I couldn't say if this plastic one is worse than metal, but I've had Gardena hoses for 30 years and the plastic hose fittings still work perfectly, despite being outdoors all year and freezing up every winter. It's more than I'd expect of most metal tools of similiar purpose in these days. I bought a reel mower few years ago and the plastic parts are in top condition but the metal parts started to rust immediately despite trying to keep it as dry as possible.
But about the Aquaroll... It works rather well, but it's an annoying design. One can have it with up to 50-100 meters of hose, but one can take the trolley only as far from the tap as the hose between the tap and the trolley allows to. And that's the annoying thing because the whole purpose of the trolley is to save storage by having the hose conveniently rolled up in small space. But the hose between the trolley and the tap will remain unaffected, it still takes a lot of space or alternatively requires some other way of rolling it up. But if that wasn't a problem, Aquaroll would become obsolete. Sure one could connect that rolled up hose to the tap, but then another watering hose for the trolley would be required. And that hose could not be rolled up inside the trolley.
Maybe we'll see an improved version one day so that all the garden hose can be rolled up inside the trolley so that it takes as little room as possible in the garden.

Metal is good, this plastic, but not bad, it is the highest quality in Europe, it is not Chinese production!

Dont think so, I have a HOZELOCK simmilar equipment and I ve been using it for more than 12years... still works perfectly.
I bought this Gardena stuff 3 days ago to my another house and Im really satisfied.
Get a metal one and have fun with rust :D Greetz
