I used to live near Springfield Crescent where Jeff lived. He would sometimes come out the back of his house onto Salters' rec where he would have a kickabout with us kids. Great guy. Forever missed

eeeeeeer i dont think so ! - my name is lewis astle - jeff is my great great grandson - his brothers son (his nephew) is my grandad and his name was John Astle - My family have known this for years and as it so happens - my grandad was famous too so yh btw jeff held me before he died (2002) in 2001!
The great "The King" Jeff Astle unfortunately Frank Skinner used him for his own entertainment and made a fool out of him on Fantasy Football in my view.
I think that is a little unfair. Frank Skinner loved Jeff Astle. I thought the entertainment was meant in good fun and Jeff loved the attention. RIP Jeff.
@@extramild1 he loved him that much he made him look a fool IMO. Frank could of had him still on the show in other respectful ways, I always cringed watching it.
