Glad to see new faces on internet. The consistency in case length is critical for crimp. Neck tension based on expander plug. Too small of expander allows for misalignment of bullets and affects long range accuracy. I found that minimum case size for seating gives most accurate bullet seating alignment. All dies not created equal. QUALITY Dies from 50 years ago for straight wall were designed with that method. I use RCBS 9mm dies from 1972 to load .350 Legend more accurately than current dies. I have several different manufacturers
examples. Your general content is helpful for understanding the recoil effect on loaded rounds crimped and not crimped. Taper crimping has degrees of crimp. Check with calipers, pin gauges or small hole gages for amount of crimp. Appreciate this platform to humbly share from measured and validated experience with bullet retention in reloaded cases. 🦅

I'm still going through more load developement and testing but so far no major negative with crimping in my 338 lapua. It appears that the rifle likes either a light/no crimp or a heavy crimp. But not a medium crimp. Went from a 1 moa group heavy crimp to about 4 moa medium crimp. Will be doing more testing to check. As a control group I do compare them to none crimped as well that gets about 1 moa.

Crimp hard recoiling or lever rifles. All the rest are your choice

Yeah, except handguns have to crimp most pistol cartridges
