 Used to be the cheapest rout to real breaks
@@adamlanglois563 Seen some Sportsters with that mod 😂 But I'm more into bobbers.
I gotta have good brakes, man.
He's done it, Yam has completed the sportster bro's quest!!!
Six speed shirt for a five speed bike.
YESSSS!!! This was awesome!! More of this PLEASSSSEE!!!!
13:25 was that cut just for the clap
Did they make a stage 4 kit for the Super Duke 1290r, No! Plenty of power from the factory!!
Badass can't wait to see it run against some of the other bikes
Which session of OCC is this episode? Snr didn't yell at anyone, weird 😐
Imo. The 883 looks the best always.. everytime I walk into any dealer the best looking bike is the 883 … and that sux
Thx guys. This will be Good.
Be ready to replace your back tire OFTEN!🤣🤣🤣🤘🏻ride on!
