2009 Buick Enclave No start / No crank Solved

  • This is Video is solving the my wife's 2009 Buick Enclave No start or no cranking. Symptoms were we had all power going to all accessories and lights but the engine would not turn over or crank when key was in the run position. Problem would happened most often when cold outside and as the Relay began to worsen it would take more time to get it to actually crank during any weather or temps, This should also be the same fix for 2008-current Buick enclaves, GMC Acadia, Chevy Traverse and even the Saturn Outlook. Cranking relay Part # is 1350-0114 and ignition relay part # is 1350-0113 those are AC Delco or GM Denso part numbers and they are the most current ones. I prefer going to my local Buick dealership over part stores as I'm more guaranteed to head home with the correct factory part. Hope this helps. Please leave a comment and a like! Thanks for watching.

      @@juancaballero8107 so being raised by a car guy (my dad) he taught me you always start with the cheapest fixes 1st. I am pretty familiar with how cars work and know that it takes multiple things to make one thing work properly, so with this specific issue I knew my battery was good, starters never just go out without being slow or burning up, so it had to be a fuse or relay. This answer might not help but hopefully it does LoL

The horn and crank relays are the same, swapped the two around and it started right up. Replaced multiple relays for short term fixes. The relays were fine though. The issue was the fuse box not being securely mounted. It is secured by two bolts going through the relay box. They would not tighten securely, creating intermittent starting. Back the bolts out some, slide in a slip lock washer or piece of curved wire under the bolt heads, and tighten.

I get a phone call later that she had to do it 2 times to start. Damn! What do you suggest? Looking to try the least expensive route before giving up to take it to the dealership. But 1st maybe give it a couple days of driving before running and buying anything else and just see if it works it out. And let me know, but if anything move onto the ignition relay next. Part number 1350-0113 ignition relay.

      Brett Battan Thanks again for your reply! Okay, I did an experiment by waiting at least 5 seconds when I’m at the “accessory” part of the key lock then, I start the car. It works. Prior to my very first try after installing the new relay, I didn’t count 5 seconds. I simply turned the key quickly. So, my wife took the car out for errands. She made multiple stops to do some shopping. She counted for 5 seconds then attempted to start the car. So far, it has started the first time at each location of her stops. I’m hoping this is the “fix”. I’ll continue this routine. I’ll update like a month from now to all who are interested. Thank you again man!!!

    For months!!! I delt with this problem. It went from a weak start up, to over time a very slow and diminishing start up to a point where the car wouldn't start at all sometimes. I'm talking being stranded for hours, and resorting to Superstition rituals of turning the key a certain amount of times to start it. I even unplug the battery to reset everything a few times and now I know it was only by coincidence that'd seem to would work on rare occasions. Kept getting "Full Pump control circuit code" I flirted with replacing the fuel pump, replacing the starter and literally found no other help online and even my mechanic was lost on what was going on. Finally!! I googled " Buick Enclave starts when it wants" end quote. And your video popped up first. Did exactly what you said and BOOM! Car starts up fine now. Bro, I was fixing to give up on this car. Brett you saved me so much time and unnecessary stress! Simple can't thank you enough. I don't give a f*ck that I don't follow car content on YT.. 2011 buick enclave, I was driving and all of a sudden couldn't accelerate, couldn't turn the wheel, was able to turn it just enough to get into the median and call a tow truck to tow me home. When I try to crank it all the lights turn off like yours did in the video. Tried jumping it off, no success, it doesn't make any noise at all when I try to start it. Could this be the same thing? When everything stopped working when I was driving, the stabilitrak light came on and said it's off, now it says low fuel level, even though I put in gas before all this happened today. But still won't crank and no noise whatsoever when I try to crank it.

    • @brettbeez
      @brettbeez  Před 4 lety

      You might have a bad Body control module but try these relays 1st especially the ignition relay (the one I did not replace) . The reason you couldn't turn the wheels is because with the engine dead there's no power steering to assist you turning the wheels. The crank relay would only prevent you from starting it I don't believe it would cause it to shut off in the middle of driving, But the ignition relay could cause that I would assume no signal is being sent to the coils. Stabiltrak most likely came on because of the power failure just warning you. Try changing them both. As it would be about a $35 fix to buy both relays. Go to the dealer to get them.

He told me to hold a screwdriver and get someone in the car to turn the key like if they are trying to crank the car...he then said to lightly tap the metal fins that component has, and if it turns right on it's the ECM. It cost me $387 through Advanced Auto cause they have to buy it through a dealer so that they can program the new ECM to your Enclave after you give them your VIN Number. Make sure you take off the old one or they will charge you a $70 core charge. I hope this works for you if this is the situation.
