In House of the Dragon season 2, episode 5, we’ll see King Aegon Targaryen critically hurt in a scene that shows his skin peeling off as they remove his armor. We will see Aemond Targaryen not being regretful about what he’s done to Aegon on purpose and being confronted by his sister Helaena about it in the Iron Throne room, who asks him, "Was it worth the price?" In season 2, episode 5 of the Game of Thrones prequel series, House of the Dragon, we will also see Alicent Hightower starting to figure out that Aemond attacked Aegon intentionally. Aemond will be the first to say they need a regent to rule in the King’s stead as Aegon is recovering. Alicent will suggest herself, but Criston Cole agrees Aemond should be Prince Regent and Protector of the Realm instead. We learn about Sunfyre the dragon’s fate. Daemon Targaryen is going to keep having strange dreams and hallucinations at Harrenhal, this time seeing Queen Aemma, Rhaenyra’s mother, who is going to tell him, "You were made to wear a crown." Daemon will start telling people to call him King instead of "Your Grace." Rhaenyra Targaryen and Jacaerys will start looking for Targaryen bastards to claim dragons (some of which include the dragons Vermithor and Silverwing). Jacaerys will visit House Frey. Rhaena Targaryen will arrive at the Eyrie. Mysaria will orchestrate a smallfolk riot in King’s Landing, and Aemond Targaryen will seal off King’s Landing, and more!

I think they are doing that only to take attention off of Aegon who is also carried through Kings Landing so people don’t actually see him in such bad state, instead they rather have a huge parade with Dragon head, having all the attention on them and telling people Aegon killed it himself

Episode 4 was an emotional rollercoaster. While I enjoyed the battle scene, I was deeply saddened by the deaths of these two major characters, Rhaenys and Meleys. What a blow for Team Black. I was also sad about Sunfyre getting beaten over and over again

Fact is the show did Aemond dirty. In the book he is so loyal to Aegon that Aegon planned to build him a huge golden statue (taller than the Titan of Braavos), while on the show Aemond tries to kill Aegon. Doesn’t even make sense, why Aemond just doesn’t finish him off while Aegon is recovering. The show also did Sunfyre dragon dirty by showing him to us for a full 10 seconds before he gets messed up. The most beautiful dragon in recorded history and one of the most important dragons in the story… and we saw him for half a minute at his peak..
When they were dragging Meley's head on the streets of Kingslanding while a Kingsguard shouts "Slain by Aegon the king!", it was Aemond's plan all along. He knows word travels and it will get to Rhaenyra soon, to send fear.

Rhaenyra is just too dumb to know about having scouts report to her. She didn't care about knowing Cole's movements, that Vhagar had left Kings Landing, and now that Sunfyre is alive and a sitting target for any Black Dragon to go and finish him off.
Even mentally challenged Helaena knows how messed up Aemond’s actions are. How the council supports Aemond as a new King while knowing he tried to kill the actual King. Probably thats why Aemond will leave to Riverlands to hunt Daemon when Aegon wakes up and is able to tell Aemond he Remembers what happened and knows he tried to kill him

Sunfyre is still surviving after those attacks and fall, he managed to save aegon during the fall.
Parading Meleys' head in the streets of King's Landing is diabolical but I guess it makes sense. I believe the Green’s want to get all the attention away from Aegon as they are also bringing him into the city. So instead of everyone witnessing Aegon near to his death, they just put all the attention to Criston and Gwayne as they parade dragon’s head through the city while Aegon is quitely brought into the Red Keep. So maybe it was a strategic decision

I can’t accept the fact they basically did everything to tell Sunfyre can’t survive and then go back and make it come alive again.

Aemond is way too smart to think they have a better chance of winning the war by the elimination of 1 out of their 4 dragons/riders…..that is beyond foolish and short sighted….win the war first then worry about succession planning. Limiting themselves to basically 2 dragon riders due to Helaenas grieving isn’t a good formula especially being Daeron has a very young dragon.
Rhaenyra's argument with the council there sounds like a failed gotcha moment. Yes there was no all out war but some of them especially corlys are far more well versed and experienced with conflicts and battle.

also, i would add that aemond is using the witch to poison/drug daemon. when he saw himself with an eye patch, it was aemond visiting the harenhall to further order the stewart of harenhall to take hold on daemon to separate him and rhaenerys to weaken the rebellion. but my idea to include water dragons to trap the greens, i think is perfect for this situation as this time, everyone is depending much in the sea for trade and travel.

The dragons in this show are like puppies in love with their owners. They just want them to love them and be satisfied with them.
